Day 248, 4 September 2024 1) Ezekiel 38,39 Ezekiel 38 A Prophecy Against Gog 1 And the word of the Lord came to me, saying: 2 (Eze 39:1; Ge 10:2; Eze 27:13) Son of man, set your face against Gog of the land of Magog, the prince of Rosh, Meshek and Tubal, [mostly likely Russia, Moscow and Tbilisi] and prophesy against him, 3 (Eze 13:8) and say: Thus says the Lord God: I am against you, O Gog, the prince of Rosh, Meshek and Tubal. 4 (Eze 29:4; 38:15) And I will turn you back and put hooks into your jaws, and I will bring you out, and all your army, horses, and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armor, even a great company with buckler and shield, all of them handling swords. [Please note, the modern Russian army derived from the Soviet Era is still powerful] 5 (Eze 27:10; Ge 10:6; Eze 30:5) Persia, Ethiopia, and Put with them, all of them with shield and helmet. [Iran, Libya and Ethopia will be part this alliance] 6 (Ge 10:2-3; Eze 27:14) I will do so to Gomer and all its troops, Beth Togarmah of the north quarters and all its troops, and many peoples with you. [Eastern Europe or most likely the old Khazer kingdom] 7 (Isa 8:9-10) Be prepared and prepare yourself, you and all your companies that are assembled to you, and be a guard to them. 8 (Isa 24:22; Eze 38:16) After many days you shall be called. In the latter years you shall come into the land that is restored from the sword, whose inhabitants have been gathered out of many peoples, against the mountains of Israel which had been always a waste. But its people were brought out of the nations, and they, all of them, are dwelling safely. 9 (Isa 28:2; Jer 4:13) You shall ascend and come like a storm; you shall be like a cloud to cover the land, you and all your troops, and many peoples with you. 10 (Ps 36:4; Mic 2:1) Thus says the Lord God: It shall come to pass on that day that things shall come into your mind and you shall think an evil thought, 11 (Zec 2:4-5) and you shall say, "I will go up against the land of unwalled villages. I will go against those who are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls and having neither bars nor gates," 12 (Isa 10:6; Eze 29:19) to take spoil and to seize prey, to turn your hand against the desolate places that are now inhabited, and against the people who are gathered out of the nations, who have obtained livestock and goods, who dwell in the midst of the world. 13 (Eze 27:15; 27:12) Sheba and Dedan and the merchants of Tarshish with all its villages shall say to you, "Have you come to take spoil? Have you gathered your company to seize prey, to carry away silver and gold, to take away livestock and goods, to take great spoil?" 14 (Eze 38:8; 38:11) Therefore, son of man, prophesy and say to Gog: Thus says the Lord God: On that day when My people of Israel dwell safely, shall you not know it? 15 (Eze 39:2; 38:6) And you shall come from your place out of the north parts, you and many peoples with you, all of them riding on horses, a great company and a mighty army. 16 (Eze 38:23; 36:23) And you shall come up against My people of Israel as a cloud to cover the land. It shall come about in the latter days that I will bring you against My land so that the nations may know Me when I shall be sanctified in you, O Gog, before their eyes. [1] And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, [2] Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him, [3] And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal: [4] And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armour, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords: [5] Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya with them; all of them with shield and helmet: [6] Gomer, and all his bands; the house of Togarmah of the north quarters, and all his bands: and many people with thee. [7] Be thou prepared, and prepare for thyself, thou, and all thy company that are assembled unto thee, and be thou a guard unto them. [8] After many days thou shalt be visited: in the latter years thou shalt come into the land that is brought back from the sword, and is gathered out of many people, against the mountains of Israel, which have been always waste: but it is brought forth out of the nations, and they shall dwell safely all of them. [9] Thou shalt ascend and come like a storm, thou shalt be like a cloud to cover the land, thou, and all thy bands, and many people with thee. [10] Thus saith the Lord GOD; It shall also come to pass, that at the same time shall things come into thy mind, and thou shalt think an evil thought: [11] And thou shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates, [12] To take a spoil, and to take a prey; to turn thine hand upon the desolate