LEVITICUS 1

The Burnt Offering

1 (Ex 19:3; 25:22) And the Lord called Moses and spoke to him 
from the tent of meeting, saying: 
2 (Lev 22:18-19) Speak to the children of Israel and say to them:
 When an individual among you brings an offering to the Lord, 
you shall bring your offering from the livestock, either from
 the herd or from the flock.
3 (Ex 12:5; Dt 15:21) If his offering is a burnt sacrifice, 
and it is from the herd, he shall offer a male without blemish.
At the door of the tent of meeting, he shall offer it 
of his own free will before the Lord. 
4 (Ex 29:10; 29:15) Then he shall lay his hand on the head
 of the burnt offering, and it shall be accepted for him 
to make atonement To appease wrath, remove sin, 
and reconcile with God. for him. 
5 (Lev 1:11; 3:8; 3:2) And he shall slaughter the bull before the Lord,
and the sons of Aaron, the priests, shall bring the blood and sprinkle
 the blood on all the sides of the altar that is at the door of 
he tent of meeting. 
6 (Lev 7:8) Then he shall skin the burnt offering and cut it up into parts.
7 (Ge 22:9; Lev 6:12-13) The sons of Aaron the priest shall put fire 
on the altar and arrange the wood on the fire. 
8 Then the priests, the sons of Aaron, shall arrange the parts, 
with the head and the fat, on the wood that is on the fire
that is on the altar. 
9 (Lev 1:13; Ge 8:21; Eph 5:2) But he shall wash its entrails 
and its legs in water, and the priest shall burn everything 
on the altar. It is a burnt sacrifice, a food offering made 
by fire, which is a pleasing aroma for the Lord.
10 If his gift for a burnt offering is from the flocks, 
whether from the sheep or from the goats, 
he shall bring a male without blemish. 
11 (Lev 1:5) He shall slaughter it 
at the north side of the altar before the Lord. 
And the sons of Aaron, the priests, 
shall sprinkle its blood on all the sides of the altar. 
12 He shall cut it up into parts, with its head and its fat,
 and the priest shall arrange them on the wood that is 
on the fire that is on the altar. 
13 But he shall wash the entrails and the legs with water.
 The priest shall bring it all and burn it on the altar.
 It is a burnt sacrifice, a food offering made by fire,
 which is a pleasing aroma for the Lord.
14 (Lev 5:7; Lk 2:24)If his offering to the Lord is 
a burnt sacrifice of birds, then he shall bring his offering
 from turtledoves or from young pigeons. 
15 The priest shall bring it to the altar, wring off its head,
 and burn it on the altar. Its blood shall be drained 
out on the side of the altar. 
16 He shall remove its entrails with its feathers 
and throw it to the east side of the altar to the place of the ashes.
17 (Ge 15:10) And he shall split it open by its wings, 
but not tear it in two. The priest shall burn it on the altar 
on the wood that is on the fire. It is a burnt sacrifice, 
a food offering made by fire, which is a pleasing aroma for the Lord.

