Day 306, 2 November 2025 - Day of International prayer for the Persecuted Church Today at Calvay Community Church , Pastor Nathan Zeiber spoke on Identity in Christ - Salvation Worth Looking into. 1 Peter 1:10-12 10 (Mt 13:17; Lk 10:24) Concerning this salvation, the prophets who prophesied of the grace that should come to you have inquired and searched diligently, 11 (2Pe 1:21; Isa 52:13-14) seeking the events and time the Spirit of Christ, who was within them, signified when He foretold the sufferings of Christ and the glories to follow. 12 (Jn 15:26; Da 8:13) It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves but you, concerning the things which are now reported to you by those who have preached the gospel to you through the Holy Spirit, who was sent from heaven-things into which the angels desire to look. [10] Of which salvation the prophets have inquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you: [11] Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow. [12] Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into. Prophets Isaiah 7:14 14 (Isa 8:8; Mt 1:23; Isa 9:6) Therefore the Lord Himself shall give you a sign: The virgin [Heb. young woman.] shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.Or God with us. [14] Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. Micah 5:2 2 (Zec 9:9; Mt 2:6) But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, although you are small among the tribes of Judah, from you will come forth for Me one who will be ruler over Israel. His origins are from of old, from ancient days. [2] But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting. Psalm 22:16 16 For dogs have encompassed me; the assembly of the wicked has enclosed me; like a lion they pin my hands and my feet; [16] For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet. And Jesus Luke 24:26-27 26 (1Pe 1:11; Lk 24:46) Was it not necessary for the Christ to suffer these things and to enter His glory?" 27 (Ge 3:15; Isa 7:14) And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, He explained to them the things concerning Himself in all the Scriptures. [26] Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory? [27] And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself. 1)John 15:18-27, John 16, John 17 John 15:18-27 The World's Hatred 18 (1Jn 3:13; Jn 7:7) "If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. 19 (Jn 15:16) If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own. But because you are not of the world, since I chose you out of the world, the world therefore hates you. 20 (Jn 13:16; Mt 10:24) Remember the word that I said to you: 'A servant is not greater than his master.' If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My words, they will keep yours also. 21 (Mt 10:22; Jn 16:3) But all these things they will do to you for My name's sake, because they do not know Him who sent Me. 22 (Jn 9:41; Ro 1:20) If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have had sin. But now they have no excuse for their sin. 23 He who hates Me hates My Father also. 24 (Jn 5:36; 10:37) If I had not performed among them the works which no one else did, they would have no sin. But now have they seen and hated both My Father and Me. 25 (Ps 35:19; 69:4) But that the word which is written in their law might be fulfilled, 'They hated Me without a cause.' (Ps 35:19; 69:4.) 26 (Jn 14:16-17; 14:26; 16:7) "But when the Counselor comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will bear witness of Me. 27 (Lk 24:48; Jn 21:24) And you also will bear witness, because you have been with Me from the beginning. [18] If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. [19] If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. [20] Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also. [21] But all these things will they do unto you for my name's sake, because they know not him that sent me. [22] If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloke for their sin. [23] He that hateth me hateth my Father also. [24] If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father. [25] But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause. [26] But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me: [27] And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning. John 16 1 (Mt 11:6) "I have spoken these things to you so that you will not fall away. 2 (Jn 9:22; Ac 26:9-11) They will put you out of the synagogues. Yes, the time is coming that whoever kills you will think that he is offering a service to God. 3 (Jn 15:21; 17:25) They will do these things to you, because they have not known the Father nor Me. 4 (Jn 13:19; Mt 9:15) I have told you these things, so that when the time comes, you may remember that I told you about them. [1] These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended. [2] They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service. [3] And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me. [4] But these things have I told you, that when the time shall come, ye may remember that I told you of them. And these things I said not unto you at the beginning, because I was with you. The Work of the Spirit "I did not tell you these things at the beginning, because I was with you. 5 (Jn 13:36; 7:33) But now I am going to Him who sent Me, and none of you asks Me, 'Where are You going?' 6 (Jn 14:1) Rather, sorrow has filled your heart because I have told you these things. 7 (Jn 14:26; 15:26; 7:39) Nevertheless I tell you the truth: It is expedient for you that I go away. For if I do not go away, the Counselor will not come to you. But if I go, I will send Him to you. 8 (Jn 8:46) When He comes, He will convict the world of sin and of righteousness and of judgment: 9 of sin, because they do not believe in Me; 10 (Jer 23:5-6; Ac 3:14) of righteousness, because I am going to My Father, and you will see Me no more; 11 (Jn 12:31; 14:30; 2Co 4:4) and of judgment, because the ruler of this world stands condemned. 