places that are now inhabited, and upon the people that are gathered out of the nations, which have gotten cattle and goods, that dwell in the midst of the land. [13] Sheba, and Dedan, and the merchants of Tarshish, with all the young lions thereof, shall say unto thee, Art thou come to take a spoil? hast thou gathered thy company to take a prey? to carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to take a great spoil? [14] Therefore, son of man, prophesy and say unto Gog, Thus saith the Lord GOD; In that day when my people of Israel dwelleth safely, shalt thou not know it? [15] And thou shalt come from thy place out of the north parts, thou, and many people with thee, all of them riding upon horses, a great company, and a mighty army: [16] And thou shalt come up against my people of Israel, as a cloud to cover the land; it shall be in the latter days, and I will bring thee against my land, that the heathen may know me, when I shall be sanctified in thee, O Gog, before their eyes. Judgment on Gog 17 (Isa 34:1-6; 63:1-6) Thus says the Lord God: Are you he of whom I have spoken in former days by My servants the prophets of Israel, who prophesied in those days for many years that I would bring you against them? 18 And it shall come to pass at the same time when Gog comes against the land of Israel, says the Lord God, that My fury shall come up in My anger. 19 (Hag 2:6-7; Eze 5:13) For in My jealousy and in the fire of My wrath I have spoken: Surely in that day there shall be a great earthquake in the land of Israel. 20 ( Hos 4:3; Na 1:4-6) The fish of the sea and the fowl of the heavens and the beasts of the field and all creeping things that creep upon the earth and all the men who are upon the face of the earth shall shake at My presence, and the mountains shall be thrown down, and the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground. 21 (Jdg 7:22; 1Sa 14:20) I will call for a sword against him on all My mountains, says the Lord God. Every man's sword shall be against his brother. 22 (Ps 11:6; Isa 66:16) I will enter into judgment with him with pestilence and with blood. And I will rain upon him and upon his troops and upon the many peoples who are with him, an overflowing rain and hailstones, fire and brimstone. 23 (Eze 36:23; 37:28) Thus I will magnify Myself, and sanctify Myself, and I will be known in the eyes of many nations. Then they shall know that I am the Lord. [17] Thus saith the Lord GOD; Art thou he of whom I have spoken in old time by my servants the prophets of Israel, which prophesied in those days many years that I would bring thee against them? [18] And it shall come to pass at the same time when Gog shall come against the land of Israel, saith the Lord GOD, that my fury shall come up in my face. [19] For in my jealousy and in the fire of my wrath have I spoken, Surely in that day there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel; [20] So that the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the field, and all creeping things that creep upon the earth, and all the men that are upon the face of the earth, shall shake at my presence, and the mountains shall be thrown down, and the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground. [21] And I will call for a sword against him throughout all my mountains, saith the Lord GOD: every man's sword shall be against his brother. [22] And I will plead against him with pestilence and with blood; and I will rain upon him, and upon his bands, and upon the many people that are with him, an overflowing rain, and great hailstones, fire, and brimstone. [23] Thus will I magnify myself, and sanctify myself; and I will be known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I am the LORD. [A nuclear punishment against Russia] Ezekiel 39 The Destruction of Gog's Armies 1 (Eze 38:2-3) Moreover you, son of man, prophesy against Gog and say: Thus says the Lord God: I am against you, O Gog, prince of Rosh, Meshek, and Tubal. 2 (Eze 38:15) And I will turn you back, drive you on, and take you up the north parts and bring you against the mountains of Israel. 3 (Ps 76:3; Hos 1:5) And I will strike your bow out of your left hand and will cause your arrows to fall out of your right hand. 4 (Eze 33:27; 39:17-20) You shall fall upon the mountains of Israel, you and all your troops and the peoples who are with you. I will give you to the ravenous birds of every sort, and to the beasts of the field to be devoured. 5 You shall fall upon the open field. For I have spoken, says the Lord God. 6 (Eze 30:8; Jer 25:22) I will send a fire on Magog and among those who dwell safely in the coastlands. Then they shall know that I am the Lord. 7 (Eze 38:16; 38:23) So I will make My holy name known in the midst of My people Israel. And I will not let them pollute My holy name anymore. And the nations shall know that I am the Lord, the Holy One in Israel. 