Ezekiel 44

The East Gate for the Prince

1 (Eze 43:1; 40:6) Then he brought me back to the gate of the outer
sanctuary, which faces east. And it was shut.
2 (Eze 43:2-4) Then the Lord said to me: This gate shall be shut;
it shall not be opened, and no man shall enter by it.
Because the Lord, the God of Israel, has entered by it,
therefore it shall be shut.
3 (Eze 46:2; Ge 31:54; Ex 24:9-11) As for the prince, he shall sit
in it as prince to eat bread before the Lord. He shall enter
by the way of the vestibule of the gate and shall go out by the same way.
4 (Eze 1:28; 3:23; 40:20) Then he brought me by the way of the north gate
before the temple. And I looked, and the glory of the Lord filled
the house of the Lord, and I fell upon my face.
5 (Eze 40:4; 43:10-11) The Lord said to me: Son of man, mark well,
and see with your eyes and hear with your ears all that
I say to you concerning all the ordinances of the house of the Lord
and all its laws. And mark well those who may enter the house,
with all exits of the sanctuary.
6 (Eze 3:9; 45:9) You shall say to the rebellious, even to the house
of Israel, Thus says the Lord God: O house of Israel, let all
your abominations suffice;
7 (Lev 22:25; Ge 17:14; Lev 26:41) you brought foreigners into
My sanctuary, uncircumcised in heart and uncircumcised in flesh,
to be in My sanctuary to pollute it, even My house, when you offered
My food, the fat and the blood. For they have broken My covenant
because of all your abominations.
8 You have not kept the charge of My holy things. But you have set foreigners
to keep charge of My sanctuary.
9 (Eze 44:7; Joel 3:17) Thus says the Lord God: No foreigner,
uncircumcised in heart nor uncircumcised in flesh, shall enter
into My sanctuary, of any foreigner who is among the sons of Israel.

[1] Then he brought me back the way of the gate of the outward sanctuary
which looketh toward the east; and it was shut.
[2] Then said the LORD unto me; This gate shall be shut, it shall not be
opened, and no man shall enter in by it; because the LORD, the God of
Israel, hath entered in by it, therefore it shall be shut.
[3] It is for the prince; the prince, he shall sit in it to eat bread before
the LORD; he shall enter by the way of the porch of that gate, and shall go
out by the way of the same.
[4] Then brought he me the way of the north gate before the house: and I
looked, and, behold, the glory of the LORD filled the house of the LORD: and
I fell upon my face.
[5] And the LORD said unto me, Son of man, mark well, and behold with thine
eyes, and hear with thine ears all that I say unto thee concerning all the
ordinances of the house of the LORD, and all the laws thereof; and mark well
the entering in of the house, with every going forth of the sanctuary.
[6] And thou shalt say to the rebellious, even to the house of Israel, Thus
saith the Lord GOD; O ye house of Israel, let it suffice you of all your
abominations,
[7] In that ye have brought into my sanctuary strangers, uncircumcised in
heart, and uncircumcised in flesh, to be in my sanctuary, to pollute it,
even my house, when ye offer my bread, the fat and the blood, and they have
broken my covenant because of all your abominations.
[8] And ye have not kept the charge of mine holy things: but ye have set
keepers of my charge in my sanctuary for yourselves.
[9] Thus saith the Lord GOD; No stranger, uncircumcised in heart, nor
uncircumcised in flesh, shall enter into my sanctuary, of any stranger that
is among the children of Israel.

