Isaiah 18
An Oracle Concerning Ethiopia
1 (2Ki 19:9; Eze 30:4-5) Woe to the land vibrating with wings,
which is beyond the rivers of Ethiopia,
2 (Ge 10:8-9; 2Ch 12:2-4) which sends ambassadors by the sea,
even in vessels of reeds on the waters, saying,
"Go, swift messengers,
to a nation tall and smooth,
to a people feared far and wide,
a nation strong and oppressive,
whose land the rivers have divided."
3 (Isa 5:26; 26:11) All you inhabitants of the world,
and dwellers on the earth:
When he lifts up a banner on the mountains,
you will see it;
and when he blows a trumpet,
you will hear it.
4 (Isa 26:21; Hos 5:15) For so the Lord said to me:
I will look from My dwelling place quietly,
like dazzling heat in the sunshine,
like a cloud of dew in the heat of harvest.
5 (Eze 17:6-10) For before the harvest, when the bud is perfect
and the sour grape is ripening in the flower,
then He shall both cut off the sprigs with pruning hooks
and take away and cut down the branches.
6 (Jer 7:33; Eze 32:4-6) They shall be left together for the fowl
of the mountains
and for the beasts of the earth;
and the fowl shall spend the summer feeding on them,
and all the beasts of the earth shall spend the winter on them.
7 (Isa 45:14; Zep 3:10) In that time a present shall be brought
to the Lord of Hosts
from a people tall and smooth,
and from a people feared far and wide,
a nation strong and oppressive,
whose land the rivers have divided,
to the place of the name of the Lord of Hosts, even Mount Zion.

Isaiah 18
[1] Woe to the land shadowing with wings, which is beyond the rivers of
Ethiopia:
[2] That sendeth ambassadors by the sea, even in vessels of bulrushes upon
the waters, saying, Go, ye swift messengers, to a nation scattered and
peeled, to a people terrible from their beginning hitherto; a nation meted
out and trodden down, whose land the rivers have spoiled!
[3] All ye inhabitants of the world, and dwellers on the earth, see ye, when
he lifteth up an ensign on the mountains; and when he bloweth a trumpet,
hear ye.
[4] For so the LORD said unto me, I will take my rest, and I will consider
in my dwelling place like a clear heat upon herbs, and like a cloud of dew
in the heat of harvest.
[5] For afore the harvest, when the bud is perfect, and the sour grape is
ripening in the flower, he shall both cut off the sprigs with pruning hooks,
and take away and cut down the branches.
[6] They shall be left together unto the fowls of the mountains, and to the
beasts of the earth: and the fowls shall summer upon them, and all the
beasts of the earth shall winter upon them.
[7] In that time shall the present be brought unto the LORD of hosts of a
people scattered and peeled, and from a people terrible from their beginning
hitherto; a nation meted out and trodden under foot, whose land the rivers
have spoiled, to the place of the name of the LORD of hosts, the mount Zion.