12 (Mk 4:33) "I have yet many things to tell you, but you cannot bear them now. 13 (Jn 14:17; 14:26; 15:26) But when the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth. For He will not speak on His own authority. But He will speak whatever He hears, and He will tell you things that are to come. 14 (1Jn 4:13-14) He will glorify Me, for He will receive from Me and will declare it to you. 15 (Jn 17:10) All that the Father has is Mine. Therefore I said that He will take what is Mine and will declare it to you. [5] But now I go my way to him that sent me; and none of you asketh me, Whither goest thou? [6] But because I have said these things unto you, sorrow hath filled your heart. [7] Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. [8] And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: [9] Of sin, because they believe not on me; [10] Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; [11] Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged. [12] I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. [13] Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. [14] He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. [15] All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you. Sorrow Will Turn Into Joy 16 (Jn 7:33; 16:17-19) "In a little while you will not see Me. And then after a little while you will see Me, because I am going to the Father." 17 (Jn 16:5; Mk 9:10) Then some of His disciples said among themselves, "What is this He is telling us: 'In a little while you will not see Me; and then after a little while you will see Me,' and, 'because I am going to the Father'?" 18 Then they said, "What is this He is telling us: 'In a little while'? We do not know what He is saying." 19 (Jn 2:24-25; 16:30) Then Jesus knew that they wanted to ask Him. So He said to them, "Do you inquire among yourselves concerning what I said: 'In a little while you will not see Me; and then after a little while you will see Me'? 20 (Mk 16:10; Mt 5:4) Truly, truly I say to you that you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice. You will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will be turned into joy. 21 (1Th 5:3) When a woman is giving birth, she has pain, because her hour has come. But as soon as she delivers the child, she no longer remembers the anguish for joy that a child is born into the world. 22 (Jn 16:6; 1Pe 1:8) Therefore you now have sorrow. But I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you. 23 (Jn 16:19; Mt 7:7) On that day you will ask Me nothing. Truly, truly I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name, He will give it to you. 24 (Jn 15:11) Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full. [16] A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me, because I go to the Father. [17] Then said some of his disciples among themselves, What is this that he saith unto us, A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me: and, Because I go to the Father? [18] They said therefore, What is this that he saith, A little while? we cannot tell what he saith. [19] Now Jesus knew that they were desirous to ask him, and said unto them, Do ye inquire among yourselves of that I said, A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me? [20] Verily, verily, I say unto you, That ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy. [21] A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow, because her hour is come: but as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world. [22] And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you. [23] And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you. [24] Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full. I Have Overcome the World 25 (Jn 16:2) "I have told you these things in proverbs. But the time is coming when I will no longer speak to you in proverbs, for I will speak to you plainly about the Father. 26 On that day you will ask in My name. I am not saying to you that I shall ask the Father on your behalf. 27 (Jn 14:21; 14:23) For the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me, and have believed that I came from God. 28 (Jn 13:3; 8:14) I came from the Father and have come into the world. As I said, I am leaving the world and am going to the Father." 29 (Jn 16:25) His disciples said to Him, "Yes! Now You are speaking plainly and with no figure of speech. 30 (Jn 21:17) Now we know that You know everything and do not need anyone to question You. By this we believe that You came from God." 31 Jesus answered them, "Do you now believe? 32 (Mt 26:31; Jn 8:29) Listen, the hour is coming. Yes, it has now come that you will be scattered, each to his own home, and will leave Me alone. Yet I am not alone, for the Father is with Me. 33 (Jn 14:27; 1Jn 4:4; Jn 14:1) "I have told you these things so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But be of good cheer. I have overcome the world." [25] These things have I spoken unto you in proverbs: but the time cometh, when I shall no more speak unto you in proverbs, but I shall shew you plainly of the Father. [26] At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you: [27] For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God. [28] I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father. [29] His disciples said unto him, Lo, now speakest thou plainly, and speakest no proverb. [30] Now are we sure that thou knowest all things, and needest not that any man should ask thee: by