Ezekiel 42

The Chambers for the Priests

1 (Eze 40:17; 40:20) Then he brought me out into the outer court,
toward the north; and he brought me into the chamber
that was opposite the separate yard and which was opposite
the building on the north.
2 Before the length of a hundred cubits was the north door,
and the width was fifty cubits. [About 175 feet long and 88 feet wide,
or 53 meters long and 27 meters wide.]
3 (Eze 41:15-16; 41:10) Opposite the twenty cubits
[About 35 feet, or 11 meters.] that belonged to the inner court,
and opposite the pavement that belonged to the outer court,
was gallery against gallery in three stories.
4 (Eze 46:19) In front of the chambers was a passage on the inner side,
ten cubits wide and one hundred cubits
[About 18 feet wide and 175 feet long, or 5.3 meters wide and 53 meters long.]
deep; and their doors faced north.
5 Now the upper chambers were shorter. For the galleries were higher
than these, than the lower and the middle ones of the building.
6 (Eze 41:6) For they were in three stories, but had no pillars as the pillars
of the courts. Therefore the building was set back more than the lowest
and the middle ones from the ground.
7 And a wall that was outside was parallel to the chambers, toward the outer
court, opposite the chambers; its length was fifty cubits.
8 For the length of the chambers that were
in the outer court was fifty cubits.
And the length of those before the temple was a hundred cubits.
9 (Eze 46:19; 44:5) From under these chambers was the entrance
on the east side as one goes into them from the outer court.
10 (Eze 42:1; 42:13) The chambers were in the thickness of the wall
of the court toward the east, opposite the separate yard
and opposite the building,
11 with a passage in front of them; they were like the appearance
of the chambers which were toward the north, of the same length and width.
And all their exits and arrangements were according to plan.
12 Corresponding to the doors of the chambers that were facing south
was a door at the head of the passage way, the passage way directly
in front of the wall toward the east.
13 (Lev 7:6; 10:17; Eze 40:46) Then he said to me, "The north chambers
and the south chambers, which are before the separate place,
are the holy chambers where the priests who approach the Lord shall eat
the most holy offerings. There they shall lay the most holy offerings
-the grain offering, the sin offering, and the guilt offering-
for the place is holy.
14 (Eze 44:19; Lev 8:7) When the priests enter it, then they shall not go
out of the holy place into the outer court, but there they shall lay
their garments in which they minister, for they are holy.
And they shall put on other garments, and shall approach those things
which are for the people."
15 (Eze 43:1) Now when he had made an end of measuring the inner temple,
he brought me out by the gate that faces east, and measured it all around.
16 (Eze 40:3) He measured the east side with the measuring reed, 500 cubits
[500 cubits equal about 875 feet, or 265 meters; and in vv. 17, 18, and 19.]
with the measuring reed all around.
17 He measured the north side with the measuring reed round about, 500 reeds.
18 He measured the south side with the measuring reed, five hundred reeds.
19 He turned about to the west side
and measured 500 reeds with the measuring reed.
20 (Eze 45:2; 22:26; 40:5) He measured it by the four sides. It had a wall
all around, five hundred reeds long and five hundred wide,
[Five hundred cubits equal about 875 feet, or 265 meters.]
to make a separation between the sanctuary and the profane place.