Isaiah 19

An Oracle Concerning Egypt

1 (Ex 12:12; Jos 2:11) The oracle of Egypt.
See, the Lord is riding on a swift cloud
and shall come into Egypt;
and the idols of Egypt shall tremble at His presence,
and the heart of Egypt shall melt in its midst.
2 (Jdg 7:22; 1Sa 14:20) I will set the Egyptians against the Egyptians,
and they shall fight every one against his brother,
and every one against his neighbor,
city against city,
and kingdom against kingdom.
3 (Isa 8:19; Da 2:2; 1Ch 10:13) The spirit of Egypt shall be discouraged
in their midst,
and I will destroy their counsel;
then they shall seek for the idols and for the charmers
and for the mediums and the sorcerers.
4 (Isa 20:4; Jer 46:26) The Egyptians I will give over
into the hand of a cruel lord,
and a fierce king shall rule over them,
says the Lord, the Lord of Hosts.
5 (Jer 51:36; Eze 30:12) The waters from the sea shall dry up,
and the river shall be parched and dry.
6 (Isa 37:25; Ex 2:3) The canals shall emit a stench;
the streams of Egypt shall diminish and dry up;
the reeds and rushes shall wither.
7 The papyrus reeds by the brooks,
by the mouth of the brooks,
and everything sown by the brooks,
shall wither, be driven away, and be no more.
8 (Eze 47:10; Hab 1:15) The fishermen also shall mourn,
and all those who cast a line into the brooks shall lament,
and those who spread nets on the waters
shall languish.
9 (Eze 27:7; Pr 7:16) Moreover those who work with fine flax
and those who weave white cloth shall be humiliated;
10 and the pillars of Egypt shall be crushed.
All the hired workers shall be grieved in soul.
11 (Nu 13:22; 1Ki 4:30) Surely the princes of Zoan are fools;
the counsel of the wise counselors of Pharaoh has become stupid.
How can you say to Pharaoh,
"I am a son of the wise,
a son of ancient kings?"
12 (1Co 1:20) Where are they? Where are your wise men?
Let them tell you now, and let them understand
what the Lord of Hosts
has purposed against Egypt.
13 (Jer 2:16; Eze 30:13 ) The princes of Zoan have become fools;
the princes of Memphis are deceived;
they have also seduced Egypt,
even those who are the cornerstone of her tribes.
14 (Job 12:25; Jer 25:27) The Lord has mingled
a perverse spirit in her;
so they have caused Egypt to err in her every work,
as a drunken man staggers in his vomit.
15 (Isa 9:14-15) Nor shall there be any work for Egypt,
which its head or tail, its branch or bulrush, may do.
16 (Isa 11:15; Jer 51:30) In that day Egypt shall become like women.
And it shall be afraid and be in dread because of the shaking of the hand
of the Lord of Hosts which He is about to shake over it.
17 (Isa 14:24; Da 4:35) The land of Judah shall become a terror to Egypt.
Everyone to whom it is mentioned shall be in dread of it,
because of the counsel of the Lord of Hosts
which He has determined against it.
18 (Zep 3:9; Isa 19:21) In that day five cities in the land of Egypt
shall speak the language of Canaan and swear to the Lord of Hosts.
One shall be called the City of Destruction.
19 (Ge 28:18; Jos 22:10) In that day there shall be an altar to the Lord
in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar to the Lord at its border.
20It shall be for a sign and for a witness to the Lord of Hosts in the land
of Egypt. For they shall cry to the Lord because of the oppressors,
and He shall send them a Savior and a Champion. And He shall deliver them.
21 (Isa 11:9; Mal 1:11) The Lord shall be known to Egypt, and the Egyptians
shall know the Lord in that day, and shall worship with sacrifice
and offering, they shall make a vow to the Lord and perform it.
22 (Dt 32:39; Hos 14:1) The Lord shall strike Egypt. He shall strike
and heal it. Then they shall return to the Lord, and He shall be entreated
by them and shall heal them.
23 (Isa 11:16) In that day there shall be a highway out of Egypt to Assyria,
and the Assyrian shall come into Egypt, and the Egyptian into Assyria,
and the Egyptians shall worship with the Assyrians.
24 (Isa 65:8; Ge 12:2) In that day Israel shall be the third group
with Egypt and Assyria, even a blessing in the midst of the earth,
25 (Isa 29:23; Ps 100:3) whom the Lord of Hosts has blessed, saying,
"­Blessed is Egypt My people, and Assyria the work of My hands,
and Israel My inheritance."

