Galatians 2:15-21

Jews, Like Gentiles, Are Saved by Faith

15 (Eph 2:3) We are Jews by nature, and not Gentile sinners,
16 (Ps 143:2; Php 3:9) yet we know that a man is not justified
by the works of the law, but through faith in Jesus Christ.
Even we have believed in Christ Jesus, so that we might be justified
by faith in Christ, rather than by the works of the law.
For by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified.
17 (Gal 2:15) If, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves
also are found to be sinners, is Christ therefore the minister of sin?
God forbid!
18 For if I build again the things which I destroyed,
I make myself a transgressor.
19 (Ro 7:4; 6:2) For through the law I am dead to the law,
that I might live for God.
20 (Ro 8:37; Gal 1:4) I have been crucified with Christ.
It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me.
And the life I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God,
Or by the faith of the Son of God. who loved me and gave Himself for me.
21 (Gal 3:21; Heb 7:11) I do not nullify the grace of God.
For if righteousness comes by the law, then Christ died in vain.

Galatians 2:21

21 (Gal 3:21; Heb 7:11) I do not nullify the grace of God.
For if righteousness comes by the law, then Christ died in vain.

Romans 3:27-28

27 (Ro 2:17; 2:23) Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law?
Of works? No, but by the law of faith.

without the works of the law.

Romans 6:23

Galatians 1:16-19

But I went into Arabia, and returned again to Damascus.

the Lord's brother.

Romans 6:6,12-14

6 (Gal 2:20; Eph 4:22) knowing this, that our old man has been crucified
with Him, so that the body of sin might be destroyed, and we should
no longer be slaves to sin.
12 (Ro 6:16; Ps 19:13) Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body,
that you should obey it in its lusts.
13 (Ro 7:5; 12:1) Do not yield your members to sin as instruments
of unrighteousness, but yield yourselves to God, as those who are alive
from the dead, and your bodies to God as instruments of righteousness.
14 (Ro 6:12; 8:2) For sin shall not have dominion over you,
for you are not under the law, but under grace. 


[6] Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of
sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
[12] Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it
in the lusts thereof.
[13] Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto
sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead,
and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
[14] For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law,
but under grace.

and live by trusting in Him.

Matthew 8:5-13

The Healing of a Centurion's Servant

Lk 7:1-10; Jn 4:43-54

5 (Lk 7:1-10) And when Jesus entered Capernaum, a centurion
(Zec 9:9.) came to Him, entreating Him,
6 (Mt 4:24) and saying, "Lord, my servant is lying at home,
sick with paralysis, terribly tormented."
7 Jesus said to him, "I will come and heal him."
8 (Ps 107:20) The centurion answered and said, "Lord, I am not worthy
that You should come under my roof. But speak the word only,
and my servant will be healed.
9 For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me.
And I say to this man, 'Go,' and he goes, and to another, 'Come,'
and he comes, and to my servant, 'Do this,' and he does it."
10 (Mt 15:28; Mk 6:6) When Jesus heard it, He was amazed
and said to those who followed, "Truly I say to you, I have not found
such great faith, no, not in Israel.
11 (Mal 1:11; Isa 59:19) And I say to you that many will come
from the east and west and will dine with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob
in the kingdom of heaven.

to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and
to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.
[10] When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed,
Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.
[11] And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west,
and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of
heaven.
[12] But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness:
there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
[13] And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast
believed, so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the

Luke 7:1-17

The Healing of a Centurion's Servant
Mt 8:5-13; Jn 4:43-54

1 (Mt 8:5-13) When He had completed all His words in the hearing
of the people, He entered Capernaum.
2 Now a centurion's Gk. 2 lepta. A lepton, meaning "small" or "thin,"
is a fraction of a penny and about 1/128 of a denarius, which was
a day's wage. A Jewish bronze or copper coin, it was the smallest coin
circulated. servant, who was dear to him, was sick and ready to die.
3 (Mt 8:5) When he heard of Jesus, he sent the elders of the Jews to Him,
asking Him to come and heal his servant.
4 When they came to Jesus, they asked Him earnestly, saying,
"You should do this for him for he is worthy,
5 for he loves our nation, and he has built us a synagogue."
6 (Lk 8:49) So Jesus went with them.
When He was not far from the house, the centurion sent friends
to Him, saying, "Lord, do not trouble Yourself,
for I am not worthy to have You come under my roof.
7 (Ps 107:20) Likewise, I did not think myself worthy to come to You.
But say the word, and my servant will be healed.
8 For I myself am a man placed under authority, having soldiers under me.
I say to one, 'Go,' and he goes, and to another, 'Come,' and he comes
and to my servant, 'Do this,' and he does it."
9 (Mt 8:10) When Jesus heard these words, He marveled at him,
and turned and said to the people who followed Him,
"I tell you, I have not found such great faith even in Israel."
10 Then those who were sent, returning to the house,
found the servant well who had been sick.