Ezekiel 42
[1] Then he brought me forth into the utter court, the way toward the north:
and he brought me into the chamber that was over against the separate place,
and which was before the building toward the north.
[2] Before the length of an hundred cubits was the north door, and the
breadth was fifty cubits.
[3] Over against the twenty cubits which were for the inner court, and over
against the pavement which was for the utter court, was gallery against
gallery in three stories.
[4] And before the chambers was a walk of ten cubits breadth inward, a way
of one cubit; and their doors toward the north.
[5] Now the upper chambers were shorter: for the galleries were higher than
these, than the lower, and than the middlemost of the building.
[6] For they were in three stories, but had not pillars as the pillars of
the courts: therefore the building was straitened more than the lowest and
the middlemost from the ground.
[7] And the wall that was without over against the chambers, toward the
utter court on the forepart of the chambers, the length thereof was fifty
cubits.
[8] For the length of the chambers that were in the utter court was fifty
cubits: and, lo, before the temple were an hundred cubits.
[9] And from under these chambers was the entry on the east side, as one
goeth into them from the utter court.
[10] The chambers were in the thickness of the wall of the court toward the
east, over against the separate place, and over against the building.
[11] And the way before them was like the appearance of the chambers which
were toward the north, as long as they, and as broad as they: and all their
goings out were both according to their fashions, and according to their
doors.
[12] And according to the doors of the chambers that were toward the south
was a door in the head of the way, even the way directly before the wall
toward the east, as one entereth into them.
[13] Then said he unto me, The north chambers and the south chambers, which
are before the separate place, they be holy chambers, where the priests that
approach unto the LORD shall eat the most holy things: there shall they lay
the most holy things, and the meat offering, and the sin offering, and the
trespass offering; for the place is holy.
[14] When the priests enter therein, then shall they not go out of the holy
place into the utter court, but there they shall lay their garments wherein
they minister; for they are holy; and shall put on other garments, and shall
approach to those things which are for the people.
[15] Now when he had made an end of measuring the inner house, he brought me
forth toward the gate whose prospect is toward the east, and measured it
round about.
[16] He measured the east side with the measuring reed, five hundred reeds,
with the measuring reed round about.
[17] He measured the north side, five hundred reeds, with the measuring reed
round about.
[18] He measured the south side, five hundred reeds, with the measuring reed.
[19] He turned about to the west side, and measured five hundred reeds with
the measuring reed.
[20] He measured it by the four sides: it had a wall round about, five
hundred reeds long, and five hundred broad, to make a separation between the
sanctuary and the profane place.

Ezekiel 43

God's Glory Returns to the Temple

1 (Eze 42:15; 44:1) Afterward he brought me to the gate, the gate facing east.
2 (Eze 11:23; Rev 1:15) And the glory of the God of Israel came from the way
of the east. And His voice was like a noise of many waters. And the earth
shone with His glory.
3 (Eze 9:1; 9:5) It was according to the appearance of the vision which I saw,
even according to the vision that I saw, when He came to destroy the city.
And the visions were like the vision that I saw by the River Kebar.
And I fell upon my face.
4 (Eze 44:2) The glory of the Lord came into the temple
by the way of the gate facing east.
5 (Eze 8:3; 11:24) So the Spirit took me up and brought me
into the inner court. And the glory of the Lord filled the temple.
6 (Eze 40:3) Then I heard one speaking to me out of the temple. And a man
stood by me.
7 (Lev 26:30; Eze 43:9) He said to me: Son of man, this is the place
of My throne and the place of the soles of My feet, where I will dwell
in the midst of the sons of Israel forever. And My holy name shall
the house of Israel defile no more, nor they nor their kings
by their harlotry, nor by the corpses of their kings when they die.
8 By setting their threshold by My threshold and their post by My posts
and the wall between Me and them, they have even defiled My holy name
by their abominations that they have committed.
Therefore I have consumed them in My anger.
9 (Eze 43:7; 37:26-28; 18:30-31) Now let them put away their harlotry
and the corpses of their kings far from Me, and I will dwell
in their midst forever.
10 (Eze 16:61; 40:4) As for you, son of man, describe the temple
to the house of Israel, that they may be ashamed of their iniquities.
And let them measure the pattern.
11 (Eze 11:20; 36:27) If they are ashamed of all that they have done,
show them the design of the temple and its fashion and exits
and its entrances and all its forms and all its ordinances
and all its laws. And write it in their sight so that they may keep
its whole form and all its ordinances and do them.
12 (Eze 40:2; 42:20) This is the law of the temple: The whole territory
on the top of the mountain all around shall be most holy.
This is the law of the temple.

