We're currently students in Computer Science Engineering, and in the context of one of our courses, we're to set up a debate about a precise subject (which will be in our case, presentation softwares) taking place on an interactive platform of some sort. While most platforms chosen for these debates are forums, we chose to use reddit due to its constantly increasing popularity and the interest of the voting system for influencing the discussions taking place.

What we want to do is gathering experiences, opinions, constructive criticism, and have a discussion about presentation softwares, and more precisely the rivality between Prezi and Powerpoint. We thank you in advance for any input.

Prezi is this presentation program where you can make these sort of interactive flowcharts. When I was in middle school we sometimes used them for projects. In the 8th grade (this would have been 2016-2017) my friends and I made a prezi that was basically just a series of poop jokes. (If you think 13 or 14 is too old to be entertained by that kind of humor, you'd be right. It was partly the fact that we knew we were too old for scatological humor that made it so very funny.) If I had known that the poop prezi would be permanently attached to my name, I wouldn't have made it.

I have a very uncommon name. I've never even heard of anyone outside my family that has my surname. So anything that comes up on google when you search my name is either related to someone who's been dead for hundreds of years, or me. In the case of the poop prezi, it's me. I'm worried that if I ever try to get a serious job, my employer will search up my name and that will be the first thing they see.

I logged into my old prezi account and deleted the poop prezi. I also changed the name for my account so it didn't contain my rare surname. But it's still showing up, and even a bit of text from the actual presentation shows up underneath it. It's actually super heinous, like I can't even begin to tell you how disgusting it is.

Hey all. I'd just like to ask for your advice. If ever you've done a thesis before, how does it feel? I'm really nervous for this one. I don't exactly know what to do. And do you recommend a powerpoint or prezi for the presentation?

I'm doing a presentation for an Environmental Science class, and for some reason our professor will not let us use PowerPoint. He only lets us use Prezi. As someone who has been diagnosed with OCD, this is the worst possible hell for me. Instead of organized slides with defined boundaries for text and images, there's this free-form canvas where you slap frames and images wherever you want. You can never be sure that the frames are the same size and are aligned with one another. I get that it's supposed to be this way, but I hate it because it's not concrete. I have begged my professor to let me use PowerPoint, but he wouldn't let me. He said that PowerPoint was declining in use, and that Prezi would soon replace it. I like the guy, but that is some class A bullshit. I had never even heard of Prezi before I came to his class, and everyone at every business I've visited uses PowerPoint. Prezi is more for art projects; it doesn't stand a chance in the professional world. I want PowerPoint back.

I was tasked to do a marketing presentation for this company recently. They loved the presentation but, what they were really impressed about is the fact that my presentation looked cool.... Fyi I used Prezi.

After extensive searching (Okay, so I only looked at the first 2 pages of google results), I haven't been able to find a tool even remotely similar to Prezi.com. It seems like this would be a fairly straight forward programming project for someone with decent programming skills. I know, the "swoopy" presentations can get old after awhile, but once in a while, they do make an interesting alternative to the plain old vanilla Powerpoint and Impress presentations we've all come to know and loathe. I'm surprised someone in the community hasn't made an opensource presentation tool that acts similarly. Is it because there isn't enough interest? Or is it some sort of patent(or copyright) infringement issue?

okay super frustrated trying to figure this out!! Essentially - anyone have an online free prezi to pdf converter? Someone shared a prezi link with me and I really want to download it ????

E_S Your account is actually still, but I can recommend you and Sacha_van_den_Bos as well to use the Report abuse button under one of your presentations where you can submit a help request and contact the responsible team directly who will be able to assist you with deleting your presentations.

Hi I have an old account that i cant seem to get access to at all. is there anything I can do to revive my old account and delete my old school presentation as I do not want it anymore. I have contacted someone before and they told me what the email address was and I was able to recover it but when I go through the forgot password email process it isnt working and i was able to use that email to make this account. I do not know how?

