https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-15032751/denver-skyscraper-collapse-upton-lawsuit-colorado.html Fears enormous new Denver skyscraper will COLLAPSE after 'contractor removed key pieces of concrete' A judge has warned that a 415-foot Denver skyscraper could be in danger of collapsing after a contractor allegedly removed pieces of concrete from the base amid a bitter feud with the developer. Denver District Judge Bruce Jones placed a rare restraining order on GCon On August 6, GCon abandoned the project for good and removed key stabilizing materials from the site in the process, according to Amacon's lawsuit. 'They were removed not in the dead of night or without notice or an opportunity for Amacon to observe what was happening, but in fact in coordination with Amacon's local representatives,' Ryan Williams, an attorney for GCon, said at the court hearing attended by Business Den. Amacon has accused GCon of removing the bracing which stabilized one of the towers, along with a temporary support system which was laid beneath the building's concrete slabs, triggering the level beneath it to start cracking. . . . Holy SHIT !!! Little contract dispute and someone actually REMOVES reinforcing stuff from a huge structure ??? This is why 3rd-world buildings collapse at the first little earth tremor - malicious greedy incompetence. Dunno who is in charge of GCon - but they need to be in JAIL immediately. And, tear down the fuckin' building ! You couldn't pay me a million a year to live in such a death-trap. This COULD have been solved by some court thing between GCon and Amacon. Instead GCon badly weakened the entire structure, a serious risk to everyone in and near. Could pancake anytime. No No NO !