[9] Now let them put away their whoredom, and the carcases of their kings,
far from me, and I will dwell in the midst of them for ever.
[10] Thou son of man, shew the house to the house of Israel, that they may
be ashamed of their iniquities: and let them measure the pattern.
[11] And if they be ashamed of all that they have done, shew them the form
of the house, and the fashion thereof, and the goings out thereof, and the
comings in thereof, and all the forms thereof, and all the ordinances
thereof, and all the forms thereof, and all the laws thereof: and write it
in their sight, that they may keep the whole form thereof, and all the
ordinances thereof, and do them.
[12] This is the law of the house; Upon the top of the mountain the whole
limit thereof round about shall be most holy. Behold, this is the law of
the house.

The Altar Restored

13 (Ex 27:1-8; 2Ch 4:1) These are the measurements of the altar by cubits
[About 21 inches, or 53 centimeters; and in vv. 14 and 17.]
(the cubit is a cubit and a handbreadth): The base shall be a cubit,
and the width a cubit, and its border by its edge all around shall be a span.
[About 11 inches, or 27 centimeters.]
And this shall be the height of the altar:
14 From the bottom on the ground even to the lower ledge shall be two cubits,
and the width one cubit. [About 3 1/2 feet high and 13/4 feet wide,
or 105 centimeters high and 53 centimeters wide.]
And from the lesser ledge even to the greater ledge shall be four cubits,
and the width one cubit.[Likely about 6 pounds, or 2.7 kilograms.]
15 (Ex 27:2; Lev 9:9) So the altar shall be four cubits. And from the altar
and upward shall be four horns.
16 (Ex 27:1) The altar hearth shall be twelve cubits long by twelve wide,
[About 21 feet, or 6.4 meters.] square in its four corners.
17 (Ex 20:26; Eze 40:6) The ledge shall be fourteen cubits
[About 25 feet, or 7.4 meters.] long and fourteen wide in the four squares.
And the border about it shall be half a cubit.
[About 11 inches, or 27 centimeters.] And its bottom shall be a cubit
all around. And its stairs shall face east.
18 (Ex 40:29) He said to me: Son of man, thus says the Lord God:
These are the ordinances of the altar in the day when they shall make it
to offer burnt offerings on it and to sprinkle blood on it.
19 (Eze 40:46; 44:15) You shall give to the priests the Levites that are
of the seed of Zadok who approach Me to minister to Me, says the Lord God,
a young bull as a sin offering.
20 (Lev 8:15; 16:19) You shall take of its blood and put it on its four horns,
and on the four corners of the ledge and on the rim all around.
Thus you shall cleanse and purge it.
21 (Ex 29:14; Lev 4:12) You shall take the bull also of the sin offering,
and it shall be burned in the appointed place of the temple,
outside the sanctuary.
22 (Eze 43:20; 43:25-26) On the second day you shall offer a male goat
without blemish as a sin offering. And they shall cleanse the altar
as they cleansed it with the bull.
23 (Ex 29:1) When you have made an end of cleansing it, you shall offer
a young bull without blemish and a ram out of the flock without blemish.
24 (Lev 2:13; Mk 9:49-50) You shall offer them before the Lord,
and the priests shall cast salt on them,
and they shall offer them up as a burnt offering to the Lord.
25 (Lev 8:33; Ex 29:35-37) For seven days you shall prepare every day
a goat as a sin offering. They shall also prepare a young bull
and a ram out of the flock, without blemish.
26 For seven days they shall purge the altar and purify it.
So they shall consecrate it.
27 (Lev 9:1) When they have completed the days, it shall be that
on the eighth day and forward, the priests shall present
your burnt offerings and your peace offerings upon the altar.
And I will accept you, says the Lord God.

