Actress and singer Selena Gomez admitted to having one major regret since leaving her role as teen wizard Alex Russo on the hit Disney sitcom The Wizards of Waverly Place: not keeping in touch with other members of the cast. Gomez revealed her regret when she joined two of her former cast mates David DeLuise, who played her father Jerry Russo, and Jennifer Stone, who played her best friend Harper Finkel for Mondays episode of their podcast, Wizards of Waverly Pod. DeLuise prompted the exchange with a prewritten question pulled from a crystal ball on the table, asking her to describe her biggest mistake with one caveat: you cant say a boys name. Okay, Jesus, Gomez reacted, leaning back in her chair. You know what? Probably not staying in touch with you guys. Oh s***, youre gonna make me cry, DeLuise responded, removing his glasses and pushing back in his chair. I think I slowly became kind of shamed. I felt ashamed of the decisions that I made. I didnt want you guys to see me in the state that I was in because, a.) you would have told me the truth which terrifies me, and b.) I didnt want to let you down, Gomez told the two hosts, admitting that despite her fears at the time, she felt bad about not doing a better job of staying in touch with them. Thats really sweet and thank you for saying that, DeLuise replied. We obviously I miss you and Im happy youre doing well now. I appreciate you saying that too. To be perfectly blunt, like you know there has been times where Im like Did we stop being friends because I didnt tell her what she wanted to hear? You know what I mean so I appreciate you being here, Stone added. I appreciate you guys dearly and I love you so much in a way that Ive never loved anybody else, the Only Murders in the Building star continued. Stone jumped back in then, saying that what was truly beautiful was the fact that as they continued to get older, they learned from mistakes like that. We dont have to stay in that place, Stone said, and Gomez agreed: Absolutely. WATCH: https://youtu.be/97TBj7Svgy4 -- Let's go Brandon!