Leviticus 1
[1] And the LORD called unto Moses, and spake unto him out of the tabernacle
of the congregation, saying,
[2] Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, If any man of you
bring an offering unto the LORD, ye shall bring your offering of the cattle,
even of the herd, and of the flock.
[3] If his offering be a burnt sacrifice of the herd, let him offer a male
without blemish: he shall offer it of his own voluntary will at the door of
the tabernacle of the congregation before the LORD.
[4] And he shall put his hand upon the head of the burnt offering; and it
shall be accepted for him to make atonement for him.
[5] And he shall kill the bullock before the LORD: and the priests, Aaron's
sons, shall bring the blood, and sprinkle the blood round about upon the
altar that is by the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
[6] And he shall flay the burnt offering, and cut it into his pieces.
[7] And the sons of Aaron the priest shall put fire upon the altar, and lay
the wood in order upon the fire:
[8] And the priests, Aaron's sons, shall lay the parts, the head, and the
fat, in order upon the wood that is on the fire which is upon the altar:
[9] But his inwards and his legs shall he wash in water: and the priest
shall burn all on the altar, to be a burnt sacrifice, an offering made by
fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD.
[10] And if his offering be of the flocks, namely, of the sheep, or of the
goats, for a burnt sacrifice; he shall bring it a male without blemish.
[11] And he shall kill it on the side of the altar northward before the
LORD: and the priests, Aaron's sons, shall sprinkle his blood round about
upon the altar.
[12] And he shall cut it into his pieces, with his head and his fat: and the
priest shall lay them in order on the wood that is on the fire which is upon
the altar:
[13] But he shall wash the inwards and the legs with water: and the priest
shall bring it all, and burn it upon the altar: it is a burnt sacrifice, an
offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD.
[14] And if the burnt sacrifice for his offering to the LORD be of fowls,
then he shall bring his offering of turtledoves, or of young pigeons.
[15] And the priest shall bring it unto the altar, and wring off his head,
and burn it on the altar; and the blood thereof shall be wrung out at the
side of the altar:
[16] And he shall pluck away his crop with his feathers, and cast it beside
the altar on the east part, by the place of the ashes:
[17] And he shall cleave it with the wings thereof, but shall not divide it
asunder: and the priest shall burn it upon the altar, upon the wood that is
upon the fire: it is a burnt sacrifice, an offering made by fire, of a sweet
savour unto the LORD.

LEVITICUS 2

The Grain Offering

1 (Lev 6:14-18; 9:17) When a person offers a grain offering to the Lord,
his offering shall be of wheat flour. He shall pour olive oil on it 
and put frankincense on it. 
2 (Lev 5:12; 6:15; 2:9) And he shall bring it to the sons of Aaron, 
the priests, and he shall scoop out a handful of the flour and its oil, 
along with all its frankincense. And the priest shall burn 
this memorial portion on the altar, a food offering made by fire, 
which is a pleasing aroma for the Lord. 
3 (Lev 10:12-13; 6:16-17) And the remainder of the grain offering 
shall belong to Aaron and to his sons, which is a most holy part 
of the food offerings to the Lord made by fire.
4 (Ex 29:2) When you bring an oven-baked grain offering, it shall be
unleavened cakes of fine flour mixed with oil or unleavened wafers 
spread with oil. 
5 If your offering is grain on a griddle, it shall be of unleavened 
wheat flour mixed with olive oil. 
6 Break it into pieces and pour oil on it. It is a grain offering. 
7 If your offering is grain in a skillet, it shall be made of wheat flour
in olive oil. 
8 You shall bring the grain offering that is made of these things 
to the Lord, and when it is presented to the priest, 
he shall take it to the altar. 
9 (Lev 2:2; Ex 29:18; Lev 6:15) The priest shall remove a memorial
portion from the grain offering and burn it on the altar, a food offering
made by fire, which is a pleasing aroma for the Lord. 
10 (Lev 2:3) The remainder of the grain offering shall belong to Aaron 
and to his sons, which is a most holy part of the food offerings 
to the Lord made by fire.
11 (Ex 12:19-20; 23:18) No grain offering that you bring to the Lord 
shall be made with leaven, for you shall not burn leaven nor any honey
 as a food offering by fire to the Lord. 
12 (Ex 23:19) As an offering of first fruits, 
you may offer them to the Lord, 
but they shall not be offered on the altar for a pleasing aroma. 
13 (Eze 43:24; Nu 18:19; 2Ch 13:5) You shall season all your grain offerings
with salt. You shall not fail to use the salt of the covenant of your God 
on your grain offering. With all your offerings you shall offer salt.
14 (Lev 23:10) If you offer a grain offering of your first fruits 
to the Lord, you shall offer for the grain offering of your first fruits
fresh ripe grain roasted by fire, coarsely ground new grain. 
15 You shall put olive oil on it and frankincense on it.
It is a grain offering
16 The priest shall burn its memorial portion 
and some of its coarsely ground new grain and oil, 
along with all its frankincense as a food 
offering made by fire to the Lord.

