probably everyone in Canada locks their doors at night.

Here are some ideas for self defense at home, in no particular order:

1. Turn on porch lights at night
2. Lock all doors and windows
3. Adopt a dog
4. Have a cell phone for emergencies
5. Security camera on doorbell

Optional:

6. Place a sign in your front yard that reads: PROTECTED! 24 hr by Smith 
& Wesson
