Keeping in mind that someone, not me, wrongly added the Apple newsgroup,
perhaps that person thought it was related to "Apple Keynote/Slides".

Anyway, since all I care about is to learn more about how Sliide works,
I dug a bit deeper to determine most likely Sliide only infests Android.

While Sliide operates in the US, EU, and UK and partners with cellphone
OEMs and carriers, I can find no mention of iOS on their detailed site.

    "Sliide intelligently integrates deep into the Android OS, 
     offering carriers and OEMs simple, scalable ways to manage,
     measure and monetize their on-device experience without 
     writing a single line of code."

The good news is that Android has debugging tools which allow the user
complete control over detecting & removing this carrier-provided malware.

Nothing like that tool will ever be on any iOS device because... Apple.

The better news is my phone is back to never seeing any ads anywhere!

My advice to Android owners is to search for & remove any Sliide Activity.