Leviticus 2
[1] And when any will offer a meat offering unto the LORD, his offering
shall be of fine flour; and he shall pour oil upon it, and put frankincense
thereon:
[2] And he shall bring it to Aaron's sons the priests: and he shall take
thereout his handful of the flour thereof, and of the oil thereof, with all
the frankincense thereof; and the priest shall burn the memorial of it upon
the altar, to be an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD:
[3] And the remnant of the meat offering shall be Aaron's and his sons': it
is a thing most holy of the offerings of the LORD made by fire.
[4] And if thou bring an oblation of a meat offering baken in the oven, it
shall be unleavened cakes of fine flour mingled with oil, or unleavened
wafers anointed with oil.
[5] And if thy oblation be a meat offering baken in a pan, it shall be of
fine flour unleavened, mingled with oil.
[6] Thou shalt part it in pieces, and pour oil thereon: it is a meat offering.
[7] And if thy oblation be a meat offering baken in the fryingpan, it shall
be made of fine flour with oil.
[8] And thou shalt bring the meat offering that is made of these things unto
the LORD: and when it is presented unto the priest, he shall bring it unto
the altar.
[9] And the priest shall take from the meat offering a memorial thereof,
and shall burn it upon the altar: it is an offering made by fire, of a sweet
savour unto the LORD.
[10] And that which is left of the meat offering shall be Aaron's and his
sons': it is a thing most holy of the offerings of the LORD made by fire.
[11] No meat offering, which ye shall bring unto the LORD, shall be made
with leaven: for ye shall burn no leaven, nor any honey, in any offering of
the LORD made by fire.
[12] As for the oblation of the firstfruits, ye shall offer them unto the
LORD: but they shall not be burnt on the altar for a sweet savour.
[13] And every oblation of thy meat offering shalt thou season with salt;
neither shalt thou suffer the salt of the covenant of thy God to be lacking
from thy meat offering: with all thine offerings thou shalt offer salt.
[14] And if thou offer a meat offering of thy firstfruits unto the LORD,
thou shalt offer for the meat offering of thy firstfruits green ears of
corn dried by the fire, even corn beaten out of full ears.
[15] And thou shalt put oil upon it, and lay frankincense thereon: it is a
meat offering.
[16] And the priest shall burn the memorial of it, part of the beaten corn
thereof, and part of the oil thereof, with all the frankincense thereof: it
is an offering made by fire unto the LORD. 

LEVITICUS 3

The Peace Offering

1 (Lev 1:3; Nu 6:14) If his offering is a peace sacrifice, 
and if he is offering from the herd, 
whether male or female, then he shall offer it 
without blemish before the Lord. 
2 (Ex 29:10; Lev 1:4-5) He shall lay his hand on the head of his offering
and slaughter it at the door of the tent of meeting, and the sons of Aaron,
the priests, shall sprinkle the blood on the sides of the altar. 
3 (Ex 29:13; 29:22) He shall offer from the peace sacrifice, 
as a food offering made by fire to the Lord, the fat that covers
the entrails and all the fat that is on the entrails, 
4 (Lev 3:10) and the two kidneys with the fat that is above them,
which is on the loins, and the appendage on the liver 
which he shall remove with the kidneys. 
5 (Lev 6:12; Ex 29:13) Then the sons of Aaron shall burn it on the altar
on the burnt sacrifice that is on the wood that is on the fire, 
as a food offering made by fire, which is a pleasing aroma for the Lord.
6 If his offering for a peace sacrifice to the Lord is from the flock, 
male or female, he shall offer it without blemish. 
7 (1Ki 8:62) If he is offering a sheep for his offering, 
he shall offer it before the Lord. 
8 (Lev 1:5) He shall lay his hand upon the head of his offering 
and slaughter it before the tent of meeting, 
and the sons of Aaron shall sprinkle its blood on the sides of the altar.
9 (Ex 29:22; Lev 9:19) He shall offer from the peace sacrifice, 
a food offering made by fire for the Lord, its fat, 
and the whole fatty tail which he shall remove close to the backbone,
and the fat that covers the entrails, 
and all the fat that is on the entrails, 
10 and the two kidneys with the fat that is above them, 
which is on the loins, and the appendage on the liver which he shall 
remove with the kidneys. 
11 (Lev 21:6; 21:17) The priest shall burn it on the altar 
as a food offering made by fire for the Lord.
12 If his offering is a goat, he shall offer it before the Lord. 
13 (Lev 3:8) He shall lay his hand on its head and slaughter it
before the tent of meeting, and the sons of Aaron shall sprinkle
its blood on the sides of the altar. 
14 He shall offer from it as his offering, 
an offering made by fire for the Lord, the fat that covers the entrails
and all the fat that is on the entrails, 
15 and the two kidneys with the fat that is above them, 
which is on the loins, and the appendage on the liver 
which he shall remove with the kidneys. 
16 (Lev 7:23-25; 1Sa 2:15-16) The priest shall burn them 
on the altar as a food offering made by fire for a pleasing aroma.
All the fat belongs to the Lord.
17 (Ge 9:4; Lev 6:18) As a continual statute for your generations
in all your settlements, you shall not eat any fat or any blood.. 

