All supplicate themselves to Mammon ...

Read a bit - actually posted it - the other day
about how traditional "religion" is no longer
considered to be of "high importance" in the
USA anymore - MONEY rules instead.

Now I'm NOT "religious" at all - but I *do* see
   where "above-it-all" philosophies/theologies
play important roles in social evolution. There
needs to be *something* above State, above even
Money, or things just go VERY bad. It's one of
   those Human Nature things.

Ben Franklin, in a cynical moment, observed his
fellow citizens - who all claimed to be "Christians" -
and seeing their horrible behavior wondered what
they'd be like with NO religion.

Now "ethics" theoretically COULD fill the gap, but
it always gets fatally entangled in, contaminated
with, the favorite local religions. US public schools
don't even DARE try to teach ethics anymore .....

And Gen-Z/Alpha2 clearly reflect that .....

Old ? I'm basically there now. Gen-Z/A2 is going
to be in charge of our old age. That's VERY VERY
scary ! MIGHT be safer to move to Japan, even China,
where there's still a LITTLE respect for elders.
