Dilbert's last 20 years of strips wasn't that good;
it's the period of around 1995 - 1999 that are gold!

How did a simple press of the button exterminate the comic
strip?  Is there any disproof in the claim that the media
is an illegally concentrated monopoly when all newspapers
reacted the same to the "news"?

Universal Syndicate, or whatever was his comic strip syndicate,
banned him and his strip, and Andrews McMeel, his publisher
banned every one his scores of strip collections!

His comic strip books have been a steady seller since 1991,
and none went out of print until 2023 when *all* went out
of print!

I suspect Amazon also banned new copies of his books before
the publisher did, because new copies of most of his books were
available at barnesandnoble.com, but not amazon.  Amazon had
already done a high profile ban of Dr. Suess's first book,
Mulberry Street, and so it was in character to ban 60 or so
Dilbert books immediately.

This banning was malicious, and politically motivated, and I
wished Adams was more assertive and used his money to sue
the Washington Post for libel (assuming they started the
attack and all others followed, akin to how the Washington
Post fabricated an article saying that Sanders was backed by
Putin and all other news sources vouched for the Washington
Post / Andy Jassy / Amazon as the Gospel Truth) as well as
Andrews McMeel and Universal Syndicate.

Yes what was the context?  I never learned, just some vague
references to a podcast series but never quoted in full.
Actual journalism would be more detail providing about the
actual alleged incident, and documenting how the banning
campaign proceeded.
