Especially in the view of a con man, it can't be neither.

When I first arrived here after apz died, tang was still here and a
few others who gave inspiration and humor and zest to the group.

Wilson was the only rightie here and he was doggedly beating his con
man drum as nobody listened. Tang tried to talk him down and
eventually declared him crashed which accomplish absolutely nothing.

As I have seen in other group endeavors, bad members drive away good
members an prevent attracting new good members. Eventually all you
have left is unzesty, uninspired, unfunny whatnots.

Some of the loss surely was simply people getting old. I remember
liaM one time saying how surprised he was when advanced old age
suddenly arrived one day. I am 81, how old must ned have been? How
old must julian be?
