The text I cited above is from 2 Peter, not "the Gospel of Peter". I do not recognize or believe "the Gospel of Peter" is part of the inspired Bible. Also, we are not ignorant of Satan's devices. He has been trying to undermine and promote doubt about the word of God since Genesis 3. The ongoing opposition to truth was predicted, and validates the Bible. Historically, the more successful tactics of opposition have occurred when the unwitting tool of Satan pretends to agree it's the word of God, but then tries and twist it to a spiritually harmful meaning. >> >>>>> in an ancient >>>>>> language that has been dead for centuries. >>>> >>>> >>>> We have reliable translations by people who know the original >>> languages. >> >>> Why does your religion depend on "translations"? >> >> >> It depends on the death and resurrection of Christ for our sins. That >> understanding was not hidden from us or lost in translation. > > > Everything you know about the Bible > is a translation. Idem. Translation doesn't prohibit the transmission or understanding of truth. Jesus sometimes quoted from the LXX, which was the Greek translation of the Hebrew text. The apostles, inspired by the Holy Spirit, translated YHWH as "Kyrios" into Greek, yet it did not become obscure to their understanding or ours. Meanwhile, the underlying problem with your writings are that the person they are about didn't offer an effective atonement for our sins, didn't rise from the dead to prove that, and therefore offers no valid hope of eternal life. All the evidence convinces me that Christ did these things. -- Good News † Our debt to God was nailed to the cross where Christ died for our sins (Colossians 2:14), and God demonstrated this fact by raising Him from the grave (Romans 1:4). Now, God remains perfectly just while forgiving those who put their faith in Jesus (Romans 3:26) and sparing them from future wrath (1 Thessalonians 1:10). It is a free gift for everyone who believes (Romans 6:23). Trust in the Lord and call on His name to receive salvation (Romans 10:9-13): How to be saved: christrose.news/salvation
