This morning at <a href="https://www.calvarycommunity.ca">Calvary Community 
church</a> , Landon Regier Spoke on Living for Christ - Your life has been 
changed - What happens now?

1 Peter 4:1-6

1 Peter 4

Good Stewards of God's Grace
1 (Ro 6:7; 6:2) Therefore, since Christ has suffered for us in the flesh,
arm yourselves likewise with the same mind, for he who has suffered in
the flesh has ceased from sin,
2 (Mk 3:35; Ro 6:11) so that he no longer should live the rest of his time
in the flesh serving human desires, but the will of God.
3 (Isa 28:7; Eze 44:6) For in earlier times of our lives it may have
sufficed us to do what the Gentiles like to do, when we walked in immorality:
lusts, drunkenness, carousing, debauchery, and abominable idolatries.
4 (1Pe 3:16; 2:12) They are surprised that you do not join them in the same
excess of wild living, and so they speak evil of you.
5 (Ac 10:42; 2Ti 4:1) They will give account to Him who is ready to judge
the living and the dead.
6 (1Pe 3:19) For this reason the gospel was preached also to those who
are dead, so that even though they might be judged according to men
in the flesh, they might live according to God in the spirit.


[1] Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm

excess of riot, speaking evil of you:
[5] Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the quick and the
dead.
[6] For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead,
that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according
to God in the spirit.

Numbers 5:5-10

Restitution for Wrongs

5 The Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
6 Tell the children of Israel: When a man or woman commits
any sin against another, acting unfaithfully against the Lord,
that person is guilty,
7 (Lev 5:5; 26:40; Jos 7:19) and shall confess his sin which
he has committed, and he will repay his offense with its principal,
and add to it one-fifth, and give it to him who was wronged.
8 (Lev 6:6-7; 7:7) But if the man has no relative to repay the offense to,
let the offense be repaid to the Lord, even to the priest, beside the ram
of the atonement, whereby an atonement will be made for him.
9 (Ex 29:28; Lev 6:17-18) Every offering of all the holy things
of the children of Israel, which they bring to the priest, will be his.
10 Every man's holy things will be his. Whatever any man gives the priest,
it will be his. 

[5] And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
[6] Speak unto the children of Israel, When a man or woman shall commit any
sin that men commit, to do a trespass against the LORD, and that person be
guilty;
[7] Then they shall confess their sin which they have done: and he shall
recompense his trespass with the principal thereof, and add unto it the
fifth part thereof, and give it unto him against whom he hath trespassed.
[8] But if the man have no kinsman to recompense the trespass unto, let the
trespass be recompensed unto the LORD, even to the priest; beside the ram of
the atonement, whereby an atonement shall be made for him.
[9] And every offering of all the holy things of the children of Israel,
which they bring unto the priest, shall be his.
[10] And every man's hallowed things shall be his: whatsoever any man giveth
the priest, it shall be his. 

A judge used a unique approach to address shoplifting - sentencing offenders 
to wash cars in a local store's parking lot as part of their community 
service. He hoped it would deter future thefts and serve as a vivid reminder 
of the consequences of wrongdoing. He emphasized that actions have 
consequences and accountability matters.

The judge's sentence reflects the instruction in Numbers 5:6-7: "[One] who 
wrongs another . . . must confess the sin they have committed. They must 
make full restitution." In these verses, we see the importance God places 
on acknowledging wrongdoing, confessing sin, and seeking restoration. 
And they underscore a profound truth: Every offense revealed disloyalty 
to the ideals of Israel's society and showed that the offender 
was "unfaithful to the Lord" (v. 6).

Just as washing cars in public serves as a humbling consequence that 
encourages reflection and responsibility, God called Israel to recognise 
their sins honestly - confessing them and seeking forgiveness. True freedom
came when they confronted their actions, made amends, and embraced His grace.

Today, let's take a moment to reflect sincerely on our lives before God. As we
seek reconciliation and restitution where necessary (see Matthew 5:23-24; 
Luke 19:8-10), His mercy and forgiveness will restore us to wholeness.

How can you pursue reconciliation with someone you've wronged? 
Why is restitution so important?

Dear God, please show me where I've been wrong 
and help me pursue reconciliation and restitution.

Week 8 Guided by Grace Day 1 A circle of Light

John 8:12

12 (Jn 12:35; Job 33:28; Isa 49:6) Again, Jesus spoke to them, saying,
"I am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me
shall not walk in the darkness, but shall have the light of life."

12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world:
he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness,
but shall have the light of life.

