"AI" is still on an extreme - almost stupid - upswing. The amount of time/money/energy being invested is just insane. LONGER term however ... a lot of "AI" just does not seem it will pay off As Expected. Billions, trillions, down the toilet. Then a Huge Crash. Oh, the energy equation ... this is especially BAD. It's been projected that maybe 25 percent or even a bit more of the global energy budget might soon be going into giant AI farms. Thought SUVs were bad ? Solution ? Big boost into quantum ... get a lot more done faster with the same energy. Progress there IS being made. The error problem now seems mostly solved.
