something i have noticed

ok when you are watching a show, lets say an english show, do you 
ever notice that the language being used is far more complicated 
and would not be easily accessible to someone learning the language?

for me that realization has never occurred, probably because i 
have completely mastered the english language. but i notice it 
very very distinctly when it comes to japanese shows.

for example, i can watch dozens of one piece episodes and not 
need to look at subtitles at all! but when it comes to the most 
recently popular ones like boku no hero academia and kimetsu no 
yaiba, the language being used is.. at a college level.

you really need to know your stuff to be able to watch those 
without any subtitles.