Leviticus 3
[1] And if his oblation be a sacrifice of peace offering, if he offer it of
the herd; whether it be a male or female, he shall offer it without blemish
before the LORD.
[2] And he shall lay his hand upon the head of his offering, and kill it at
the door of the tabernacle of the congregation: and Aaron's sons the priests
shall sprinkle the blood upon the altar round about.
[3] And he shall offer of the sacrifice of the peace offering an offering
made by fire unto the LORD; the fat that covereth the inwards, and all the
fat that is upon the inwards,
[4] And the two kidneys, and the fat that is on them, which is by the
flanks, and the caul above the liver, with the kidneys, it shall he take away.
[5] And Aaron's sons shall burn it on the altar upon the burnt sacrifice,
which is upon the wood that is on the fire: it is an offering made by fire,
of a sweet savour unto the LORD.
[6] And if his offering for a sacrifice of peace offering unto the LORD be
of the flock; male or female, he shall offer it without blemish.
[7] If he offer a lamb for his offering, then shall he offer it before the
LORD.
[8] And he shall lay his hand upon the head of his offering, and kill it
before the tabernacle of the congregation: and Aaron's sons shall sprinkle
the blood thereof round about upon the altar.
[9] And he shall offer of the sacrifice of the peace offering an offering
made by fire unto the LORD; the fat thereof, and the whole rump, it shall he
take off hard by the backbone; and the fat that covereth the inwards, and
all the fat that is upon the inwards,
[10] And the two kidneys, and the fat that is upon them, which is by the
flanks, and the caul above the liver, with the kidneys, it shall he take away.
[11] And the priest shall burn it upon the altar: it is the food of the
offering made by fire unto the LORD.
[12] And if his offering be a goat, then he shall offer it before the LORD.
[13] And he shall lay his hand upon the head of it, and kill it before the
tabernacle of the congregation: and the sons of Aaron shall sprinkle the
blood thereof upon the altar round about.
[14] And he shall offer thereof his offering, even an offering made by fire
unto the LORD; the fat that covereth the inwards, and all the fat that is
upon the inwards,
[15] And the two kidneys, and the fat that is upon them, which is by the
flanks, and the caul above the liver, with the kidneys, it shall he take away.
[16] And the priest shall burn them upon the altar: it is the food of the
offering made by fire for a sweet savour: all the fat is the LORD's.
[17] It shall be a perpetual statute for your generations throughout all
your dwellings, that ye eat neither fat nor blood.

