Yes, we do have power if we are in a normal situation. In others maybe not so
much. As a rule, men don't worry about being out and about alone after dark. 
But women sure do. Also, while women can be pretty nasty, the overwhelming
majority of intimate partner homicides are committed by men against female
partners.

I think it's up to other men to shame their own sex if they physically abuse
women. I've been in that position (ex husband), and I know through that
experience that psychologically, never mind physically, you just feel helpless
to make it stop. I actually had some help from a male neighbour who kind of
knew what was happening and I am forever grateful to him for that.

Anyway.  I know that most men are lovely  :)
