I heard what he said.  If he is scared shitless about anything, it
would be that DSA candidates would spoil the dem's chances to getting
control of congress in nov.  There is some risk of that, I think.  So
thanks bill for doing your best to head off that possibility.  I know
your heart is in the right place.  

In the past, bill has said that comedy goes where the funny is, and
usually the r's have had most of his attention.  Lately the dems have
been deserving as well.

I would say, that the last thing the dems need right now is to be
split ideologically.  Fercrissake.  

Specifically, in that monologue, he said, "some of you guys are
saying, bill you have become a republican.  That is not what I said. I
said my vote is in play."  So he is reminding dems that they still
need to get smart.

Notice the different tone in this:

"After a few years of your neighbour being run by the DSA you'll
probably miss the loon."

Contempt, which is julian's stock in trade.  Always contempt if
nothing else.