LEVITICUS 4

The Sin Offering

1 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: 
2 (Lev 4:27; Ps 19:12) Speak to the children of Israel, saying:
When a person sins unintentionally against any of the commandments 
of the Lord that should not be done, and he violates one of them, 
3 (Lev 4:14; 9:2) if the anointed priest sins, so as to bring guilt
on the people, he shall bring for his sin that he has committed 
a bull without blemish to the Lord for a sin offering. 
4 (Lev 1:3-4) He shall bring the bull to the opening of the tent 
of meeting before the Lord, and he shall lay his hand on the bull's head
and slaughter the bull before the Lord. 
5 (Lev 16:14; 4:16-17) The anointed priest shall take some 
of the bull's blood and bring it into the tent of meeting. 
6 The priest shall dip his finger in the blood and sprinkle 
some of the blood seven times before the Lord in front of the veil 
of the sanctuary. 
7 (Lev 8:15; 9:9; 16:18) Then the priest shall put some of the blood
on the horns of the altar of fragrant incense before the Lord 
which is in the tent of meeting, and shall pour the rest of the blood
of the bull at the base of the altar of the burnt offering which is 
at the door of the tent of meeting. 
8 (Lev 3:3-5) Then he shall remove all the fat of the bull that is 
for the sin offering - the fat that covers the entrails - and all the fat 
that is on the entrails, 
9 (Lev 3:4) and the two kidneys with the fat that is above them, 
which is on the loins, and the appendage on the liver 
which he shall remove with the kidneys, 
10 just as these are removed from the bull of the peace sacrifice,
and the priest shall burn them on the altar of the burnt offering. 
11 (Nu 19:5; Ex 29:14) The skin of the bull, and all its flesh, 
with its head, its legs, its entrails, and its dung, 
12 (Heb 13:11; Ex 29:14) all the rest of the bull, 
he shall bring outside the camp to a ritually clean
("Clean: and "unclean" refer to ceremonial aspects of places,
 objects, or people.) place at the ash pile and burn it on wood 
with fire. It shall be burned on the ash heap.
13 (Lev 5:17; 5:2-5) If the whole congregation of Israel 
commits an unintentional sin, and the matter is hidden 
from the eyes of the assembly, and they do any one of the things
that by the commandments of the Lord should not be done, 
and they are found guilty, 
14 (Lev 4:3; 4:23) and the sin that they committed 
against the commandment becomes known, 
the congregation shall offer a bull for a sin offering,
and they will bring it before the tent of meeting. 
15 (Lev 1:4) The elders of the congregation shall lay 
their hands on the head of the bull before the Lord, 
and the bull will be slaughtered before the Lord. 
16 (Lev 4:5-12) The anointed priest shall bring 
some of the bull's blood to the tent of meeting. 
17 And the priest shall dip his finger in some of the blood 
and sprinkle it seven times before the Lord in front of the veil. 
18 He shall put some of the blood on the horns of the altar that is before
the Lord, which is in the tent of meeting, and he shall pour all the rest
of the blood at the base of the altar of the burnt offering that is 
at the opening of the tent of meeting. 
19 He shall remove all the fat from it and burn it on the altar. 
20 (Nu 15:25; Heb 10:10-12) He shall do to this bull just 
as he did to the bull of the sin offering; 
this is what he will do to it. 
And the priest shall make atonement for them, and they shall be forgiven.
21 (Lev 16:15) He shall bring the bull outside the camp, 
and he shall burn it just as he burned the first bull. 
It is the sin offering of the congregation.
22 (Lev 4:2; 4:13) Whenever a leader sins, 
and he does unintentionally any one of the things that 
by the commandments of the Lord his God should not be done
and is found guilty, 
23 (Lev 4:14) or his sin that he committed was made known to him,
he shall bring as his offering a male goat without blemish, 
24 and he shall lay his hand on the head of the goat, 
and he shall slaughter it in the place where they slaughter 
the burnt offering before the Lord. It is a sin offering. 
25 (Lev 4:7; 4:18) The priest shall take some of the blood 
of the sin offering on his finger and put it on the horns 
of the altar of the burnt offering, and he shall pour out its blood
at the base of the altar of the burnt offering. 
26 (Lev 4:20; 3:5) And he shall burn all its fat on the altar,
like the fat of the peace sacrifice, and the priest shall make
atonement for him for his sin, and he shall be forgiven.
27 (Lev 4:2; Nu 15:27; Lev 4:13) If any one of the common people
should sin unintentionally by doing one of the things 
that by the commandments of the Lord should not be done, 
and is found guilty, 
28 (Lev 4:23; 4:3; 4:32) or his sin that he committed
was made known to him, he shall bring as his offering
a female goat without blemish, for his sin that he committed.
29 (Lev 4:4; 4:24) He shall lay his hand on the head of the sin offering,
and he shall slaughter the sin offering in the place of the burnt offering.
30 (Lev 4:7; 4:25) The priest shall take some of its blood on his finger 
and put it on the horns of the altar of the burnt offering,
and he shall pour out the rest of its blood at the base of the altar.
31 (Lev 4:26; 4:35; 1:9) And he shall remove all its fat, 
just as the fat is removed from the peace sacrifice, 
and the priest shall burn it on the altar for a pleasing aroma to the Lord,
and the priest shall make atonement for him, and he shall be forgiven.
32 (Lev 4:28; 1Pe 2:22; 3:18) And if he brings a sheep for a sin offering,
he shall bring a female without blemish, 
33 and lay his hand on the head of the sin offering, and he shall
slaughter it for a sin offering in the place where they slaughter 
the burnt offering. 
34 (Lev 4:7; 4:25) The priest shall take some of the blood 
of the sin offering on his finger and put it on the horns
of the altar of the burnt offering, and all the rest of its blood
he shall pour out at the base of the altar. 
35 (Lev 4:26; 4:20) And he shall remove all the fat, just as 
the fat of the sheep is removed from the peace sacrifice, 
and the priest shall burn it on the altar as a food offering 
to the Lord made by fire. And the priest shall make atonement
 for his sin that he committed, and he shall be forgiven.