Laws for the Priests

10 (Eze 48:11; 2Ki 23:8-9) But the Levites who have gone far from Me
when Israel went astray, who went astray away from Me after their idols,
they shall bear the punishment of their iniquity.
11 (Nu 16:9; 2Ch 29:34) Yet they shall be ministers in My sanctuary,
having charge at the gates of the house and ministering to the house.
They shall slay the burnt offering and the sacrifice for the people,
and they shall stand before them to minister to them.
12 (2Ki 16:10-16; Ps 106:26) Because they ministered to them before
their idols and caused the house of Israel to fall into iniquity,
therefore I have lifted up My hand against them, says the Lord God,
that they shall bear the punishment of their iniquity.
13 (Nu 18:3; 2Ki 23:9) They shall not come near to Me to do the office
of a priest to Me, nor to come near to any of My holy things
in the Most Holy Place. But they shall bear their shame
and their abominations which they have committed.
14 (Nu 18:4; 1Ch 23:28-32) But I will make them keepers of the charge
of the temple for all its service and for all that shall be done in it.
15 (Eze 40:46; 43:19) But the Levitical priests, the sons of Zadok,
who kept the charge of My sanctuary when the sons of Israel went astray
from Me, they shall come near to Me to minister to Me, and they shall
stand before Me to offer to Me the fat and the blood, says the Lord God.
16 (Eze 41:22; Nu 18:7-8) They shall enter My sanctuary, and they shall
come near to My table to minister to Me, and they shall keep My charge.
17 (Rev 19:8; Ex 28:43) It shall come to pass that when they enter
at the gates of the inner court, they shall be clothed with linen garments.
And no wool shall come upon them while they minister in the gates
of the inner court, and within.
18 They shall have linen turbans on their heads and shall have linen breeches
on their loins. They shall not gird themselves with anything that causes sweat.
19 (Lev 6:27; Eze 46:20) When they go out into the outer court,
even into the outer court to the people, they shall put off their garments
in which they ministered and lay them in the holy chambers,
and they shall put on other garments. And they shall not sanctify
the people with their garments.
20 (Nu 6:5)Nor shall they shave their heads, nor suffer their locks
to grow long. They shall only trim the hair of their heads.
21 (Lev 10:9) Nor shall any priest drink wine
when they enter the inner court.
22 (Lev 21:7; 21:13-14) Nor shall they take for their wives a widow,
nor her who has been put away. But they shall take maidens of the seed
of the house of Israel, or a widow who had a priest before.
23 (Eze 22:26; Lev 10:10-11) They shall teach My people the difference
between the holy and profane, and cause them to discern
between the unclean and the clean.
24 (1Ch 23:4; 2Ch 19:8-10) In controversy they shall stand in judgment.
And they shall judge it according to My judgments.
And they shall keep My laws and My statutes in all My assemblies.
And they shall hallow My Sabbaths.
25 They shall not go to a dead person to defile themselves. But for father,
or for mother, or for son, or for daughter, for brother, or for sister
that has had no husband, they may defile themselves.
26 After he is cleansed, they shall reckon to him seven days.
27 (Nu 6:9-11) In the day that he goes into the sanctuary, to the inner court,
to minister in the sanctuary, he shall offer his sin offering,
says the Lord God.
28 (Nu 18:20; Dt 10:9) It shall be to them for an inheritance.
I am their inheritance. And you shall give them no possession in Israel.
I am their possession.
29 (Nu 18:14; Lev 27:21; 27:28) They shall eat the grain offering
and the sin offering and the guilt offering. And every dedicated thing
in Israel shall be theirs.
30 (Ne 10:35-37; Ex 23:19) The first of all the first fruits of all things
and every oblation of all of every sort of your oblations shall be
the priest's. You shall also give to the priest the first of your dough
to cause a blessing to rest in your house.
31 (Lev 22:8; Ex 22:31) The priests shall not eat any bird
or beast that has died naturally or was torn to pieces.

[10] And the Levites that are gone away far from me, when Israel went
astray, which went astray away from me after their idols; they shall even
bear their iniquity.
[11] Yet they shall be ministers in my sanctuary, having charge at the gates
of the house, and ministering to the house: they shall slay the burnt
offering and the sacrifice for the people, and they shall stand before them
to minister unto them.
[12] Because they ministered unto them before their idols, and caused the
house of Israel to fall into iniquity; therefore have I lifted up mine hand
against them, saith the Lord GOD, and they shall bear their iniquity.
[13] And they shall not come near unto me, to do the office of a priest unto
me, nor to come near to any of my holy things, in the most holy place: but
they shall bear their shame, and their abominations which they have
committed.

service thereof, and for all that shall be done therein.

and they shall not sanctify the people with their garments.

