Hi all!
I moved off all older messages to an archive to stop me from replying
to something too long forgotten. It's best that way.
So here's a very long ago posted bread machine recipe of mine made
again 1May23.
MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.05
Title: Xcarol's Fav Rye bread
Categories: Breadmaker, Xxcarol
Yield: 18 Servings
1 1/3 c Water
3 tb Butter
2 2/3 c Flour, white or wheat
1 1/3 c Rye flour
3 tb Brown sugar
2 ts Caraway seeds
1 ts Salt
3 tb Gluten powder
2 ts Bread machine yeast
A high rising bread, this one will take to whole wheat in part or all
of the bread flour. Increase gluten by 1 TB if all whole wheat. You
can also use regular white sugar in place of the brown.
This is for a 2 LB loaf, select whole grain is you have it, if not
basic white bread cycle will work.
Made even with all white flour, this will be a darker blend of bread.
It's effect when made with whole wheat flour is a dark and rustic
whole grain goodness.

It actually makes 14-16 servings (2 slices per serving). I worked ot
the cost per 2lb loaf just this week for another local group I started
on bread making at home. The US is not alone in rise of prices and
it's been 3 years of a lot of inflation. This little bit helps.
Cost was 89cents USA dollars. Cost of a 1lb loaf in the store of Rye
bread is over 4$. They are 'light rye' (1/4cup rye in a 2lb batch).
Anyways, use dough mode on the machine. Come back in 1.5 hours and
turn it out on a greased baking pan. Shape it how you want after
splitting if not making 1 big loaf. Let rise in a cold oven with just
the light on, for 1 hour. Remove and preheat to 400F then bake 17
minutes and check. This one took 19 minutes.

It's 11inch wide, 9inch deep, and 5.25inch tall.
Hope you all like a simple rye!