8 (Eze 38:17) It is coming and it shall be done, says the Lord God. This is the day of which I have spoken. 9 (Ps 46:9; Jos 11:6) Those who dwell in the cities of Israel shall go and make fires with the weapons and burn them, both the shields and the bucklers, the bows and the arrows, and the war clubs and the spears, and they shall burn them with fire for seven years. [ a long burn] [1] Therefore, thou son of man, prophesy against Gog, and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal: [2] And I will turn thee back, and leave but the sixth part of thee, and will cause thee to come up from the north parts, and will bring thee upon the mountains of Israel: [3] And I will smite thy bow out of thy left hand, and will cause thine arrows to fall out of thy right hand. [4] Thou shalt fall upon the mountains of Israel, thou, and all thy bands, and the people that is with thee: I will give thee unto the ravenous birds of every sort, and to the beasts of the field to be devoured. [5] Thou shalt fall upon the open field: for I have spoken it, saith the Lord GOD. [6] And I will send a fire on Magog, and among them that dwell carelessly in the isles: and they shall know that I am the LORD. [7] So will I make my holy name known in the midst of my people Israel; and I will not let them pollute my holy name any more: and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, the Holy One in Israel. [8] Behold, it is come, and it is done, saith the Lord GOD; this is the day whereof I have spoken. [9] And they that dwell in the cities of Israel shall go forth, and shall set on fire and burn the weapons, both the shields and the bucklers, the bows and the arrows, and the handstaves, and the spears, and they shall burn them with fire seven years: 10 (Isa 33:1; 14:2) They shall take no wood out of the field, or cut down any out of the forests, for they shall make fires with the weapons. And they shall despoil those who despoiled them, and plunder those who plundered them, says the Lord God. [10] So that they shall take no wood out of the field, neither cut down any out of the forests; for they shall burn the weapons with fire: and they shall spoil those that spoiled them, and rob those that robbed them, saith the Lord GOD. The Burial of Gog 11 It shall come to pass in that day that I will give to Gog a place of graves there in Israel, the valley of the passengers on the east of the sea, and it shall stop the passengers. And there they shall bury Gog and all his multitude, and they shall call it the Valley of Hamon Gog. 12 (Dt 21:23; Eze 39:14) For seven months the house of Israel shall be burying them so that they may cleanse the land. [If the elimination of the army is nuclear, it will a big mess to clean up] 13 (Eze 28:22; Jer 33:9) Indeed, all the people of the land shall bury them. And it shall be their renown on the day that I shall be glorified, says the Lord God. 14 They shall separate men who continually pass through the land to bury the passengers, even those who remain upon the face of the earth, to cleanse it. After the end of seven months they shall search. 15 As the passengers pass through the land and anyone sees a man's bone, then he shall set up a sign by it until the buriers have buried it in the Valley of Hamon Gog. 16 Also the name of the city shall be Hamonah. Thus they shall cleanse the land. 17 (Zep 1:7; Jer 12:9; Eze 39:4) As for you, son of man, thus says the Lord God: Speak to every kind of fowl and to every beast of the field: Assemble and come. Gather on every side to My sacrifice that I sacrifice for you, even a great sacrifice upon the mountains of Israel, that you may eat flesh and drink blood. 18 (Ps 22:12; Jer 51:40) You shall eat the flesh of the mighty and drink the blood of the officials of the earth as though of rams, of lambs, and of goats, of bulls, all of them fatlings of Bashan. 19 You shall eat fat until you are full and drink blood until you are drunk from My sacrifice which I have sacrificed for you. 20 (Rev 19:18; Ps 76:5-6) Thus you shall be filled at My table with horses and chariots, with mighty men, and with all the men of war, says the Lord God. 21 (Ex 9:16; Isa 37:20) I will set My glory among the nations, and all the nations shall see My judgment that I have executed, and My hand that I have laid upon them. 22 (Jer 24:7; Eze 39:28) So the house of Israel shall know that I am the Lord their God from that day and forward. 23 (Isa 1:15; 59:2) The nations shall know that the house of Israel went into captivity for their iniquity because they trespassed against Me, and I hid My face from them. And I gave them into the hand of their enemies, and all of them fell by the sword. 