now we know EXACTLY what they had in mind when Vance was assigned the task
of berating Zelensky (and I’m sure they hoped Zelensky would crack and lose
it even worse but he held it together quite well)
In any case, the reason for that ambush was to create a premise for pulling
weapons, intel, and even commercially available satellite data. While
making it look like they had a “real (retaliatory) reason” to do that to
Ukraine kind of under cover, as opposed to just “cut everything now, so we
can help Putin” which they thought might not have gone over quite as well.
I actually personally believe though, anybody’s ability or will to crank up
the dissent would have been no different (here in the USA, including
congress) had they skipped the ambush theater altogether, and just
announced “we gonna help Putin now” instead..