[21] Neither shall any priest drink wine, when they enter into the inner
court.

also give unto the priest the first of your dough, that he may cause the
blessing to rest in thine house.
[31] The priests shall not eat of any thing that is dead of itself, or torn,
whether it be fowl or beast.

Ezekiel 45

The Holy District

1 (Eze 48:29; Nu 34:13) Moreover, when you divide by lot the land
for inheritance, you shall offer an allotment to the Lord,
a holy portion of the land. The length shall be the length of 25000 cubits,
[About 8 miles, or 13 kilometers; and in vv. 3, 5, and 6.]
and the width shall be twenty thousand. [About 6 1/2 miles, or 11 kilometers.]
It shall be holy throughout its territory all around.
2 (Eze 42:16-20) Of this there shall be a square plot for the sanctuary,
five hundred by five hundred cubits,
[About 875 feet, or 265 meters.] with fifty cubits
[About 88 feet, or 27 meters.]
for an open space around it. 3Eze 48:10Of this measure you shall
measure the length of 25000 cubits and the width of ten thousand cubits.
[About 3 1/3 miles, or 5.3 kilometers.] And in it shall be the sanctuary,
the Most Holy Place.
4 (Nu 16:5; Eze 40:45) The holy portion of the land shall be for the priests,
the ministers of the sanctuary, who shall come near to minister to the Lord.
And it shall be a place for their houses and a holy place for the sanctuary.
5 (Eze 48:13) An area 25000 cubits in length and 100000 in width shall be
for the Levites, the ministers of the temple,
and for their possession cities in which to dwell.
6 (Eze 48:15-18; 48:30-35) You shall appoint the possession of the city
5000 cubits [About 1 2/3 miles, or 2.7 kilometers.] wide and 25000 cubits
long adjacent to the allotment of the holy portion. It shall be
for the whole house of Israel.

[1] Moreover, when ye shall divide by lot the land for inheritance, ye shall
offer an oblation unto the LORD, an holy portion of the land: the length
shall be the length of five and twenty thousand reeds, and the breadth shall
be ten thousand. This shall be holy in all the borders thereof round about.
[2] Of this there shall be for the sanctuary five hundred in length, with
five hundred in breadth, square round about; and fifty cubits round about
for the suburbs thereof.
[3] And of this measure shalt thou measure the length of five and twenty
thousand, and the breadth of ten thousand: and in it shall be the sanctuary
and the most holy place.
[4] The holy portion of the land shall be for the priests the ministers of
the sanctuary, which shall come near to minister unto the LORD: and it shall
be a place for their houses, and an holy place for the sanctuary.
[5] And the five and twenty thousand of length, and the ten thousand of
breadth, shall also the Levites, the ministers of the house, have for
themselves, for a possession for twenty chambers.
[6] And ye shall appoint the possession of the city five thousand broad, and
five and twenty thousand long, over against the oblation of the holy
portion: it shall be for the whole house of Israel.

The Portion for the Prince

7 (Eze 48:21; 34:24) A portion shall be for the prince on the one side
and on the other side of the holy allotment and property of the city,
adjacent to the holy allotment and the property of the city,
from the west side westward and from the east side eastward.
And the length shall correspond to one of the tribal portions,
from the west border to the east border.
8 (Eze 46:18; 22:27) In the land shall be his possession in Israel.
And My officials shall no more oppress My people. And the rest of the land
they shall give to the house of Israel according to their tribes.

[7] And a portion shall be for the prince on the one side and on the other
side of the oblation of the holy portion, and of the possession of the city,
before the oblation of the holy portion, and before the possession of the
city, from the west side westward, and from the east side eastward: and the
length shall be over against one of the portions, from the west border unto
the east border.
[8] In the land shall be his possession in Israel: and my princes shall no
more oppress my people; and the rest of the land shall they give to the
house of Israel according to their tribes.