Isaiah 19
[1] The burden of Egypt. Behold, the LORD rideth upon a swift cloud, and
shall come into Egypt: and the idols of Egypt shall be moved at his
presence, and the heart of Egypt shall melt in the midst of it.
[2] And I will set the Egyptians against the Egyptians: and they shall fight
every one against his brother, and every one against his neighbour; city
against city, and kingdom against kingdom.
[3] And the spirit of Egypt shall fail in the midst thereof; and I will
destroy the counsel thereof: and they shall seek to the idols, and to the
charmers, and to them that have familiar spirits, and to the wizards.
[4] And the Egyptians will I give over into the hand of a cruel lord; and a
fierce king shall rule over them, saith the Lord, the LORD of hosts.
[5] And the waters shall fail from the sea, and the river shall be wasted
and dried up.
[6] And they shall turn the rivers far away; and the brooks of defence shall
be emptied and dried up: the reeds and flags shall wither.
[7] The paper reeds by the brooks, by the mouth of the brooks, and every
thing sown by the brooks, shall wither, be driven away, and be no more.
[8] The fishers also shall mourn, and all they that cast angle into the
brooks shall lament, and they that spread nets upon the waters shall
languish.
[9] Moreover they that work in fine flax, and they that weave networks,
shall be confounded.
[10] And they shall be broken in the purposes thereof, all that make sluices
and ponds for fish.
[11] Surely the princes of Zoan are fools, the counsel of the wise
counsellers of Pharaoh is become brutish: how say ye unto Pharaoh, I am the
son of the wise, the son of ancient kings?
[12] Where are they? where are thy wise men? and let them tell thee now, and
let them know what the LORD of hosts hath purposed upon Egypt.
[13] The princes of Zoan are become fools, the princes of Noph are deceived;
they have also seduced Egypt, even they that are the stay of the tribes
thereof.
[14] The LORD hath mingled a perverse spirit in the midst thereof: and they
have caused Egypt to err in every work thereof, as a drunken man staggereth
in his vomit.
[15] Neither shall there be any work for Egypt, which the head or tail,
branch or rush, may do.
[16] In that day shall Egypt be like unto women: and it shall be afraid and
fear because of the shaking of the hand of the LORD of hosts, which he
shaketh over it.
[17] And the land of Judah shall be a terror unto Egypt, every one that
maketh mention thereof shall be afraid in himself, because of the counsel of
the LORD of hosts, which he hath determined against it.
[18] In that day shall five cities in the land of Egypt speak the language
of Canaan, and swear to the LORD of hosts; one shall be called, The city of

vow unto the LORD, and perform it.
[22] And the LORD shall smite Egypt: he shall smite and heal it: and they
shall return even to the LORD, and he shall be intreated of them, and shall
heal them.
[23] In that day shall there be a highway out of Egypt to Assyria, and the
Assyrian shall come into Egypt, and the Egyptian into Assyria, and the
Egyptians shall serve with the Assyrians.
[24] In that day shall Israel be the third with Egypt and with Assyria, even
a blessing in the midst of the land:
[25] Whom the LORD of hosts shall bless, saying, Blessed be Egypt my people,
and Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel mine inheritance.

Isaiah 20

A Prophecy Against Egypt and Ethiopia

1 (2Ki 18:17) In the year that the Tartan
[Possibly Commander-in-Chief.] came to Ashdod, when Sargon the king of Assyria
sent him, and he fought against Ashdod and took it,
2 (1Sa 19:24; Mic 1:8) at the same time the Lord spoke
by Isaiah the son of Amoz saying, "Go and loosen the sackcloth
from your waist and take off your shoes from your feet."
And he did so, walking naked and barefoot.
3 (Isa 8:18) The Lord said, "Even as My servant Isaiah has walked naked
and barefoot three years for a sign and wonder against Egypt and Ethiopia,
4 (Isa 19:4; Jer 13:22) so the king of Assyria shall lead away the Egyptians
as prisoners and the Ethiopians as captives, young and old,
naked and barefoot, even with their buttocks uncovered, to the shame of Egypt.
5 (Isa 30:3; 30:5) Then they shall be dismayed and ashamed of Ethiopia
their hope and Egypt their boast.
6 (Mt 23:33; 1Th 5:3) So the inhabitants of this coastland shall say
in that day, 'Certainly such is our hope, where we flee for help
to be delivered from the king of Assyria! And how shall we escape?' "