In most cases, your presentation should stop appearing in these results within a month. If you would like the link to your presentation to be immediately removed from search engine results (no longer indexed), you need to contact the search engine provider directly.

I am having a similar issue. However, it is with Prezi presentations from an old account which I deleted a few years ago. The Prezi presentations and my old Prezi user page are still showing up in my Google search results. Is there any way for these presentations and my old Prezi user page to be permanently deleted?

I tried to email prezi support but have not received a reply, and it has been a few days. On Monday I deleted six presentations from 2012-2013 on my account, however when I Google my name, the Google results still show the presentations. I would like to have these removed completely from showing up at all. I am hoping there is a way to resolve this issue. Thank you.

We are with you! We cannot seem to figure out how one of the most innovative presentation companies has chosen to step back from technology. Come on, Prezi! We too are moving to this new way of doing business. As soon as we move to this, you will lose us too.

When I logged in this morning I found that all my presentations where gone and that the entire interface of Prezi has been altered. This means that work of over 4 years has been deleted? Could anyone tell me where they have gone and how to get them back.

Hi laurie_tallack, it seems that you have a big library of presentations in your Prezi Classic dashboard. Here is a screencast how to change your Next dashboard to the Classic one. I hope this helps.

I would also like to advocate for the ability to either use a custom thumbail for videos, or at very least, at least have Prezi pull the first frame of the video as a thumbnail so that it can be integrated more subtly into the presentation.

Hey Dating_Kinky the Prezi Video templates you see on the Lite Create cannot be changed however you can easily create a presentation in the Advanced Editor using the template you need and customize it there. After that, just import the presentation into Prezi Video and record.

When I create a video in the Prezi Video app, it saves as a .pvl file, which I can easily modify later by adding frames and changing content selectively in the Prezi Video app. The same thing happens when I import a Powerpoint presentation. When I import from Prezi Next, I get a .pv file that does not appear to be easily editable in Prezi Video. It seems odd that a Powerpoint import yields a more flexible experience in Prezi Video than importing from another Prezi app. Is there a fix for this that I am missing?

Hello Newmen_Newmen I was able to open the presentation on my computer. I would suggest making sure your computer meets all the system requirements and that you are using the latest version of a supported browser. Please consult this tutorial. If you need further assistance feel free to reach out to me.

Hi Catarina, I really appreciate your fast response about this topic. What is showed in this video I could do that too in that moment but I could not replace or upload any images as I said before. For solve this I tried to work the prezi through the internet of my phone! I do not know if there was something to do with the s3.amazonaws servers, but only with this method I could solve my problem, including download the presentation without any account upgrade!

My frees subscription is ending and I want to cancel it now, but how do I keep the presentation I already have on Prezi? And can others still have an acess (they are not members, I invited them through link). Can others sign up for free subsrciption and still keep this presentation?

Adding and editing text are different than having it built into the main template. Having to edit EVERY piece of text that I type is very cumbersome and time consuming. For example, in my last presentation I wanted the text to be white and bold so every time I created a new subtopic I had to type then reformat the text. Why is there not a spot to create a base template for the circles that includes: outline color (including opacity), fill color (including opacity), text color, text font, text format. This should be standard for a presentation software.

I understand not having multiple templates (even though it has been a basic feature of other presentation software for years) but having a base template should be standard coding to streamline creation.

Step 6 Finally, you have several ways to export your Prezi slideshow. Click the Share menu, and you will be presented all options, including Share Prezi, Present remotely, Share on Facebook, Download as PDF and more. Then follow the onscreen instructions to render your presentation.

We have introduced one of the best web-based slideshow making tool, Prezi. Now, you should understand what Prezi is and how to make Prezi slideshow. On the other hand, we also shared the best way to create presentations for free, Aiseesoft Free Slideshow Maker. You can make a better decision based on our introductions and display your ideas using slideshows simply.