Laws Governing the Prince

9 (Jer 22:3; Eze 44:6) Thus says the Lord God: Let it suffice you officials
of Israel. Remove violence and destruction,
and execute justice and righteousness. Take away your exactions
from My people, says the Lord God.
10 (Am 8:4-6; Mic 6:10-11) You shall have just balances and a just ephah
[An ephah was a dry measure of about 3/5 bushel, or 22 liters. and a just bath.
[A bath was a liquid measure of about 6 gallons, or 22 liters.
11 (Isa 5:10) The ephah and the bath shall be of one measure so that the bath
may contain the tenth part of a homer,[In dry measure, six bushels
or 220 liters; in liquid measure, 60 gallons or 220 liters.]
and the ephah the tenth part of a homer.
Their measure shall be after the homer.
12 (Ex 30:13; Lev 27:25; Nu 3:47) The shekel
[A shekel weighed about 2/5 ounce, or 12 grams.]
shall be twenty gerahs.Weighs 1/20 of a shekel.
Twenty shekels, twenty-five shekels, and fifteen shekels
shall be your mina.
[Sixty shekels equals about 1 1/2 pounds, or 690 grams.]
The common mina was 50 shekels.
13 This is the offering that you shall offer: the sixth part of an ephah
[Likely about 6 pounds, or 2.7 kilograms.] of a homer of wheat, and you shall
give the sixth part of an ephah [Likely about 5 pounds, or 2.3 kilograms.]
of a homer of barley.
14 Concerning the ordinance of oil that is the bath of oil, you shall offer
the tenth part of a bath [About 2 1/2 quarts, or 2.2 liters.] out of the kor,
[Equals a homer in liquid measure, 60 gallons or 220 liters.] which is a homer
or ten baths, for ten baths are a homer.
15 (Lev 1:4; 6:30) And one lamb shall be out of the flock, out of two hundred,
out of the watering places of Israel, as a grain offering and as a burnt
offering and for peace offerings, to make reconciliation for them,
says the Lord God.
16 (Ex 30:14-15; Isa 16:1) All the people of the land shall give this offering
for the prince in Israel.
17 (2Ch 31:3; Isa 66:23) It shall be the prince's part to give burnt
offerings and grain offerings and drink offerings in the feasts and in the
New Moons and in the Sabbaths, in all solemnities of the house of Israel.
He shall prepare the sin offering and the grain offering and the burnt
offering and the peace offerings,
to make reconciliation for the house of Israel.

[9] Thus saith the Lord GOD; Let it suffice you, O princes of Israel: remove
violence and spoil, and execute judgment and justice, take away your
exactions from my people, saith the Lord GOD.

peace offerings, to make reconciliation for them, saith the Lord GOD.
[16] All the people of the land shall give this oblation for the prince in
Israel.
[17] And it shall be the prince's part to give burnt offerings, and meat
offerings, and drink offerings, in the feasts, and in the new moons, and in
the sabbaths, in all solemnities of the house of Israel: he shall prepare
the sin offering, and the meat offering, and the burnt offering, and the
peace offerings, to make reconciliation for the house of Israel.

Observing the Feasts

18 (Lev 16:16; Ex 12:2) Thus says the Lord God: In the first month,
on the first day of the month, you shall take a young bull
without blemish and cleanse the sanctuary.
19 (Eze 43:20; Lev 16:18-20; Eze 43:14) And the priest shall take
some of the blood of the sin offering and put it on the doorposts
of the temple and on the four corners of the ledge of the altar
and on the gateposts of the inner court.
20 (Lev 16:20; Ps 19:12) So you shall do the seventh day of the month
for everyone who errs and for him who is naive.
So you shall make atonement for the temple.
21 (Lev 23:5-8) In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month,
you shall have the Passover, a feast of seven days. Unleavened bread
shall be eaten.
22 (Lev 4:14) On that day the prince shall prepare for himself
and for all the people of the land a bull as a sin offering.
23 (Lev 23:8; Job 42:8) For seven days of the feast he shall prepare
a burnt offering to the Lord, seven bulls and seven rams without blemish
daily for the seven days, and a male of the goats daily as a sin offering.
24 (Eze 46:5-7; Nu 28:12-15) He shall prepare a grain offering of an ephah
for a bull and an ephah for a ram and a hin
[About 1 gallon, or 3.8 liters.] of oil for an ephah.
25 (Nu 29:12-38; Lev 23:33-43) In the seventh month, on the 15th day
of the month, he shall do the like in the feast of the seven days,
according to the sin offering, according to the burnt offering,
and according to the grain offering, and according to the oil.