[13] And these are the measures of the altar after the cubits: The cubit is
a cubit and an hand breadth; even the bottom shall be a cubit, and the
breadth a cubit, and the border thereof by the edge thereof round about
shall be a span: and this shall be the higher place of the altar.
[14] And from the bottom upon the ground even to the lower settle shall be
two cubits, and the breadth one cubit; and from the lesser settle even to
the greater settle shall be four cubits, and the breadth one cubit.
[15] So the altar shall be four cubits; and from the altar and upward shall
be four horns.
[16] And the altar shall be twelve cubits long, twelve broad, square in the
four squares thereof.
[17] And the settle shall be fourteen cubits long and fourteen broad in the
four squares thereof; and the border about it shall be half a cubit; and the
bottom thereof shall be a cubit about; and his stairs shall look toward the
east.
[18] And he said unto me, Son of man, thus saith the Lord GOD; These are the
ordinances of the altar in the day when they shall make it, to offer burnt
offerings thereon, and to sprinkle blood thereon.
[19] And thou shalt give to the priests the Levites that be of the seed of

young bullock for a sin offering.
[20] And thou shalt take of the blood thereof, and put it on the four horns

[23] When thou hast made an end of cleansing it, thou shalt offer a young
bullock without blemish, and a ram out of the flock without blemish.
[24] And thou shalt offer them before the LORD, and the priests shall cast
salt upon them, and they shall offer them up for a burnt offering unto the
LORD.
[25] Seven days shalt thou prepare every day a goat for a sin offering: they
shall also prepare a young bullock, and a ram out of the flock, without
blemish.
[26] Seven days shall they purge the altar and purify it; and they shall
consecrate themselves.
[27] And when these days are expired, it shall be, that upon the eighth day,
and so forward, the priests shall make your burnt offerings upon the altar,
and your peace offerings; and I will accept you, saith the Lord GOD.

Ephesians 4:22-29

The Old Life and New Life

22 (Ro 6:6; Heb 3:13) that you put off the former way of life in the old
nature, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts,
23 (Ro 12:2; Col 3:10) and be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
24 (Ro 6:4; Eph 2:10) and that you put on the new nature,
which was created according to God in righteousness and true holiness.

[22] That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which
is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
[23] And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
[24] And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in
righteousness and true holiness.

Rules for the New Life

25 (Col 3:9; Zec 8:16; Ro 12:5) Therefore, putting away lying, let every man
speak truthfully with his neighbor, for we are members of one another.
26 (Ps 37:8; 4:4) Be angry but do not sin.
Do not let the sun go down on your anger.
27 (Jas 4:7) Do not give place to the devil.
28 (Ex 20:15; 1Th 4:11-12) Let him who steals steal no more. Instead,
let him labour, working with his hands things which are good,
that he may have something to share with him who is in need.
29 (Col 4:6) Let no unwholesome word proceed out of your mouth,
but only that which is good for building up, that it may give grace
to the listeners.

[25] Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour:
for we are members one of another.
[26] Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:
[27] Neither give place to the devil.
[28] Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working
with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that
needeth.
[29] Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which
is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. 
 
A man was adept at beating his personal traffic tickets by lying. When he 
appeared before various judges in court, he would tell the same tale: "I broke
up with my girlfriend and she took my car without my knowledge." In addition, 
he had been repeatedly reprimanded for misconduct while on the job. 
Prosecutors finally charged him with four counts of perjury and five counts of
forgery for allegedly lying to judges under oath and providing fictitious 
police reports. For this man, lying had become a lifelong habit.

In contrast, the apostle Paul said that telling the truth is a vital habit for
believers in Jesus to live out. He reminded the Ephesians that they'd put away
their old way of living through surrendering their lives to Christ (Ephesians 
2:1-5). Now, they needed to live like the new people they'd become, 
incorporating specific actions into their lives. One such action was something
to cease-"put off falsehood"-and the other action something to practice-"speak
truthfully to your neighbour" (4:25). Because it protected the unity of the 
church, the Ephesians were to always have their words and actions be about 
"building others up" (v. 29).

