John W. Morehead recently posted on Facebook a link to a podcast in
which an Orthodox priest, Fr Stephen de Young, is interviewed by
Tucker Carlson, who has recently done a series of podcasts on the
Genocide in Gaza.

The podcasts begins with the Nephilim or "giants" mentioned in Genesis
chapter 6.

Morehead had posted some thoughts on the podcast, and ends with the
question:

What are your thoughts on this as it relates to contemporary
theo-politics?

I have posted some my thoughts on it, and John Morehead's, in the
Christianity and Society mailing list and invite anyone interested in
the topic to join in the discussion there:

But before doing that, it might be well to listen to the
podcast itself:

or

Warning: the podcast is long, nearly 2 hours, so you will need plenty
of time to listen to it.

You might also find it useful to read this short historical
introduction first, to set the scene:

This is a review of a book, which gives a historical introduction to
the way in which these ideas were received by Christians and Jews. It
is as well to be aware of the history before trying to grapple with
the ideas themselves.