24 (Jer 2:17; 2:19) According to their uncleanness and according to their transgressions, I have done to them and hid My face from them. [11] And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will give unto Gog a place there of graves in Israel, the valley of the passengers on the east of the sea: and it shall stop the noses of the passengers: and there shall they bury Gog and all his multitude: and they shall call it The valley of Hamon-gog. [12] And seven months shall the house of Israel be burying of them, that they may cleanse the land. [13] Yea, all the people of the land shall bury them; and it shall be to them a renown the day that I shall be glorified, saith the Lord GOD. [14] And they shall sever out men of continual employment, passing through the land to bury with the passengers those that remain upon the face of the earth, to cleanse it: after the end of seven months shall they search. [15] And the passengers that pass through the land, when any seeth a man's bone, then shall he set up a sign by it, till the buriers have buried it in the valley of Hamon-gog. [16] And also the name of the city shall be Hamonah. Thus shall they cleanse the land. [17] And, thou son of man, thus saith the Lord GOD; Speak unto every feathered fowl, and to every beast of the field, Assemble yourselves, and come; gather yourselves on every side to my sacrifice that I do sacrifice for you, even a great sacrifice upon the mountains of Israel, that ye may eat flesh, and drink blood. [18] Ye shall eat the flesh of the mighty, and drink the blood of the princes of the earth, of rams, of lambs, and of goats, of bullocks, all of them fatlings of Bashan. [19] And ye shall eat fat till ye be full, and drink blood till ye be drunken, of my sacrifice which I have sacrificed for you. [20] Thus ye shall be filled at my table with horses and chariots, with mighty men, and with all men of war, saith the Lord GOD. [21] And I will set my glory among the heathen, and all the heathen shall see my judgment that I have executed, and my hand that I have laid upon them. [22] So the house of Israel shall know that I am the LORD their God from that day and forward. [23] And the heathen shall know that the house of Israel went into captivity for their iniquity: because they trespassed against me, therefore hid I my face from them, and gave them into the hand of their enemies: so fell they all by the sword. [24] According to their uncleanness and according to their transgressions have I done unto them, and hid my face from them. The Restoration of Israel 25 (Isa 27:12-13; Eze 34:13) Therefore thus says the Lord God: Now I will restore the fortunes of Jacob and have mercy on the whole house of Israel and will be jealous for My holy name. 26 (1Ki 4:25; Mic 4:4) They shall forget their shame and all their trespasses by which they have trespassed against Me when they lived safely in their land and no one made them afraid. 27 (Eze 36:23-24; 38:16) When I have brought them back from the peoples and gathered them out of the lands of their enemies, then I shall be sanctified in them in the sight of many nations. 28 (Eze 39:22) Then they shall know that I am the Lord their God who caused them to be led into captivity among the nations, and then gathered them again to their own land and have left none of them there anymore. 29 (Joel 2:28; Isa 32:15) Nor will I hide My face from them anymore. For I will have poured out My Spirit on the house of Israel, says the Lord God. [25] Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Now will I bring again the captivity of Jacob, and have mercy upon the whole house of Israel, and will be jealous for my holy name; [26] After that they have borne their shame, and all their trespasses whereby they have trespassed against me, when they dwelt safely in their land, and none made them afraid. [27] When I have brought them again from the people, and gathered them out of their enemies' lands, and am sanctified in them in the sight of many nations; [28] Then shall they know that I am the LORD their God, which cause them to be led into captivity among the heathen: but I have gathered them unto their own land, and have left none of them any more there. [29] Neither will I hide my face any more from them: for I have poured out my spirit upon the house of Israel, saith the Lord GOD. 2) Our Daily Bread for 4 September 2024 Titles Excelsior! Philippians 3:12-21 Pressing Toward the Mark 12 (1Co 13:10; 1Ti 6:19) Not that I have already attained or have already been perfected, but I follow after it so that I may lay hold of that for which I was seized by Christ Jesus. 