An amenity others are paying for up north and some cities,  which i do not
have, is easy access to public transport and easy walking distance to
various things

Over my time here, 15 years, i wanted to transfer to a bigger city. I
wanted to apply for the chief job in a city that had good connectivity.

Philadelphia would have been good. Would be closer to home. But i hated the
regional chief. I did not want to work for him. Dc i already had had enough
of.  I got mugged there, so my love of it faded.

I wanted to stay south for the weather,, and because the regional chief
probably would have given me the office of my chief, made me the boss.

There were some really decent choices.

But then things started happening making staying put the right choice.

 But not a good choice

Not only do we not have easy access, we mostly do not have anything to
attend for fun

I am surrounded by lawyers, doctors  and dentists.  Insurance agents.  Not
an interesting neighborhood.

Now they are building storage units.

There were some decent restaurants in walking distance, all closed

If you do not have a car forget it. But covid made delivery and amazon a
decent replacement for some life demands