this we believe that thou camest forth from God. [31] Jesus answered them, Do ye now believe? [32] Behold, the hour cometh, yea, is now come, that ye shall be scattered, every man to his own, and shall leave me alone: and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me. [33] These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. John 17 The Prayer of Jesus 1 (Jn 11:41; 7:39) When Jesus spoke these words, He lifted His eyes toward heaven and said: "Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son may also glorify You. 2 (Jn 6:37; 6:39) As You have given Him authority over all flesh, He will give eternal life to all whom You have given Him. 3 (1Jn 5:20; Jn 3:17; 17:25) This is eternal life: that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom You have sent. 4 (Jn 4:34; 19:30) I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work You have given Me to do. 5 (Jn 17:24; Php 2:6) And now, O Father, glorify Me in Your own presence with the glory which I had with You before the world existed. 6 (Jn 17:2; 17:26) "I have revealed Your name to the men whom You have given Me out of the world. They were Yours, and You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word. 7 Now they know that all things You have given Me are from You. 8 (Jn 16:27; 17:14) For I have given them the words which You gave Me. They have received them and certainly know that I came from You, and they have believed that You sent Me. 9 (Lk 22:32; Jn 14:16) I pray for them. I do not pray for the world, but for those whom You have given Me. For they are Yours. 10 (2Th 1:10) All that are Mine are Yours, and all that are Yours are Mine. And I am glorified in them. 11 (Jn 13:1; 17:21-22) I am to be no longer in the world, though these are in the world, for I am coming to You. Holy Father, through Your name keep those whom You have given Me, that they may be one as We are one. 12 (Jn 13:18; 18:9; 2Th 2:3) While I was with them in the world, I kept them in Your name. I have kept those whom You have given Me. And none of them is lost except the son of perdition, that the Scripture might be fulfilled. 13 (Jn 3:29; 15:11) "But now I am coming to You, and I say these things in the world, that they may have My joy fulfilled in themselves. 14 (Jn 8:23; 17:16) I have given them Your word. And the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. 15 I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one. 16 (Jn 17:14) They are not of the world even as I am not of the world. 17 (Jn 15:3; 2Sa 7:28) Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth. 18 (Jn 20:21) As You sent Me into the world, so I sent them into the world. 19 (Jn 10:36; 1Co 1:2) For their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they also may be sanctified by the truth. 20 "I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word, 21 (Jn 10:38; 17:8) that they may all be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You. May they also be one in Us, that the world may believe that You have sent Me. 22 (Jn 1:14; 14:20) I have given them the glory which You gave Me, that they may be one even as We are one: 23 (Jn 16:27; 17:21) I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfect in unity, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me. 24 (Jn 12:26; 17:5) "Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, that they may see My glory which You have given Me. For You loved Me before the creation of the world. 25 (Jn 7:29; 15:21) "O righteous Father, the world has not known You, but I have known You, and these have known that You sent Me. 26 (Jn 15:9; 17:6) I have declared Your name to them, and will declare it, that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them." [1] These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee: [2] As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him. [3] And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. [4] I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do. [5] And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was. [6] I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word. [7] Now they have known that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee. [8] For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me. [9] I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine. [10] And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them. [11] And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are. [12] While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled. [13] And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves. [14] I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. [15] I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. [16] They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. [17] Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. [18] As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world. [19] And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth. [20] Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; [21] That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. [22] And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: [23] I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me. [24] Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world. [25] O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me. [26] And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them. 2) Our Daily Bread for 2 November 2025 titled The Paradox of Persecution by Dave Branon Acts 7:59–8:8 The Stoning of Stephen 59 (Ps 31:5; Lk 23:46) They stoned Stephen as he was calling on God, praying, "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit." 60 (Mt 5:44; Lk 22:41) Then he knelt down and cried with a loud voice, "Lord, do