13 (Lk 9:62; Ps 45:10) Brothers, I do not count myself to have attained, but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, 14 (Heb 3:1; 1Pe 5:10) I press toward the goal to the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. 15 (1Co 2:6; Gal 5:10) Therefore let those of us who are mature be thus minded. And if you think differently in any way, God will reveal even this to you. 16 (Gal 6:16) Nevertheless, according to what we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us be of the same mind. 17 (1Co 4:16; 1Pe 5:3) Brothers, become fellow imitators with me and observe those who walk according to our example. 18 (Gal 6:12) For many are walking in such a way that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ. I have told you of them often and tell you again, even weeping. 19 (Ro 16:18; 2Pe 2:3) Their destination is destruction, their god is their appetite, their glory is in their shame, their minds are set on earthly things. 20 (Eph 2:19; 1Co 1:7; Ac 1:11) But our citizenship is in heaven, from where also we await for our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21 (Col 3:4) who will transform our body of humiliation, so that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working of His power even to subdue all things to Himself. [12] Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. [13] Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, [14] I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. [15] Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you. [16] Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing. [17] Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample. [18] (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: [19] Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.) [20] For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: [21] Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself. Sometimes surprisingly spiritual messages turn up in unexpected places, like in a comic book, for example. Marvel Comics publisher Stan Lee passed away in 2018, leaving behind a legacy of such iconic heroes as Spider-Man, Iron Man, the Fantastic Four, the Hulk, and many others. The famously smiling man with sunglasses had a personal catchphrase that he used to sign off in monthly columns in Marvel comics for decades-the word excelsior. In a 2010 tweet, Lee explained its meaning: "'Upward and onward to greater glory!' That's what I wish you whenever I finish tweeting! Excelsior!" I like that. Whether Stan Lee realized it or not, his use of this unusual catchphrase certainly resonates with what Paul wrote in Philippians as he admonished believers to look not behind but ahead-and up: "Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus." (3:13-14 ). We can easily become entangled in regrets or second-guessing past decisions. But in Christ, we're invited to relinquish regrets and to press upward and onward to God's greater glory through embracing the forgiveness and purpose He so graciously gives us! Excelsior! Romans 8:15 'For you have not received the spirit of slavery again to fear. But you have received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry, "Abba, Father." ' 15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. "I've always been a Daddy's girl," Sandi said proudly, and her relationship with her father proved it. She was never spoiled, but even as a grown woman, Sandi maintained a closeness with her father, sharing intimately with him the important issues of her life. And just her use of the name "Daddy" indicated that he was, indeed a warm, approachable, affectionate man. Many people are not so fortunate. Some fathers are stern and harsh; others absent or uncaring, some even abusive. Few have the king of father who presents a picture of the loving fatherhood of God. But whatever our concept of fatherhood, God makes clear that he is everything we always wanted our fathers to be - loving, forgiving, approachable, totally accepting of us as we are, encouraging us to become all he has created us to be. In Romans 8, Paul calls God our "Abba Father". The Aramaic word for Father, Abba, is an intimate term that might well be translated, Daddy. God is our "Daddy," our "Abba" - not a distant, stern patriarch ready to strike us down at the first sign of transgression, but a gentle, loving Father who longs for us to climb into his lap and let him comfort us. When we commit ourselves to Christ, Paul indicates, we do not receive a "spirit of bondage to fear" but a "spirit of adoption." We are not called to respond to God out of fear, but out of love and reverence. We can relax and enjoy his presence, for we are his children, and he is our loving Daddy. Application a) What concept of fatherhood do I have from my own experience with my father? How does that correspond to Paul's description of God as "Daddy"? b) How can this verse help change my perception of what it means to have God as my Father? 