for anyone who doesn't want to be one: global fire trends (in acreage) 
are completely dominated by tropical savannas and grasslands which are 
declining in acreage because of land use changes and increased fire 
suppression along with land use changes...

this trends does not negate the increasing trend in temperate and 
especially boreal forest wildfires