When Judy Garland stepped onstage, she filled the spotlight. Nothing was
illuminated but her face, and as she sang, her listeners had a sense of being
transported beyond themselves into the meaning of her song. The focus of
reality, at that moment, was "Judy", and everything else faded into the dim
recesses of the shadowed room. The spotlight brought her into sharp focus
as the center of attention, and all around her was darkness.
When the scriptures speaks of Jesus as "the light," the image is not
of thousands of blazing bulbs lighting up a football field for a night game.
Rather, he is like a hand-help lamp that throws a circle of light in the
immediate vicinity. such a lamp lights the path that a traveler will walk,
but lights it only one step at a time.
Jesus is the center of that circle of light. As we follow him, we share the
light, but he is always at center. Jesus Christ is the focal point,
and everything else fades into dim gray by comparison.
If we are to keep our lives illuminated, to have his light falling upon the
road we walk, we must stay close to him. Jesus does not hand the lamp
to us and suggest that we go the way he wants; he , the Light, leads,
and if we want to stay in the light, we follow.

Application

a) Have I ever tried to go my own way, apart from the Light?

to Jesus?

Quick facts on Muslims in Manitoba

Manitoba 2015 population  1 282 000

est Muslim Population      21 349

CNMM Networks: Winnipeg

The Muslim population of Manitoba, understandably centred in Winnipeg, is very
diverse and represents some 48 different cultural and ethnic backgrounds. 
Conservative estimates put their number at 21000 , with some suggesting 
it might be twice that size.
Some outreach among Muslims has started, yet in comparison to the size 
of this community, there is the need and opportunity for far more engagement.
Continued influx of new immigrants and refugees continues to see the growth
of this Muslim centre in Manitoba. 
We rejoice in the Arabic fellowship meeting there and the energetic workers
among Muslims in Winnipeg.

Let us intercede in unity for:

- new Christian workers among Manitoba's growing Muslim population
- new church ministries focused on prayer, equipping and reaching Muslim 
  communities around them, as well as training new workers
- the Arabic fellowship and their ministries of discipling new Muslim
  background believers and for effectiveness in outreach
- for the recent Somali woman who found faith  in Jesus and stood her ground
  in the face of opposition to her new faith.
- for current workers among Muslims to be blessed, refreshed and encouraged
   with great support

How can we keep praying?

Pray for Muslims you know and those that live around you.

Ask those who are serving Christ among 
Muslim people how you can pray for them.

When you gather with fellow believers, remember to pray
for Muslims throughout the year and encourage them to also 
participate in 30 Days.

What should you pray for?

Pray for the leaders of Muslim-majority nations to pursue peace and freedom
in the places they govern.

Pray for Muslim groups, tribes and communities in different regions to have
access to the gospel and respond to the message of Christ.

Pray for families and individuals to know the blessings of God and to be
saved and come to a knowledge of the truth.

My paternal side is of Muslim heritage and will offer this section to further
call for Muslim converts to Christian and any other converts to Christianity
(Hindus, Jews, aboriginals Canadian, ...) .

that they would be lighthouses
beaming forth the illuminating truth of God's Word.

and booklet to turn many hearts to Jesus

Conclusion:

Pray to the Lord  to Stand in Salvation.

Pray to the Lord and pray to fear the Lord and walk in His ways and
lift up your eyes towards Heaven for He is Salvation.

Pray to the Lord: "Dear God, please show me where I've been wrong 
and help me pursue reconciliation and restitution."

Pray to the Lord and pray to know Jesus as the Light. 

Pray to the Lord and pray to know The Lord who hears the cry of the oppressed.

Pray to the Lord and pray to know Christ the Shepherd.

Agree in prayer with us for:
- new Christian workers among Manitoba's growing Muslim population
- new church ministries focused on prayer, equipping and reaching Muslim 
  communities around them, as well as training new workers
- the Arabic fellowship and their ministries of discipling new Muslim
  background believers and for effectiveness in outreach
- for the recent Somali woman who found faith  in Jesus and stood her ground
  in the face of opposition to her new faith.
- for current workers among Muslims to be blessed, refreshed and encouraged
   with great support

Pray for Muslims you know and those that live around you.

Ask those who are serving Christ among 
Muslim people how you can pray for them.

When you gather with fellow believers, remember to pray
for Muslims throughout the year and encourage them to also 
participate in 30 Days.

Pray for the leaders of Muslim-majority nations to pursue peace and freedom
in the places they govern.

Pray for Muslim groups, tribes and communities in different regions to have
access to the gospel and respond to the message of Christ.

Pray for families and individuals to know the blessings of God and to be
saved and come to a knowledge of the truth.

Pray the the Holy Spirit will influence our governmental leaders
as they make vital decisions that shape Society

Using Romans 5:3-5 as a guide, 
3 (Jas 1:2-3; 1:12) Not only so, but we also boast in tribulation,
knowing that tribulation produces patience,
4 (Jas 1:12) patience produces character, and character produces hope.
5 (Gal 4:6; Php 1:20) And hope does not disappoint, because the love of God
is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.
6 (Ro 4:25; 5:8) While we were yet weak, in due time Christ died