4) From Prosperity Promises - Kenneth Copeland Mark 4:23-29 23 (Mk 4:9; Mt 11:15) "If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear." 24 (Mt 7:2) He said to them, "Take heed what you hear. The measure you give will be measured for you, and to you who hear will more be given. 25 (Mt 13:12; Lk 8:18) For to him who has will more be given. And from him who has not will be taken, even what he has." The Parable of the Growing Seed 26 (Mt 13:24) He said, "The kingdom of God is like a man who scatters seed on the ground. 27 (Ecc 11:5) He sleeps and rises night and day, and the seed sprouts and grows; he does not know how. 28 For the earth bears fruit by itself: first the blade, then the head, then the full seed in the head. 29 (Joel 3:13) But when the grain is ripe, immediately he applies the sickle because the harvest has come." 23 "If any man have ears to hear, let him hear. " 24 And he said unto them, "Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given. 25 For he that hath, to him shall be given: and he that hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he hath. 26 And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground; 27 and should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how. 28 For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear. 29 But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle, because the harvest is come." 5) From a Book called God's Promises for you: God's Gift of Salvation Ps 51:1-13 PSALMS 51 For the Music Director. A Psalm of David, when Nathan the Prophet came to him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba. 1 Have mercy on me, O God, according to Your lovingkindness; according to the abundance of Your compassion, blot out my transgressions. 2 (Ps 63:1; 84:2 ) Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. 3 (Ps 79:10; 80:5) For I acknowledge my transgressions, and my sin is ever before me. 4 (Isa 30:29; Ps 62:8) Against You, You only, have I sinned, and done this evil in Your sight, so that You are justified when You speak, and You are blameless when You judge. 5 (Ps 42:11; 43:5) I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin my mother conceived me. 6 (2Sa 17:22; Dt 3:8-9) You desire truth in the inward parts, and in the hidden part You make me to know wisdom. 7 (Ps 88:7; Jnh 2:3 ) Purify me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. 8 (Job 35:10; Ps 63:6) Make me to hear joy and gladness, that the bones that You have broken may rejoice. 9 (Ps 38:6; 18:2) Hide Your face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities. 10 (Ps 42:3; Joel 2:17) Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. 11 (Ps 42:5; 43:5) Do not cast me away from Your presence, and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. 12 Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, and uphold me with Your willing spirit. 13 Then I will teach transgressors Your ways, and sinners will return to You. To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David, when Nathan the prophet came unto him, after he had gone in to Bath-sheba. 1 Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: According unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. 2 Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, And cleanse me from my sin. 3 For I acknowledge my transgressions: And my sin is ever before me. 4 Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: That thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest. 5 Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; And in sin did my mother conceive me. 6 Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: And in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom. 7 Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. 8 Make me to hear joy and gladness; That the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice. 9 Hide thy face from my sins, And blot out all mine iniquities. 10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; And renew a right spirit within me. 11 Cast me not away from thy presence; And take not thy holy spirit from me. 12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; And uphold me with thy free spirit. 