As the Holy Spirit helps us (vv. 3-4), believers in Jesus can strive for truth
in their words and actions. Then the church will be unified, and God will be 
honoured.

Week 3 - Saved Now and forever Day 6 - Eternal Life, Beginning now

John 10:28 - I give them eternal life. They shall never perish,
nor shall anyone snatch them from My hand.

28 and I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish,
neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

In C.S. Lewis's The Great Divorce, one of the Spirits in heaven, identifying
himself as George MacDonald, makes some startling statements on the nature of
eternal life. Depending upon the individual's choice for or against Christ,
MacDonald says, everything in life takes on the character of haven or hell.
"At the end of ALL THINGS, when the sun rises here (in heaven) and the twilight
turns to blackness down there, the Blessed will say, 'We have never lived
anywhere except in Heaven,' and the Lost, 'We were always in Hell.'
And both will speak truly" - From the Great Divorce by C.S. Lewis.
Lewis was not trying to make a theological case, but to demonstrate
a principle: eternal life begins now.
The choices that we make for or against obedience to God, the life we live,
the patterns we establish, all move us in one direction of the other.
And when we have decided to choose obedience to God (the forsakeness of sin),
when we give ourselves fully into his hands, he is able to take the worst of
circumstances and redeem them for our good, use them to mature us in his image.
Again Jesus says in John 10:28
"I give them eternal life. They shall never perish,
nor shall anyone snatch them from My hand. "
In Christ is a very secure place to be. No experience is lost, no pain is
wasted. Everything in our lives is redeemed by God for our benefit.

a high concentration of Muslin international students in the area,
a harvest field in itself.
Pray for Nova Scotia and her Muslim populations

- in and around Halifax and other cities

- on university campuses

- for new workers among Muslims

- for pastors and churches to be bold in vision, passion and outreach
to Muslims in their areas.

- for Muslims who are searching for a better way to find a Christian friend
to share Jesus with and disciple them

- for Muslim-background believers to be both wise and bold in sharing their
new faith in Jesus with other Muslims

Halifax is the centre of Muslim activity for the Province of Nova Scotia
with at least 10 Islamic centres (mosques) and musallas
(prayer locations, especially for Friday prayer). And there are other mosques
in Chebucto, Kearney Lake, Dartmouth, Bedford and Truro.

Though the original community of Muslims was primarily composed of
newcomers from Turkey, Pakistan, Bangladesh and India, continued immigration
has further diversified this community. Anf it is said thay Arabic
is the second most spoken language in Halifax.

while conservative estimates place the number of Muslims at almost 15000
in 2014, the Imama of a primary Halifax mosque estimates their population
somewhere between 25000 to 30000.

When the new moon is sighted it marks the beginning of t he new Islamic month
and Eid al-Fitr, the "Festival of Breaking the Fast", will start! After 30 days
of fasting, the Eid celebration at the end of Ramadan is a joyful time that
usually lasts about 3 days. Muslims will buy new clothes, exchange gifts and,
of course, enjoy special foods. In Muslim-majority nations, the streets may be
decorated and festivals will be held.
For many Muslims, Eid-al-Fitr begins with communal prayers at daybreak and the
distribution of money (zakat) to the poor, which is one of the 5 pillars of
Islam.
You can greet Muslim friends during this time by saying "Eid Mubarak",
which means Blessed Eid!"
Ramadan is over for this year, but you can continue to pray for Muslims you
know, and Muslims around the world:
- Despite the unsettling developments in our world today that involve actions
in the name of Islam, there is at the same time a largely untold story about
unprecedented movement to Christ among Muslims. There have been more such
movements of thousands or more new disciples among Muslims in the last three
decades or so than in all the previous history of Christian Muslim
relationships! Pray for this momentum to continue.

