Adam Carolla roasts Karen Bass over air conditioning comments during heat wave: 'Full of s-t'

Radio personality Adam Carolla called out Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass
for her comments on air conditioning during this week’s heat wave in
Southern California. 

During a press conference on the blistering temperatures descending on
LA and surrounding areas this week, Mayor Bass discussed cooling centers
set up around the city to provide relief for Angelenos. 

“There are plenty of apartments and housing that have no air
conditioning, because frankly we didn’t need it until the last few years
as global warming has impacted our city. So we would like to promote
taking advantage of those resources,” she said. 

“Bass is full of s–t,” comedian and podcaster Carolla wrote on X in
response. “I grew up in LA—believe me, you needed air conditioning 50
years ago. I know because we didn’t have any.” 

Many agreed with the LA native.

“As someone also born and raised here, I can say that’s a fact! We lived
in the community pools during summer cause none of us could afford it
but didn’t want to cook in our houses,” one X user replied. 

“I’ve lived in LA for nearly 40 yrs. Hell yes we needed AC,” a second
added. 

“It’s always been hot in LA. It’s only cool to cold for about 6 weeks in
Dec/January,” a third chimed in. “By Valentine’s Day is tank top
weather. This has nothing to do with climate change. What a con artist.” 

The heat in Southern California this week is expected to shatter
records, with temperatures set to surge as much as 35 degrees above
normal and into the triple digits. 

The National Weather Service warned Monday that “a dangerous heat wave”
will scorch the region this week, with the mercury peaking between
Tuesday and Friday. 

Temperatures are expected to reach the mid-90s across Southern
California on Monday, before climbing into the low 100s by Wednesday,
according to the weather service. 

“There will be a high risk for heat illness for everyone—especially in
locations away from the coast. If you or someone you know is at risk for
heat-related problems, please make cooling plans now for the rest of
this week,” the NWS warned.