Leviticus 4
[1] And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
[2] Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a soul shall sin through
ignorance against any of the commandments of the LORD concerning things
which ought not to be done, and shall do against any of them:
[3] If the priest that is anointed do sin according to the sin of the
people; then let him bring for his sin, which he hath sinned, a young
bullock without blemish unto the LORD for a sin offering.
[4] And he shall bring the bullock unto the door of the tabernacle of the
congregation before the LORD; and shall lay his hand upon the bullock's
head, and kill the bullock before the LORD.
[5] And the priest that is anointed shall take of the bullock's blood, and
bring it to the tabernacle of the congregation:
[6] And the priest shall dip his finger in the blood, and sprinkle of the
blood seven times before the LORD, before the vail of the sanctuary.
[7] And the priest shall put some of the blood upon the horns of the altar
of sweet incense before the LORD, which is in the tabernacle of the
congregation: and shall pour all the blood of the bullock at the bottom of
the altar of the burnt offering, which is at the door of the tabernacle of
the congregation.
[8] And he shall take off from it all the fat of the bullock for the sin
offering; the fat that covereth the inwards, and all the fat that is upon
the inwards,
[9] And the two kidneys, and the fat that is upon them, which is by the
flanks, and the caul above the liver, with the kidneys, it shall he take away,
[10] As it was taken off from the bullock of the sacrifice of peace
offerings: and the priest shall burn them upon the altar of the burnt 
offering.
[11] And the skin of the bullock, and all his flesh, with his head, and with
his legs, and his inwards, and his dung,
[12] Even the whole bullock shall he carry forth without the camp unto a
clean place, where the ashes are poured out, and burn him on the wood with
fire: where the ashes are poured out shall he be burnt.
[13] And if the whole congregation of Israel sin through ignorance, and the
thing be hid from the eyes of the assembly, and they have done somewhat
against any of the commandments of the LORD concerning things which should
not be done, and are guilty;
[14] When the sin, which they have sinned against it, is known, then the
congregation shall offer a young bullock for the sin, and bring him before
the tabernacle of the congregation.
[15] And the elders of the congregation shall lay their hands upon the head
of the bullock before the LORD: and the bullock shall be killed before the
LORD.
[16] And the priest that is anointed shall bring of the bullock's blood to
the tabernacle of the congregation:
[17] And the priest shall dip his finger in some of the blood, and sprinkle
it seven times before the LORD, even before the vail.
[18] And he shall put some of the blood upon the horns of the altar which is
before the LORD, that is in the tabernacle of the congregation, and shall
pour out all the blood at the bottom of the altar of the burnt offering,
which is at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
[19] And he shall take all his fat from him, and burn it upon the altar.
[20] And he shall do with the bullock as he did with the bullock for a sin
offering, so shall he do with this: and the priest shall make an atonement
for them, and it shall be forgiven them.
[21] And he shall carry forth the bullock without the camp, and burn him as
he burned the first bullock: it is a sin offering for the congregation.
[22] When a ruler hath sinned, and done somewhat through ignorance against
any of the commandments of the LORD his God concerning things which should
not be done, and is guilty;
[23] Or if his sin, wherein he hath sinned, come to his knowledge; he shall
bring his offering, a kid of the goats, a male without blemish:
[24] And he shall lay his hand upon the head of the goat, and kill it in the
place where they kill the burnt offering before the LORD: it is a sin
offering.
[25] And the priest shall take of the blood of the sin offering with his