[18] Thus saith the Lord GOD; In the first month, in the first day of the
month, thou shalt take a young bullock without blemish, and cleanse the
sanctuary:
[19] And the priest shall take of the blood of the sin offering, and put it
upon the posts of the house, and upon the four corners of the settle of the
altar, and upon the posts of the gate of the inner court.
[20] And so thou shalt do the seventh day of the month for every one that
erreth, and for him that is simple: so shall ye reconcile the house.
[21] In the first month, in the fourteenth day of the month, ye shall have
the passover, a feast of seven days; unleavened bread shall be eaten.
[22] And upon that day shall the prince prepare for himself and for all the
people of the land a bullock for a sin offering.
[23] And seven days of the feast he shall prepare a burnt offering to the
LORD, seven bullocks and seven rams without blemish daily the seven days;
and a kid of the goats daily for a sin offering.
[24] And he shall prepare a meat offering of an ephah for a bullock, and an
ephah for a ram, and an hin of oil for an ephah.
[25] In the seventh month, in the fifteenth day of the month, shall he do
the like in the feast of the seven days, according to the sin offering,
according to the burnt offering, and according to the meat offering, and
according to the oil.

Ezekiel 46

The Prince and the Feasts

1 (Isa 66:23; Ex 20:9) Thus says the Lord God: The gate of the inner court
that faces east shall be shut the six working days. But on the Sabbath
it shall be opened, and in the day of the New Moon it shall be opened.
2 (Eze 44:3; 46:8) The prince shall enter by the way of the vestibule
of that gate from outside, and shall stand by the post of the gate,
and the priests shall prepare his burnt offering and his peace offerings,
and he shall worship at the threshold of the gate. Then he shall go out.
But the gate shall not be shut until the evening.
3 (Lk 1:10) Likewise the people of the land shall worship at the door
of this gate before the Lord in the Sabbaths and in the New Moons.
4 (Eze 45:17; Nu 28:9-10) The burnt offering that the prince shall
offer to the Lord in the Sabbath day shall be six lambs without blemish
and a ram without blemish.
5 (Eze 45:24; 46:7) The grain offering shall be an ephah
[Likely about 35 pounds, or 16 kilograms.] for a ram and the grain offering
for the lambs as he shall be able to give and a hin
[About 1 gallon, or 3.8 liters.] of oil to an ephah.
6 In the day of the New Moon it shall be a young bull without blemish
and six lambs and a ram. They shall be without blemish.
7 (Eze 46:5) He shall prepare a grain offering, an ephah
[Likely about 35 pounds, or 16 kilograms.] for a bull and an ephah for a ram,
and for the lambs according as his hand shall attain to,
and a hin of oil to an ephah.
8 (Eze 46:2) When the prince enters, he shall go in by the way
of the vestibule of that gate, and he shall go out the same way.
9 (Ex 23:14-17; 34:23) But when the people of the land shall come
before the Lord in the solemn feasts, he who enters by the way
of the north gate to worship shall go out by way of the south gate.
And he who enters by the way of the south gate shall go out by way
of the north gate. He shall not return by way of the gate
by which he entered, but shall go out the opposite gate.
10 (Ps 42:4; 1Ch 29:20) The prince shall be in their midst.
When they enter, he shall enter; and when they go out, he shall go out.
11 (Eze 46:5; 46:7) At the feasts and the appointed festivals
the grain offering shall be an ephah
[Likely about 35 pounds, or 16 kilograms.] for a bull, and an ephah for a ram,
and with the lambs as much as he is able to give, together with a hin of oil
for an ephah.
12 (Eze 45:17; 46:1-2) Now when the prince prepares a voluntary burnt
offering or voluntary peace offering to the Lord, the gate facing east
shall be opened for him; and he shall prepare his burnt offering
and his peace offerings as he did on the Sabbath day.
Then he shall go out. And after he goes out, the gate shall be shut.
13 (Isa 50:4) You shall daily prepare a burnt offering to the Lord of a lamb
of the first year without blemish. You shall prepare it every morning.
14 (Nu 28:5) You shall prepare a grain offering for it every morning,
the sixth part of an ephah,[Likely about 6 pounds, or 2.7 kilograms.]
and the third part of a hin [About 1 1/2 quarts, or 1.3 liters.] of oil
to temper with the fine flour, a grain offering continually by a perpetual
ordinance to the Lord.
15 Thus they shall prepare the lamb and the grain offering and the oil every
morning as a continual burnt offering.

