The president of Iowa Spring Manufacturing says the drought
in manufacturing jobs, not just in his state but across the
nation, is a reflection of challenges facing the entire U.S.
economy.

“If you look at housing inflation, the everyday cost of goods
that Iowa workers are facing right now … all going up,” Tim
Bianco said during a Tuesday appearance on “The Hill.” “I
think manufacturing is a reflection of that or a mirroring
of that.”

Vice President JD Vance visited Iowa to speak to voters in
a manufacturing facility in Iowa, a visit that comes as the
cost of living is reaching new heights and farmers are
facing more pressure from tariffs and rising fuel and
fertilizer prices.

“I think if you were to ask the average Iowan workers, they
feel gas prices every day,” Bianco added. “But they understand
short-term and long-term differences. They recognize that
for long-term gains, we might have some short-term pains.”

   If Iowa wants actuall talent it will have to shop somewhere
   else in the world.

   iceberg when it comes to 'AI' obliterating large swaths
   of traditional careers.