Friendship With the World

1 (Ro 7:23; 1Pe 2:11) Where do wars and fights among you come from?
Do they not come from your lusts that war in your body?
2 You lust and do not have, so you kill.
You desire to have and cannot obtain. You fight and war.
Yet you do not have, because you do not ask.

After years of struggle and crying out in prayer, Frank quit drinking. He 
attributes his continued sobriety to God's work in his life. But he also made 
some important changes. He no longer kept alcohol in the house, watched for 
warning signs in his thinking and moods, and was wary of certain situations. 
He leaned on God and knew not to leave an opening for temptation or sin.

"Be alert and of sober mind," the apostle Peter warned. "Your enemy the devil 
prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour" 
(1 Peter 5:8). Peter knew we needed to be watchful because the devil's attacks
are often unexpected—when it seems like our life couldn’t be better, or we 
think we'd never be tempted in a certain area.

James too warned his readers to submit to God and "resist the devil." When we 
do, our enemy "will flee" (James 4:7). The best way to resist him is to stay 
close to God through prayer and time in Scripture. When we do, God comes near 
to us (v. 8) through His Spirit (Romans 5:5). James also offered this 
encouragement: "Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up"
(James 4:10).

We all face challenging moments in life when we're tempted and struggle. 
We can rest knowing that God wants us to succeed and overcome. 
He is with us in our troubles.

Week 6 Showing Grace to Others - Day 6 Reconciliation

2 Cor 5:18-19

18 All this is from God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ
and has given to us the ministry of reconciliation,
19 that is, that God was
in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their sins
against them, and has entrusted to us the message of reconciliation.

18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus
Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
19 to wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself,
not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us
the word of reconciliation.

When Paul writes in 2 Cor 5:17 that we become a "new creation" in Christ
Jesus, the story does not end there. The verses following give us direction
for tht new life in Christ. "All This", Paul says, referring to the miracle of
new life in Christ, "is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ
and gave us the ministry of reconciliation."
Reconciliation means to bring back together what was once separated. Man was
separated from God by sin, and God took the initiative to reconcile man to
himself. Our "ministry of reconciliation" as Christians is twofold: to draw
others to the Lord and to work for reconciliation between individuals.
Reconciliation is the ultimate goal of forgiveness. God, through his grace ,
extends forgiveness to us when we are still sinners, unrepentant,
undeserving. When we respond, we come into reconciliation with him
and are brought back into oneness. Likewise, when we extend the grace
of forgiveness to another, we are set free by the act of forgiving, but we
hope that the ultimate outcome will be reconciliation.
God shows us the pattern: he is the wronged party, yet he does not wait for
the offender to come to him, hat in hand. He takes a bold initiative, offering
forgiveness freely with out regard to merit. The pattern applies to us;
as the new life in Christ takes hold of us, we must reach out, and reach,
and keep on reaching, breaking down the barriers, taking the risk of
rejection so that we may come to reconciliation.