[5] And the meat offering shall be an ephah for a ram, and the meat offering
for the lambs as he shall be able to give, and an hin of oil to an ephah.
[6] And in the day of the new moon it shall be a young bullock without
blemish, and six lambs, and a ram: they shall be without blemish.
[7] And he shall prepare a meat offering, an ephah for a bullock, and an
ephah for a ram, and for the lambs according as his hand shall attain unto,
and an hin of oil to an ephah.
[8] And when the prince shall enter, he shall go in by the way of the porch
of that gate, and he shall go forth by the way thereof.
[9] But when the people of the land shall come before the LORD in the solemn
feasts, he that entereth in by the way of the north gate to worship shall go
out by the way of the south gate; and he that entereth by the way of the
south gate shall go forth by the way of the north gate: he shall not return

Inheritance Laws for the Prince

16 (2Ch 21:3) Thus says the Lord God: If the prince gives a gift out
of his inheritance to any of his sons, it will belong to his sons.
It is their possession by inheritance.
17 (Lev 25:10) But if he gives a gift out of his inheritance to one
of his servants, it will be his until the year of liberty.
Then it will revert to the prince. His inheritance will be only his sons.
It will belong to them.
18 (Eze 45:8; 1Ki 21:19) Moreover the prince shall not take of the people's
inheritance by oppression to thrust them out of their possession.
But he shall give his sons inheritance out of his own possession
so that My people not be scattered, every man from his possession.

Preparations for the Offerings

19 (Eze 42:9) Then he brought me through the entrance, which was at the side
of the gate, into the holy chambers of the priests which face toward
the north. And there was a place at the extreme westward end of them.
20 (2Ch 35:13; Lev 2:4-7) Then he said to me, "This is the place
where the priests shall boil the guilt offering and the sin offering,
and where they shall bake the grain offering so that they not bear them
out into the outer court, to sanctify the people."
21 Then he brought me out into the outer court and caused me to pass
by the four corners of the court. And in every corner of the court
there was a court.
22 In the four corners of the court there were courts joined
of forty cubits long and thirty wide.[About 70 feet long and 53 feet wide,
or 21 meters long and 16 meters wide.] These four corners were
of one measurement.
23 There was a row of masonry all around in them, all around the four of them;
and it was made with hearths at the bottom of the rows all around.

the ark of the covenant, 'When you come to the bank of the Jordan, 
stand still in the river.'"
9 So Joshua said to the children of Israel, 
"Draw near and hear the words of the Lord your God."

God is among you, and that He will thoroughly drive out the Canaanites,

[One memorial and a reminder of the Red Sea]

The guest speaker spoke on the wisdom of trusting God and "stepping into the
river." He told of a pastor who trusted God and chose to speak the truths of
the Bible in a sermon despite the new law of his land. He was convicted of 
hate crimes and spent thirty days in jail. But his case was appealed, and the
court ruled he had the right to give a personal interpretation of the Bible 
and to urge others to follow.

The priests carrying the ark of the covenant had to make a choice too-either 
step into the water or stay on the shore. After escaping Egypt, the Israelites
wandered in the desert for forty years. Now they stood on the banks of the 
Jordan River, which was at flood stage and dangerously high. But they took 
that step, and God caused the waters to recede: "As soon as . . . their feet 
touched the water's edge, the water from upstream stopped flowing" 
(Joshua 3:15-16).

When we trust God with our lives, He gives us the courage to move forward, 
whether choosing to speak the truths of the Bible or to take a step into 
unknown territory. During the pastor's trial, the court heard the gospel 
through listening to his sermon. And, in Joshua, the Israelites crossed safely
into the promised land and shared about the power of God with future 
generations (v. 17; 4:24).

If we step out in faith, God will see to the rest.

