Re: Naked Before God

I know I am going to regret getting in this mess, but God didn't just make 
clothes for Adam and Eve.  First, He asked how they knew they were naked. 
Second, He made and apron, a loin cloth with a belt, for them as they exited 
Eden.

The clothing they wore was an animal skin, a symbol of the blood sacrifice 
needed to atone for their sin. It simply didn't mean that God wanted them 
clothed. He wanted them to understand the gravity of their actions.

As a beautiful aside, the place they were heading had bristles and thistles, 
briars and other objects foreign to their previous world. The new world 
would filled with toil and hard work. These "clothes" those things that 
covered only the bare essentials for protection, were not "hiding" anything. 
Adam and Eve were still naked.

So says me. This is what I understand Genesis to mean.  Other opinions may 
differ.

he he.....you paint a rosy picture there but what if God is looking
down on those naked folks in church and saying...what part of my
making garments for A and E is it that you dont understand.....i did
not mean  for them to remove those clothes in public as they indicated
to me they were ashamed of their sin and used fig leaves....i made
them good garments and they are to wear them in public...so you guys
have some explaining to do...jz
