The writer of the book is a nude art model herself. Models nude in front of art classes. Something I have always seen as one of the few incidents like nudism (well at least how nudism claims to be) where someone can be nude and the nudity is nonsexualized. Not so, she says and she has actually been nude in front of art classes. She has had the experience so she should know what she is talking about.