Week 3 - Saved Now and forever Day 7 - The Great Exchange

2 Cor 5:21 - God made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us,
that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin;
that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

People were talking ; the gossip lines were busy day and night.
Andrea, a Bible study leader and pillar of the church, had been
accused of indiscretion with a married man, another member
of the congregation. The rumours were proven untrue,
but that hardly mattered anymore. The damage was done.
"It's just not far," Andrea said. " It was all so unnecessary.
And now, even though I've done nothing wrong, my relationship
with that church will never be the same again."
We all know what pain is caused by undeserved accusation,
rejection, and misunderstanding. Sometimes, when the smoke clears,
irreparable damage has been done, even when no sin has occurred.
We can understand the torment that comes when we've sinned,
but when we've done nothing wrong, the injustice seem unbearable.
Jesus knew what it was to suffer unjustly. He had never sinned at all,
yet he 'became sin' for us. He gave himself in an outrageous exchange:
he took our sin and gave us his righteousness.
Living in this exchange does not mean, of course, that we will be exempt
from pain, that we will never again suffer unjustly or be subject
to rejection. But in Christ, we are declared righteous before God,
just as Jesus himself is righteous. And as we submit
to the Holy Spirit's work in us, we become righteous ,
obeying him and growing in grace. Christ endured rejection
for us so that we might live in him.

Application

a) Have I ever suffered unjustly or been rejected by someone without cause?

b) How can this verse, coupled with my own experience give me a greater
depth of appreciation of what Christ suffered for me?

a high concentration of Muslin international students in the area,
a harvest field in itself.

- for pastors and churches to be bold in vision, passion and outreach
to Muslims in their areas.

- for Muslims who are searching for a better way to find a Christian friend

Halifax is the centre of Muslim activity for the Province of Nova Scotia
with at least 10 Islamic centres (mosques) and musallas
(prayer locations, especially for Friday prayer). And there are other mosques
in Chebucto, Kearney Lake, Dartmouth, Bedford and Truro.

Though the original community of Muslims was primarily composed of
newcomers from Turkey, Pakistan, Bangladesh and India, continued immigration
has further diversified this community. Anf it is said thay Arabic
is the second most spoken language in Halifax.

while conservative estimates place the number of Muslims at almost 15000
in 2014, the Imama of a primary Halifax mosque estimates their population
somewhere between 25000 to 30000.

When the new moon is sighted it marks the beginning of t he new Islamic month
and Eid al-Fitr, the "Festival of Breaking the Fast", will start! After 30 days
of fasting, the Eid celebration at the end of Ramadan is a joyful time that
usually lasts about 3 days. Muslims will buy new clothes, exchange gifts and,
of course, enjoy special foods. In Muslim-majority nations, the streets may be
decorated and festivals will be held.
For many Muslims, Eid-al-Fitr begins with communal prayers at daybreak and the
distribution of money (zakat) to the poor, which is one of the 5 pillars of
Islam.
You can greet Muslim friends during this time by saying "Eid Mubarak",
which means Blessed Eid!"
Ramadan is over for this year, but you can continue to pray for Muslims you
know, and Muslims around the world:
- Despite the unsettling developments in our world today that involve actions
in the name of Islam, there is at the same time a largely untold story about
unprecedented movement to Christ among Muslims. There have been more such
movements of thousands or more new disciples among Muslims in the last three
decades or so than in all the previous history of Christian Muslim
relationships! Pray for this momentum to continue.

Acts 2:12-17 : 17 12 They were all amazed and perplexed, saying to each other,
"What does this mean?"
13 (1Co 14:23) Others mocking said, "These men are full of new wine."

Peter's Speech at Pentecost

14 (Ac 1:26) But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice

hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do men light a candle and put it under
a basket, but on a candlestick. And it gives light to all who are in the
house."

Ideas for prayer

- Pray for opportunities to show the love of Christ to Muslims around you
- Pray for, and offer generous hospitality to, those you know who are serving
Christ among Muslim people -

Romans 12:13 "contribute to the needs of the saints, practice hospitality."
- When you gather with fellow believers, remember to pray for Muslims
throughout the year and encourage them to also participate in 30 Days!