not hold this sin against them." Having said this, he fell asleep. [59] And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit. [60] And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep. Acts 8 1 (Ac 7:58; 5:33)And Saul was consenting to his death. Saul Persecutes the Church On that day a great persecution broke out against the church in Jerusalem. And they were all scattered throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles. 2 Devout men carried Stephen to his burial and made great lamentation over him. 3 (1Co 15:9; Gal 1:13) But Saul ravaged the church, entering house by house and dragging out both men and women and committing them to prison. [1] And Saul was consenting unto his death. And at that time there was a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judaea and Samaria, except the apostles. [2] And devout men carried Stephen to his burial, and made great lamentation over him. [3] As for Saul, he made havock of the church, entering into every house, and haling men and women committed them to prison. The Gospel Preached in Samaria 4 (Ac 8:1) Therefore those who were scattered went everywhere preaching the word. 5 (Ac 6:5) Philip went down to the city of Samaria and preached Christ to them. 6 When the crowds heard Philip and saw the miracles which he did, they listened in unity to what he said. 7 (Mk 16:17-18) For unclean spirits, crying with a loud voice, came out of many who were possessed. And many who were paralyzed or lame were healed. 8 So there was much joy in that city. [4] Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word. [5] Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them. [6] And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did. [7] For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed. [8] And there was great joy in that city. Something unusual happens in ten short verses starting with Acts 7:59. The story turns quickly from Stephen's horrific death by stoning to other believers in Christ being scattered and"“preach[ing] the word," leading to these amazing words: "There was great joy in that city" (8:8). That's the paradox of persecution. European pastor Hristo Kulichev experienced the miracle of good coming from evil. In the 1980s, he was arrested for preaching and thrown in prison. While there, he spoke openly about the gospel of Jesus. Upon his release eight months later, he said, "We had a more fruitful ministry there than we could have expected in church. God was better served by our presence in prison than if we had been free." From persecution to great joy - just like in the early church. When "great persecution broke out" (Acts 8:1), "those who had been scattered preached the word wherever they went" (v. 4). As a result, there was "great joy" in a city in Samaria (v. 8). When forces in our world stand against the truths and teachings of Scripture - especially the gospel - that's not the time to give up. God moves in powerful ways when the church faces such difficulties. Peter said, "Do not be surprised" at such fiery trials (1 Peter 4:12). In such cases you're "blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you" (v. 14). God has the power to turn persecution into something precious. Reflect & Pray How does persecution both trouble you and encourage you? Why do you think it can lead to joy? Dear God, please help me remain faithful to You. Discover the rich story of how the Church sprung up from these circumstances. 3) Daily verses taken from Billy Graham Evangelical Organisation Words in Season Scripture Memory Tools Week 8 Guided by Grace Day 1 A circle of Light John 8:12 12 (Jn 12:35; Job 33:28; Isa 49:6)Again, Jesus spoke to them, saying, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me shall not walk in the darkness, but shall have the light of life." 12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. When Judy Garland stepped onstage, she filled the spotlight. Nothing was illuminated but her face, and as she sang, her listeners had a sense of being transported beyond themselves into the meaning of her song. The focus of reality, at that moment, was "Judy", and everything else faded into the dim recesses of the shadowed room. The spotlight brought her into sharp focus as the center of attention, and all around her was darkness. When the scriptures speaks of Jesus as "the light," the image is not of thousands of blazing bulbs lighting up a football field for a night game. Rather, he is like a hand-help lamp that throws a circle of light in the immediate vicinity. such a lamp lights the path that a traveler will walk, but lights it only one step at a time. Jesus is the center of that circle of light. As we follow him, we share the light, but he is always at center. Jesus Christ is the focal point, and everything else fades into dim gray by comparison. If we are to keep our lives illuminated, to have his light falling upon the road we walk, we must stay close to him. Jesus does not hand the lamp to us and suggest that we go the way he wants; he , the Light, leads, and if we want to stay in the light, we follow. Application a) Have I ever tried to go my own way, apart from the Light? What was the result? b) How can this verse help me remember the importance of staying close to Jesus? 4) From Prosperity Promises - Kenneth Copeland Is 55:11 11 (Isa 45:23; 46:10) so shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. 11 so shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. 5) From a Book called God's Promises for you: When you are ill or injured James 5:13-16 13 (Ps 50:15; Eph 5:19) Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone merry? Let him sing psalms. 