Before working with vector shapes and vector paths, it's important that you=
 understand the basic differences between the two main categories of comput=
er graphics bitmap images and vector graphics. You can use Photoshop or Ima=
geReady to work with either type of graphics moreover, in Photoshop you can=
 combine both bitmap and vector data in an individual Photoshop image file.=
 Bitmap images, technically called raster images, are based on a grid of co=
lors known as pixels. Each pixel is assigned a specific location and color =
value. In working with bitmap images, you edit groups of pixels rather than=
 objects or shapes. Because bitmap graphics can represent subtle gradations=
 of shade and color, they are appropriate for continuous-tone images such a=
s photographs or artwork created in painting programs. A disadvantage of bi=
tmap graphics is that they contain a fixed number of pixels.

. We'll quickly learn how to create such forms and compositions consisting =
of these forms. Infographics is still a super popular topic, so I devote th=
is tutorial to it. There are popular forms of visual arts. They correspond =
to elementary forms, which we can find in nature. These forms are so-called=
 bricks that built a variety of complex forms. The variety of these bricks =
is not that big. These are a spiral, a sphere, a polyhedron, a pipe, a tree=

t is made up of a fixed number of colored pixels. Vector graphics are made =
up of lines and curves defined by mathematical objects called vectors. The =
advantage to using vector graphics for shapes is that they can be resized a=
nd moved without losing image quality.

What once required background images and icons can now be created with plai=
n-old CSS. Because modern browsers have access to things like box shadow, g=
radients, rounded corners, text-shadows, and font-face, we can finally take=
 advantage of this and remove any need for images, when creating visual ele=
ments, such as buttons I'll show you how in today's video tutorial. General=
ly, the solution is to set a background image on the parent element, and se=
t it to repeat vertically. However, if we get clever with CSS3 gradients, w=
e can achieve the same effect with zero images. The irony in this is that w=
e're using CSS3 gradients to create an effect that doesn't contain a gradie=
