Lucky for me I didn't invent ethics.  

A common idea is that you don't ask a barber if you need a haircut.  A
corollary would be don't ask landlords what fair rent prices would be.
So what it comes down to is when people suggest that landlords should
decide such things, what you know is that shitslingers are afoot. Even
granma knows better than that.