14 (Mk 6:13; 16:18; Ac 14:23) Is anyone sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 (Isa 33:24; Jas 1:6) And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed any sins, he will be forgiven. 16 (Ge 20:17; 18:23-32) Confess your faults to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man accomplishes much. 13 Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms. 14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: 15 and the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. 16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. Remember God's promises when You pray The Lord's prayer Matthew 6:9-13 9 "Therefore pray in this manner: Our Father who is in heaven, hallowed be Your name. 10 (Mt 3:2; 4:17) Your kingdom come; Your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. 11 (Pr 30:8; Isa 33:16) Give us this day our daily bread. 12 (Ex 34:7; Ps 32:1) And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. 13 (1Co 10:13; Jn 17:15) And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen." 9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. 10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. 6) This come from Praying for Muslims in Canada 2015 (Is there a 2021 edition?) Newfoundland & Labrador Total population 527000 Muslim population (est.) 2065 As of Autumn 2014, St. John's does not have a local CNMM network. Pray with us for God's people to come together in prayer and cooperative efforts to reach Muslims with the Good News. St. John's has one mosque and 2 more musallas , or prayer locations, which may grow into mosques of their own. The mosque is called Masjid an Noor, The Mosque of the Light, and mosque historical documents record a trip in 1986 to Saudi Arabia to raise funds for the land purchase and construction costs. A small number of Muslim families had come prior to 1964, but moved on to other places after a short time. After this date, a small community began to remain and grow , reaching about 25 families in the 1980s. A number of international students also join the community annually ranging from 25 to 60. In 2014 the mosque website reports the community is made up of some 200 families and many university students attending Memorial University. A small number of native Newfoundlanders have also converted to the Islamic faith, one saying of this religion in Newfoundland, "Islam is a growing face". With the growth of the community, the current challenge is lack of space in the mosque, which they are now looking at expanding. Pray for - The true Light of life, Jesus Christ, to be revealed to Muslims in Newfoundland through the word, dreams, visions and answers to prayer. - Christians to be as "wise as serpents and harmless as doves" regarding Islam and reaching out in loving witness to Muslims in St. John's. - for a dedicated, intentional witness to the growing number of Muslim students on the university, college and trade school campuses. Adding further 30 days of prayer for the Muslim World 24 April to 23 May 2020 Under the Keep Praying page When the new moon is sighted it marks the beginning of t he new Islamic month and Eid al-Fitr, the "Festival of Breaking the Fast", will start! After 30 days of fasting, the Eid celebration at the end of Ramadan is a joyful time that usually lasts about 3 days. Muslims will buy new clothes, exchange gifts and, of course, enjoy special foods. In Muslim-majority nations, the streets may be decorated and festivals will be held. For many Muslims, Eid-al-Fitr begins with communal prayers at daybreak and the distribution of money (zakat) to the poor, which is one of the 5 pillars of Islam. You can greet Muslim friends during this time by saying "Eid Mubarak", which means Blessed Eid!" Ramadan is over for this year, but you can continue to pray for Muslims you know, and Muslims around the world: - Despite the unsettling developments in our world today that involve actions in the name of Islam, there is at the same time a largely untold story about unprecedented movement to Christ among Muslims. There have been more such movements of thousands or more new disciples among Muslims in the last three decades or so than in all the previous history of Christian Muslim relationships! Pray for this momentum to continue. Acts 2:12-17 : 17 12 They were all amazed and perplexed, saying to each other, "What does this mean?" 13 (1Co 14:23) Others mocking said, "These men are full of new wine." Peter's Speech at Pentecost 14 (Ac 1:26) But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice and said to them, "Men of Judea and all you who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and listen to my words. 15 For these are not drunk, as you suppose, since it is the third hour of the day. 16 But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel: 17 (Isa 44:3; Ac 10:45) 'In the last days it shall be,' says God, 'that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.' - Pray for Christian workers an organisations focused on seeing effective discipleship movements among Muslim people. - Ask the Holy Spirit to continue to inspire you to have god's heart for Muslims, to see them as He does, and to be the light that then to Jesus. Matthew 5:14-15 : 14 "You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do men light a candle and put it under a basket, but on a candlestick. And it gives light to all who are in the house." Ideas for prayer - Pray for opportunities to show the love of Christ to Muslims around you - Pray for, and offer generous hospitality to, those you know who are serving Christ among Muslim people - Romans 12:13 "contribute to the needs of the saints, practice hospitality." - When you gather with fellow believers, remember to pray for Muslims throughout the year and encourage them to also participate in 30 Days!