Isaiah 20
[1] In the year that Tartan came unto Ashdod, (when Sargon the king of
Assyria sent him,) and fought against Ashdod, and took it;
[2] At the same time spake the LORD by Isaiah the son of Amoz, saying, Go

Isaiah 21

A Prophecy Against Babylon

1 (Isa 13:1; Jer 51:42) The oracle of the desert of the sea.
As whirlwinds in the Negev pass through,
so it comes from the desert,
from a terrible land.
2 (Isa 33:1; Ps 60:3) A grievous vision is declared to me;
the treacherous one still deals treacherously,
and the destroyer still destroys.
Go up, O Elam. Lay siege, O Media.
All her sighing I have made to cease.
3 (Isa 13:8; Ps 48:6) Therefore, my loins are filled with pain;
pangs have taken hold of me as the pangs of a woman who travails.
I am so perplexed at the hearing of it;
I am so dismayed at the seeing of it.
4 My heart panted,
fearfulness overwhelmed me;
the night for which I longed
has turned into trembling for me.
5 (Jer 51:39; 51:57) Prepare the table,
watch in the watchtower,
eat and drink.
Arise, you princes,
and oil the shields.
6 (2Ki 9:17-20) For thus the Lord has said to me:
"Go, station a watchman;
let him declare what he sees.
7 (Isa 21:9) When he sees chariots
with horsemen in pairs,
a chariot of donkeys,
and a chariot of camels,
then let him pay close attention,
very close attention."
8 Then the watchman called:
"O Lord, I stand continually on the watchtower in the daytime,
and I am stationed at my guard post every night.
9 (Jer 51:8; Rev 14:8) Look, here comes a chariot of men,
horsemen in pairs."
And he answered and said,
"Fallen, fallen is Babylon.
And all the graven images of her gods
lie shattered on the ground."
10 (Jer 51:33; Mic 4:13) O my threshed people and my afflicted
of the threshing floor!
What I have heard from the Lord of Hosts,
the God of Israel,
I have declared to you.

a chariot of camels; and he hearkened diligently with much heed:
[8] And he cried, A lion: My lord, I stand continually upon the watchtower
in the daytime, and I am set in my ward whole nights:
[9] And, behold, here cometh a chariot of men, with a couple of horsemen.
And he answered and said, Babylon is fallen, is fallen; and all the graven
images of her gods he hath broken unto the ground.
[10] O my threshing, and the corn of my floor: that which I have heard of
the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, have I declared unto you.

A Prophecy Against Edom

11 (Ge 25:14; 1Ch 1:30) The oracle of Dumah.
He calls to me out of Seir,
"Watchman, how far gone is the night?
Watchman, how far gone is the night?"
12 The watchman says,
"The morning comes and also the night.
If you would inquire, inquire;
return again."

[11] The burden of Dumah. He calleth to me out of Seir, Watchman, what of
the night? Watchman, what of the night?
[12] The watchman said, The morning cometh, and also the night: if ye will
inquire, inquire ye: return, come.

A Prophecy Against Arabia

13 (Jer 25:23-24; Ge 25:3) The oracle about Arabia.
In the forest of Arabia you shall lodge,
O traveling companies of Dedanites.
14 (Ge 25:15; Job 6:19) Bring water for the thirsty,
O inhabitants of the land of Tema;
meet the fugitive with bread.
15 For they fled from the swords,
from the drawn sword,
and from the bent bow,
and from the grievousness of war.
16 (Ps 120:5; Isa 16:14) For thus the Lord has said to me:
Within a year, according to the years of a hireling,
all the glory of Kedar shall fail.
17 (Nu 23:19; Isa 1:20) And the remainder of the number of archers,
the mighty men of the children of Kedar, shall be diminished,
for the Lord God of Israel has spoken it.