13 Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; And sinners shall be converted unto thee. Nova Scotia Total population 942700 Muslim population (est.) 14629 With 6 of the Nova Scotia's 10 universities located in Halifax, there is a high concentration of Muslin international students in the area, a harvest field in itself. Pray for Nova Scotia and her Muslim populations - in and around Halifax and other cities - on university campuses - for new workers among Muslims - for pastors and churches to be bold in vision, passion and outreach to Muslims in their areas. - for Muslims who are searching for a better way to find a Christian friend to share Jesus with and disciple them - for Muslim-background believers to be both wise and bold in sharing their new faith in Jesus with other Muslims Halifax is the centre of Muslim activity for the Province of Nova Scotia with at least 10 Islamic centres (mosques) and musallas (prayer locations, especially for Friday prayer). And there are other mosques in Chebucto, Kearney Lake, Dartmouth, Bedford and Truro. Though the original community of Muslims was primarily composed of newcomers from Turkey, Pakistan, Bangladesh and India, continued immigration has further diversified this community. Anf it is said thay Arabic is the second most spoken language in Halifax. while conservative estimates place the number of Muslims at almost 15000 in 2014, the Imama of a primary Halifax mosque estimates their population somewhere between 25000 to 30000. Adding further 30 days of prayer for the Muslim World 24 April to 23 May 2020 Under the Keep Praying page When the new moon is sighted it marks the beginning of t he new Islamic month and Eid al-Fitr, the "Festival of Breaking the Fast", will start! After 30 days of fasting, the Eid celebration at the end of Ramadan is a joyful time that usually lasts about 3 days. Muslims will buy new clothes, exchange gifts and, of course, enjoy special foods. In Muslim-majority nations, the streets may be decorated and festivals will be held. For many Muslims, Eid-al-Fitr begins with communal prayers at daybreak and the distribution of money (zakat) to the poor, which is one of the 5 pillars of Islam. You can greet Muslim friends during this time by saying "Eid Mubarak", which means Blessed Eid!" Ramadan is over for this year, but you can continue to pray for Muslims you know, and Muslims around the world: - Despite the unsettling developments in our world today that involve actions in the name of Islam, there is at the same time a largely untold story about unprecedented movement to Christ among Muslims. There have been more such movements of thousands or more new disciples among Muslims in the last three decades or so than in all the previous history of Christian Muslim relationships! Pray for this momentum to continue. Acts 2:12-17 : 17 12 They were all amazed and perplexed, saying to each other, "What does this mean?" 13 (1Co 14:23) Others mocking said, "These men are full of new wine." Peter's Speech at Pentecost 14 (Ac 1:26) But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice and said to them, "Men of Judea and all you who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and listen to my words. 15 For these are not drunk, as you suppose, since it is the third hour of the day. 16 But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel: 17 (Isa 44:3; Ac 10:45) 'In the last days it shall be,' says God, 'that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.' - Pray for Christian workers an organisations focused on seeing effective discipleship movements among Muslim people. - Ask the Holy Spirit to continue to inspire you to have god's heart for Muslims, to see them as He does, and to be the light that then to Jesus. Matthew 5:14-15 : 14 "You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do men light a candle and put it under a basket, but on a candlestick. And it gives light to all who are in the house." Ideas for prayer - Pray for opportunities to show the love of Christ to Muslims around you - Pray for, and offer generous hospitality to, those you know who are serving Christ among Muslim people - Romans 12:13 "contribute to the needs of the saints, practice hospitality." - When you gather with fellow believers, remember to pray for Muslims throughout the year and encourage them to also participate in 30 Days! My paternal side is of Muslim heritage and will offer this section to further call for Muslim converts to Christian and any other converts to Christianity (Hindus, Jews, aboriginals Canadian, atheists, secular humanists, ...) 7) Prayers for the nation (Canada) coming from Prayer map of Canada http://www.ehc.ca 4nd Day of the Month a) Pray for the preservation of godly values in Canada (Prov 14:34 - Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people. 34 Righteousness exalteth a nation: But sin is a reproach to any people. ) b) Pray the political leaders will be awakened by God to the right use of power and the right stewardship of their positions.
