Idiota!

Canuckistan is CHOCK FULL of migrant slouches who came over for
the guaranteed income promise/experiment - which FAILED big time.

https://www.heritage.org/international-economies/commentary/canadian-experiment-quickly-shows-failures-universal-basic

The Ontario experiment was a particularly generous version of a UBI. Eligible individuals could receive $17,000 (Canadian; about 13,000 U.S. dollars today) minus half of any earned income. A couple could receive $24,000. And people with disabilities could get as much as $23,000.

For the Ontario pilot, only low-income folks participated, and their benefits replaced unemployment insurance, the state pension and disability payments.

The government cited the program’s high cost when announcing the termination. This shouldn’t be a surprise. A similar program in the United States with a 50 percent marginal tax on earned income would cost about $250 billion per year if operating nationwide (assuming no adverse consequences of taxation). Get rid of the tax, and it would cost just shy of $1 trillion per year.

But the piper must be paid:

"Key details regarding income support for newcomers in 2026:
Refugee Assistance: Government-assisted refugees receive a one-time household start-up allowance and monthly income support for basic needs (food/shelter) for up to one year.

New Benefit in 2026: The new Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit, starting in spring 2026, will provide one-time top-up payments to low- and modest-income residents, including many newcomers, to help with essential costs.
Sponsorship: Many immigrants (such as family class) are sponsored, meaning their sponsors are responsible for their financial support, not the government.
Seniors: The Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS) is available to seniors
(65+) with low income who have lived in Canada, but it is not
specifically for new immigrants."

Now they comprise a sheltered quasi-homeless protected class.

Canada is failing to count how many overstay their visas
Douglas Todd: Population growth is three times higher than Ottawa's
official estimates, analysts say, because a large number of people who
were supposed to leave the country aren't being tracked.

The latter is handily DISPROVED by his actions, or lack of said.

There is PLENTY of work for migrants in Canadia, plenty.

"AI Overview

Top jobs for immigrants in Canada include in-demand roles in healthcare (registered nurses, aides), technology (software developers, data scientists), skilled trades (welders, electricians, construction managers), and transportation (truck drivers). These roles often offer high wages and pathways to permanent residency.
Top Industries and Roles for Newcomers

Healthcare: High demand for Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and Health Care Assistants due to an aging population.

Technology: Software engineers, developers, and data scientists are heavily sought after, especially in Ontario, BC, Quebec, and Alberta.

Skilled Trades: Welders, electricians, and construction managers are in high demand across multiple provinces.

Transportation: Long-haul truck drivers are critical to supply chains and in high demand.

Administrative/Support: Administrative assistants are among the most in-demand roles, providing a strong entry point.

Education: Early childhood educators are needed, supported by government investments in childcare.

Key Job Resources for Immigrants
Job Market Overview: Over 25% of health professionals are immigrants.

Key Locations: Opportunities are strong in provinces like Ontario, British Columbia, Alberta, and Quebec.

Language Support: Many manufacturing and trade companies offer language
support to new workers."

That's why their worker importation program took off, not enough oil
field workers.

2021:

Canada’s aging population is predicted to create a growing gap in the labour force over the coming years, and the Liberal government believes increased immigration is the answer.

The issue is that more rural areas of Canada are set to be the places with the biggest shortages, while immigrants prefer to settle in the larger cities, mainly Vancouver and Toronto.

McCallum is considering ways the federal government can help encourage immigrants to disperse across the country, although it appears there is little to be done under the law. Permanent residents have the right to free movement as part of the Canadian constitution.

Given the need to rely on immigration as a tool to meet growing demographic challenges, policy makers in Atlantic Canada and elsewhere must consider the carrot approach.

The immigration tools are in place. They just need to be complemented with input from a much wider range of stakeholders to create the right conditions for immigrants to remain by choice.
