o Apple VP explains new iPhone 12 features in-depth
<https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/apple-vp-explains-new-iphone-12-features-in-depth/id1120941458>
"We're able to make a bunch of software optimizations throughout the
entire system to make battery life even better, and on top of that we
added a new feature called "Smart Data mode" that will allow you to
manage your 5G usage and battery life a bit better, so you can use
5G speeds when it really matters, and then for places where maybe it
doesn't matter as much it will revert to 4G LTE speeds to save your
battery life. And then the last part of it that I think is really
important is the work we've done with our carrier partners,
working with them on their network settings, on their deployment plan,
so they're also optimizing their settings together with iPhone to
   optimize for battery life."

It is ironic how many words the Apple iPhone VP needed to explain all the
ways that not only Apple, but users, and even the carrier, have to change
how they do things (ala "you're not holding it right"), just to get
o *"slightly better than atrocious" battery life out of the iPhone 12*

What the VP said is a classic case of Apple doublespeak, by the way:
"to make battery life even better" *[than atrocious]*
"that will allow you to manage" *[the iPhone atrocious battery life]*
"battery life a bit better" *[than atrocious]*
"to save your battery life" *[since it's atrocious otherwise]*
"optimizing their settings" *[because it's atrocious otherwise]*
"together with iPhone to optimize for battery life *[which is atrocious]*

No mention by the Apple VP of the facts obvious to all intelligent adults
o But, as always, infantile apologists are oblivious to these obvious facts

1. Why don't Android makers have to do all those things Apple just said?
2. Why did all tested Android phones _kill_ the iPhone 12 on battery life?
3. Why didn't Apple simply NOT cheap out on the battery in the first place?

BTW, did anyone else notice that Apple's claims on battery life have
_never_ even once been supported by reliable independent tests?

And yet, Apple claims similar battery life to the iPhone 11, even as the
batteries are smaller and 5G clearly sucks up battery power.

Only the infantile apologists could possibly be immune to the obvious here.
o Again, Apple increased profits by cheaping out on the (loyal) consumer.
