I just had a roof contractor come and give me an estimate for a new roof.
He’s Albanian, probably ~50 years old, owns a local business… not sure how
long he’s been here, but does speak with an accent, so likely not born
here.
He said all his workers are Hispanic, Colombian, Mexican etc and he’s
not worried at all about them being ICED out of the country, because they
“have papers”, and though he’s not absolutely certain if they’re citizens,
he says he knows they pay social security taxes, so they “must be”
citizens. Sheesh, people just aren’t paying attention.

Anyway, he was admiring my little greenshack (of all things) and seemed
very impressed with it. I told him that tato built it. He said “Figures.
Immigrants are better at everything”.
