I believe the Bible should be taken literally. Too often people forget
that when the Bible says something intended for the tribe of Israel or
for people thousands of years ago, that is exactly the literal
meaning, not what some TV preacher today might read into it. 

Your description of Genesis 2 is a literal reading IMHO. Here is an
