It could have helped you, maybe..  From the mid 80's on, college turned 
into a giant social club in the USA.  The long term results were not good 
for some business sectors.

It won't help in blue states where HS grads can't read, write or perform 
basic math.

Selective reading.  They have jobs and go to work every day.