[13] The burden upon Arabia. In the forest in Arabia shall ye lodge, O ye
travelling companies of Dedanim.
[14] The inhabitants of the land of Tema brought water to him that was
thirsty, they prevented with their bread him that fled.
[15] For they fled from the swords, from the drawn sword, and from the bent
bow, and from the grievousness of war.
[16] For thus hath the Lord said unto me, Within a year, according to the
years of an hireling, and all the glory of Kedar shall fail:
[17] And the residue of the number of archers, the mighty men of the
children of Kedar, shall be diminished: for the LORD God of Israel hath
spoken it.

Isaiah 22

An Oracle Concerning Jerusalem

1 (Jer 21:13; Ps 125:2) The oracle of the Valley of Vision.
What ails you now,
that you all have gone up to the housetops,
2 (Isa 32:13; 23:7) you who were full of noise,
a tumultuous city, a joyous city?
Your slain are not slain with the sword,
nor did they die in battle.
3 All your rulers have fled together;
they are captured by the archers.
All of you who were found were taken captive together,
although they had fled from afar.
4 (Jer 9:1; Mic 1:8) Therefore, I say, "Look away from me,
I will weep bitterly;
do not try to comfort me
because of the destruction of the daughter of my people."
5 (Isa 10:6; 37:3) For it is a day of trouble and of treading down
and of perplexity
by the Lord God of Hosts
in the Valley of Vision,
a breaking down of the walls
and a crying to the mountains.
6 (2Ki 16:9; Isa 21:2) Elam took up the quiver
with chariots of men and horsemen,
and Kir uncovered the shield.
7 Your choicest valleys shall be full of chariots,
and the horsemen shall set themselves in array at the gate.
8 (1Ki 7:2; 10:17) And He shall remove the protection of Judah.
You shall depend in that day
on the weapons of the house of the forest;
9 (2Ki 20:20) you have seen also that the breaches
of the City of David are many;
and you gathered together the waters
of the lower pool.
10 You have numbered the houses of Jerusalem,
and the houses you have broken down to fortify the wall.
11 (2Ki 25:4) You also made a reservoir between the two walls
for the water of the old pool.
But you have not looked to its Maker,
nor did you respect Him who fashioned it long ago.
12 (Joel 2:17; 1:13) In that day the Lord God of Hosts
called you to weeping and mourning,
and to tear your hair and wear sackcloth.
13 (Isa 56:12; 1Co 15:32; Lk 17:26-29) Yet, there is joy and gladness,
slaying of oxen and killing of sheep,
eating of meat and drinking wine:
"Let us eat and drink,
for tomorrow we may die."
14 (1Sa 3:14; Isa 5:9) It was revealed in my hearing by the Lord of Hosts:
Surely this iniquity shall not be forgiven you until you die,
says the Lord God of Hosts.
15 (2Ki 18:18; Isa 36:3) Thus says the Lord God of Hosts:
Come, go to this treasurer,
even to Shebna, who is over the royal household, and say:
16 (Mt 27:60; 2Ch 16:14) What right do you have here?
And whom do you have here
that you have dug out for yourself a tomb here,
as he who hews out for himself a tomb on high,
and who cuts a habitation for himself in a rock?
17 Indeed, the Lord is about to hurl you headlong, O man;
He is about to seize you firmly.
18 (Isa 17:13) He will surely violently turn
and toss you like a ball into a large country;
there you shall die,
and there the chariots of your glory shall be
the shame of your lord's house.
19 (Job 40:11-12; Eze 17:24) I will drive you from your office
and pull you down from your station.
20 (2Ki 18:18; Isa 36:3) In that day I will call My servant Eliakim
the son of Hilkiah.
21 (Ge 45:8) And I will clothe him with your robe and tie him securely
with your sash. And I will entrust him with your authority,
and he shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem
and to the house of Judah.
22 (Job 12:14; Rev 3:7) The key of the house of David I will lay
on his shoulder. Then he shall open, and no one shall shut.
And he shall shut, and no one shall open.
23 (1Sa 2:8; Ezr 9:8) I will fasten him as a nail in a firm place,
and he shall become a glorious throne to his father's house.
24 They shall hang on him all the glory of his father's house,
the offspring and the issue, all vessels of small quantity,
from the bowls to all the jars.
25 (Isa 46:11; Mic 4:4) In that day, says the Lord of Hosts,
the nail that is fastened in the firm place shall be removed,
and be cut down and fall. And the load that was on it shall be cut off,
for the Lord has spoken it.