Application

b) How can I take a risk and reach out to offer forgiveness and
reconciliation to them?

c) What kind of attitude do I need to be a "minister of reconciliation"?

It is estimated that Calgary has 82000 Muslims and Edmonton another 50000 .
Alberta may have a total as high as 195240 today.
Calgary is notable as the first Canadian city with a Muslim mayor.  It's
become a prominent place of Islamic fundamentalism.
Edmonton's Muslim population is very diverse, with the largest group
coming from Tanzania, followed by Somalia, and then North African countries 
such as Egypt, Morocco, etc.
Muslims are coming to faith in Jesus! They overcome huge spiritual,
emotional and cultural hurdles to follow Christ. Yet their challenges still 
continue, especially in growing in discipleship. They often fell lost in our
Western congregations, and equally lost trying to find a church body with whom
they can identify. some are even being lured into Christian cult groups.

Please join us in praying for:
- The church to reach out to the growing Muslim populations in Alberta.
- for Canadian churches to start contextualised discipleship ministries to
Muslim-background believers.
- for Muslm-background believers to be well grounded spiritually and socially
  in their faith and the Church.
- and for Muslim-background believers to share their faith with their 
not-yet-believing family and friendship networks.
- for Farsi and Arabic fellowships to grow in spiritual maturity and outreach.

When the new moon is sighted it marks the beginning of t he new Islamic month
and Eid al-Fitr, the "Festival of Breaking the Fast", will start! After 30 days
of fasting, the Eid  celebration at the end of Ramadan is a joyful time that 
usually lasts about 3 days. Muslims will buy new clothes, exchange gifts and,
of course, enjoy special foods. In Muslim-majority nations, the streets may be
decorated and festivals will be held.

For many Muslims, Eid-al-Fitr begins with communal prayers at daybreak and the
distribution of money (zakat) to the poor, which is one of the 5 pillars of
Islam.

You can greet Muslim friends during this time by saying "Eid Mubarak",
which means Blessed Eid!"

Ramadan is over for this year, but you can continue to pray for Muslims you 
know, and Muslims around the world:

- Despite the unsettling developments in our world today that involve actions
in the name of Islam, there is at the same time a largely untold story about
unprecedented movement to Christ among Muslims. There have been more such
movements of thousands or more new disciples among Muslims in the last three
decades or so than in all the previous history of Christian Muslim
relationships! Pray for this momentum to continue.
Acts 2:12-17 :  17 "In the last days it shall be," says God,
"that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; 
your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, 
your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.
18 Even on My menservants and maidservants 
I will pour out My Spirit in those days; and they shall prophesy. 
19 And I will show wonders in heaven above and signs on the earth below: 
blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke.  20 The sun shall be turned into darkness,
and the moon into blood, before that great and glorious day of the Lord comes.
21 And whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved."[a]

Ideas for prayer

- Pray for opportunities to show the love of Christ to Muslims around you
- Pray for, and offer generous hospitality to, those you know who are serving
Christ among Muslim people - 
Romans 12:13 "contribute to the needs of the saints, practice hospitality."
- When you gather with fellow believers, remember to pray for Muslims 
throughout the year and encourage them to also participate in 30 Days! 

My paternal side is of Muslim heritage and will offer this section to further
call for Muslim converts to Christian and any other converts to Christianity
(Hindus, Jews, aboriginals Canadian, ...) .

Pray to the Lord and pray that your work reflects the Lord's will.

Pray to the Lord and pray to know The LORD is my light and my salvation.