Acts 2:12-17 : 17 12 They were all amazed and perplexed, saying to each other,
"What does this mean?"
13 (1Co 14:23) Others mocking said, "These men are full of new wine."

Peter's Speech at Pentecost

14 (Ac 1:26) But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice
and said to them, "Men of Judea and all you who dwell in Jerusalem,
let this be known to you, and listen to my words.
15 For these are not drunk, as you suppose,
since it is the third hour of the day.
16 But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:
17 (Isa 44:3; Ac 10:45) 'In the last days it shall be,' says God,
'that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;
your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
your young men shall see visions,
and your old men shall dream dreams.'

- Pray for Christian workers an organisations focused on seeing effective
discipleship movements among Muslim people.

- Ask the Holy Spirit to continue to inspire you to have god's heart for
Muslims, to see them as He does, and to be the light that then to Jesus.

Matthew 5:14-15 : 14 "You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a
hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do men light a candle and put it under
a basket, but on a candlestick. And it gives light to all who are in the
house."

Ideas for prayer

- Pray for opportunities to show the love of Christ to Muslims around you
- Pray for, and offer generous hospitality to, those you know who are serving
Christ among Muslim people -

Romans 12:13 "contribute to the needs of the saints, practice hospitality."
- When you gather with fellow believers, remember to pray for Muslims
throughout the year and encourage them to also participate in 30 Days!

a) Pray for a more effective witness by the church in every Canadian community

Deut 4:6-7

6 (Job 28:28; Pr 1:7 ) Therefore, keep and do them, for this is your wisdom and
your understanding in the sight of the nations which shall hear all these
statutes, and say, "Surely this great nation is a wise and
understanding people."
7 (2Sa 7:23; Ps 46:1) For what nation is there so great, who has a god so near
to it as the Lord our God is in all things whenever we call on Him?

6 Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and
your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these
statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and
understanding people.
7 For what nation is there so great, who hath God so nigh unto them,
as the LORD our God is in all things that we call upon him for?

Matt 5:13-16

13 (Lev 2:13; Lk 14:34-35) "You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt

nothing but to be thrown out and to be trampled underfoot by men.

b) Pray for the province of British Columbia

I) Pray for the leaders of BC, that God's Spirit would influence then to
act justly, serve with integrity and honour high moral standards.
( 1 Tim 2:1 - 4) 1 Therefore I exhort first of all that you make supplications,
prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings for everyone, 2 (Ezr 6:10) for kings
and for all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceful life
in all godliness and honesty, 3 (1Ti 1:1; Lk 1:47) for this is good and
acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 4 (Eze 18:23; 18:32)who desires all
men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers,
intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; 2 for kings,
and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable
life in all godliness and honesty. 3For this is good and acceptable
in the sight of God our Saviour; 4 who will have all men to be saved,
and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

II) Pray for the churches of the province, that they would be lighthouses
beaming forth the illuminating truth of God's Word.

III) Pray that the Lord would use the Finding the Hope Campaign and booklet
to turn many hearts to Jesus

Conclusion:

Pray to the Lord and pray to the Lord to Feel His Glory around Him.

Pray to the Lord: "Dear God, please help me to put away falsehood 
and clothe myself in Your truth. "

Pray to the Lord and pray to know Eternity starts now.

Pray to the Lord and pray to seek the Lord in all that you do.

Pray to the Lord and pray to know the Lord as your light and salvation.

Pray for Nova Scotia and her Muslim populations

- in and around Halifax and other cities

- on university campuses

- for new workers among Muslims

- for pastors and churches to be bold in vision, passion and outreach
to Muslims in their areas.

- for Muslims who are searching for a better way to find a Christian friend
to share Jesus with and disciple them

- for Muslim-background believers to be both wise and bold in sharing their
new faith in Jesus with other Muslims