Isaiah 22
[1] The burden of the valley of vision. What aileth thee now, that thou art
wholly gone up to the housetops?
[2] Thou that art full of stirs, a tumultuous city, a joyous city: thy slain
men are not slain with the sword, nor dead in battle.
[3] All thy rulers are fled together, they are bound by the archers: all
that are found in thee are bound together, which have fled from far.
[4] Therefore said I, Look away from me; I will weep bitterly, labour not to
comfort me, because of the spoiling of the daughter of my people.
[5] For it is a day of trouble, and of treading down, and of perplexity by
the Lord GOD of hosts in the valley of vision, breaking down the walls, and
of crying to the mountains.
[6] And Elam bare the quiver with chariots of men and horsemen, and Kir
uncovered the shield.
[7] And it shall come to pass, that thy choicest valleys shall be full of
chariots, and the horsemen shall set themselves in array at the gate.
[8] And he discovered the covering of Judah, and thou didst look in that day
to the armour of the house of the forest.
[9] Ye have seen also the breaches of the city of David, that they are many:
and ye gathered together the waters of the lower pool.
[10] And ye have numbered the houses of Jerusalem, and the houses have ye
broken down to fortify the wall.
[11] Ye made also a ditch between the two walls for the water of the old
pool: but ye have not looked unto the maker thereof, neither had respect
unto him that fashioned it long ago.
[12] And in that day did the Lord GOD of hosts call to weeping, and to
mourning, and to baldness, and to girding with sackcloth:
[13] And behold joy and gladness, slaying oxen, and killing sheep, eating
flesh, and drinking wine: let us eat and drink; for to morrow we shall die.
[14] And it was revealed in mine ears by the LORD of hosts, Surely this
iniquity shall not be purged from you till ye die, saith the Lord GOD of
hosts.
[15] Thus saith the Lord GOD of hosts, Go, get thee unto this treasurer,
even unto Shebna, which is over the house, and say,
[16] What hast thou here? and whom hast thou here, that thou hast hewed thee
out a sepulchre here, as he that heweth him out a sepulchre on high, and
that graveth an habitation for himself in a rock?
[17] Behold, the LORD will carry thee away with a mighty captivity, and will
surely cover thee.
[18] He will surely violently turn and toss thee like a ball into a large
country: there shalt thou die, and there the chariots of thy glory shall be
the shame of thy lord's house.
[19] And I will drive thee from thy station, and from thy state shall he
pull thee down.
[20] And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will call my servant
Eliakim the son of Hilkiah:
[21] And I will clothe him with thy robe, and strengthen him with thy
girdle, and I will commit thy government into his hand: and he shall be a
father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to the house of Judah.

shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open.
[23] And I will fasten him as a nail in a sure place; and he shall be for a

cups, even to all the vessels of flagons.

When his young ones cry unto God,
They wander for lack of meat. 

Dragonflies are dainty insects with some of the most amazing flight and 
endurance capabilities. Their aerial abilities have been studied to improve 
flight technology. Scientists recently found that with its wings beating 
thirty times a second, a dragonfly that has fallen upside-down can right 
itself in just 0.2 seconds. Its eyes process an incredible two hundred images 
per second to determine which way is up and make tiny adjustments. 

