<div>After about 4 months of still not getting paid, and having to put my shop on holiday mode, I still cannot upload a bank verification document. I've gotten the same error message for months. When I reach out to Etsy support, I get the same unhelpful auto response that doesn't answer my question. I've lost out on thousands of dollars of income because of this issue.</div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div>unable to download bank statement</div><div></div><div>Download File: https://t.co/07cub1N4WD </div><div></div><div></div><div>One tech support agent told me this is an "ongoing issue". But ongoing for how long...? For that, they didn't have an answer. How many months or years must I wait to get paid while they sort this out? I've asked for other payment options - ignored. I've asked if I could mail the statement - ignored. I've asked many questions, all of which - ignored.</div><div></div><div></div><div>"Looks like you reached the max number of attempts to verify your bank account. For now, your shop is suspended and you won't be able to receive any funds. You'll need to reach out to Etsy support to verify your bank and reopen your shop"</div><div></div><div></div><div>I have been on Etsy for years, my bank account has never changed. I've had several deposits into the bank successfully over the last few weeks. Suddenly Etsy advises that the funds for my most recent payment bounced back. And that I needed to verify my bank account. So even though I had rang the bank and I knew it was an issue on Etsy's side, not mine, I re-entered my bank account. Etsy said that they would deposit a small amount into the account and I had to enter that amount into Etsy to verify within three days. Next morning I had a "deposit failed" advice. Did the same all over again. Same result. And somehow I just knew that the next step was uploading my bank account. This is all like a scam. Why should we upload a bank statement when there is no issue with our bank account, which we have been using successfully with Etsy for years? And from what I've read on the forum that fails as well. So I won't be. Meanwhile they hold our funds. My guess from what I have read here is that the next step is that they will suspend my account. After enrolling in Etsy marketing for the first time, and at holiday season. Just lovely. I'll still be paying fees. I got through an email to support (after going around and around in circles) and they said "just wait a few days" only to find the same reject notice again. At least after reading this thread I know I'm not alone. It may still be at the bank, or maybe the owner closed it years ago. Or the bank may have determined that the account or safe deposit box was abandoned, so they transferred the contents to the state. This process is called escheatment, and every state has laws requiring financial institutions to turn over abandoned property after a certain amount of time, usually between three to five years. If the account was closed a long time ago, the bank may no longer have any record of it.</div><div></div><div></div><div>Finally, it is also important to make sure your bank knows how to contact you. Any time you change addresses, make sure your bank has your current address on file. Many banks now have an online system where you can update your address. You may need to write to your bank to ensure the change is made.</div><div></div><div></div><div>You should review your deposit account agreement for any applicable language. These companies collect and report negative information to banks and credit unions, such as a checking account closed as a result of unpaid overdraft amounts or unpaid fees. If the checking account screening company does not have negative information about you in its files, then typically you will not have a checking account report.</div><div></div><div></div><div>You may have been denied a bank account because a checking account screening company has negative information in its files about your checking history. Some banks and credit unions require you to pay any old, unpaid charges and fees before you are allowed to open a new account. Many banks and credit unions offer checking accounts and prepaid cards that are designed to reduce risks for both you and financial institutions by preventing overdraft and overdraft fees.