God's creativity and wisdom are on display all throughout our natural world. 
In the book of Job, the main character struggles to reconcile his suffering 
with God's goodness and righteousness. God responds by asking Job, "Do you 
know the laws of the heavens? Can you set up God's dominion over the earth?"
(38:33). God begins to describe many animals from birds and goats to the 
world's largest predators (38:36; 39:1; 40:15-24; 41). He knows what each 
animal needs for survival and is aware of the hungry cries of their young 
(38:39-41). God has given each of them distinct characteristics, such as 
the speed of an ostrich or the strength of an ox, so they can thrive (ch. 39).

How exactly does a dragonfly maneuver so incredibly? We have a lot to learn. 
And yet we can trust that the all-knowing God who designed these creatures is 
the same one who knows how to bring us from the darkest night into the light 
and joy of His presence.

Where do you see God's handiwork in the world around you? 
What does it reveal about His nature?

Isaiah 1:18

"Is Christianity Reasonable?" Linda Wanted to Know. "I've heard all my life
that faith is a crutch, an invention of weak minds to assure them
of some order in the world."
Linda was not alone in her objection; thinking people for generations
have been asking themselves the same question.
God is not intimidated by our questions; in fact, he confronts the issue
head-on in the Scriptures. "Let us reason together," the Lord invites.
Even according to the most basic of human reasoning,
faith is a reasonable alternative , a rational choice for a thinking person.
God indicates in his Word that confession and forgiveness are "reasonable".
"Think!" God says. "You sin, and you know it. You are not even able to be
true to your own principles. You cannot deal with your sin by will power
or effort. But I can deal with it! I can forgive it - and I will"
We cannot come to faith in God through Christ by intellect alone, of course.
Our spirits much reach out in faith, beyond what we can see. But intellect
supports faith; trusting in Christ is an eminently rational decision.
In Deut 30:1-20 , God set before the people a choice: Life or Death, blessing
or cursing. "Choose Life!" he tells them. We have the same choice.
The ultimate decision is thus simplified, the 'rational' alternative becomes
clear. We can choose death, by attempting to control our own destinies ,
or life, by giving ourselves fully into the hand of the Master.

Application

a) Why is the choice to acknowledge my sin and receive forgiveness a
'Rational choice'?

b) What are the alternatives to such a decision?

c) What other aspects of God's word
and work in my life seem 'reasonable' to me?

When the new moon is sighted it marks the beginning of t he new Islamic month
and Eid al-Fitr, the "Festival of Breaking the Fast", will start! After 30 days
of fasting, the Eid  celebration at the end of Ramadan is a joyful time that 
usually lasts about 3 days. Muslims will buy new clothes, exchange gifts and,
of course, enjoy special foods. In Muslim-majority nations, the streets may be
decorated and festivals will be held.

For many Muslims, Eid-al-Fitr begins with communal prayers at daybreak and the
distribution of money (zakat) to the poor, which is one of the 5 pillars of
Islam.

You can greet Muslim friends during this time by saying "Eid Mubarak",
which means Blessed Eid!"

Ramadan is over for this year, but you can continue to pray for Muslims you 
know, and Muslims around the world:

- Despite the unsettling developments in our world today that involve actions
in the name of Islam, there is at the same time a largely untold story about
unprecedented movement to Christ among Muslims. There have been more such
movements of thousands or more new disciples among Muslims in the last three
decades or so than in all the previous history of Christian Muslim
relationships! Pray for this momentum to continue.
Acts 2:12-17 :  17 "In the last days it shall be," says God,
"that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; 
your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, 
your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.
18 Even on My menservants and maidservants 
I will pour out My Spirit in those days; and they shall prophesy. 
19 And I will show wonders in heaven above and signs on the earth below: 
blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke.  20 The sun shall be turned into darkness,
and the moon into blood, before that great and glorious day of the Lord comes.
21 And whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved."[a]

and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior,
4 (Eze 18:23; 18:32)who desires all men to be saved
and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Pray to the Lord and and pray to understand his Judgments in Prophecy.

Pray to the Lord and pray to confess your sins for healing.