Luke 7
[1] Now when he had ended all his sayings in the audience of the people,
he entered into Capernaum.
[2] And a certain centurion's servant, who was dear unto him, was sick,
and ready to die.
[3] And when he heard of Jesus, he sent unto him the elders of the Jews,
beseeching him that he would come and heal his servant.
[4] And when they came to Jesus, they besought him instantly, saying,
That he was worthy for whom he should do this:
[5] For he loveth our nation, and he hath built us a synagogue.
[6] Then Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the
house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying unto him, Lord, trouble
not thyself: for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof:
[7] Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee: but say
in a word, and my servant shall be healed.

The Raising of the Widow's Sonur

11 The following day He went into a city called Nain,
and many of His disciples and a large crowd went with Him.
12 (Lk 8:42)When He came near the gate of the city, a man who had died was
being carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow.
And a large crowd from the city was with her.
13 (Lk 8:52; Heb 4:15 )When the Lord saw her, He had compassion on her
and said to her, "Do not weep."
14 Then He came and touched the coffin, and those who carried it stood still.
He said, "Young man, I say to you, arise."
15 He who was dead sat up and began to speak. And He gave him to his mother.
16 (Mt 9:8; Lk 7:3) 9Fear came on everyone. And they glorified God, saying,
"A great prophet has risen up among us!" and "God has visited His people!"
17 This rumor of Him went throughout all Judea and the surrounding region. 

[11] And it came to pass the day after, that he went into a city called
Nain; and many of his disciples went with him, and much people.
[12] Now when he came nigh to the gate of the city, behold, there was a dead
man carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow: and much
people of the city was with her.
[13] And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her,
Weep not.
[14] And he came and touched the bier: and they that bare him stood still.
And he said, Young man, I say unto thee, Arise.
[15] And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he delivered him
to his mother.
[16] And there came a fear on all: and they glorified God, saying, That a
great prophet is risen up among us; and, That God hath visited his people.
[17] And this rumour of him went forth throughout all Judaea, and throughout

The Messengers From John the Baptist
Lk 7:18-35

2 (Mt 14:3; 4:12) Now when John had heard in prison the works of Christ,
he sent two of his disciples,
3 (Heb 10:37; Jn 11:27) and said to Him, "Are You He who should come,
or should we look for another?"
4 Jesus answered them, "Go and tell John what you hear and see:
5 (Lk 4:18; Isa 35:4-6; Mt 5:3) The blind receive their sight
and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear,
the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.

6 (Isa 8:14-15; Mt 24:10) Blessed is he who does not fall away because of Me."

more than a prophet.
[10] For this is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger
before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.
[11] Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not
risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in
the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.

suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.

Luke 7:18-35

The Messengers From John the Baptist

18 The disciples of John told him of all these things.
19 (Lk 10:1; Jn 4:25) John, calling for two of his disciples, sent them
to Jesus, saying,
"Are You the One who is coming, or shall we look for another?"
20 When the men had come to Him, they said, "John the Baptist has sent us
to You, saying, 'Are You the One who is coming,
or shall we look for another?' "
21 (Mk 3:10) In that same hour He cured many of their infirmities
and afflictions and evil spirits. And to many who were blind He gave sight.
22 (Lk 4:18; Isa 35:5-6) So Jesus answered them, "Go and tell John what
you have seen and heard: that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers
are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised,
and the gospel is preached to the poor.
23 (Isa 8:14-15) Blessed is he who does not fall away on account of Me."
24 (Lk 1:80; 3:2) When the messengers of John had departed,
He began to speak to the crowd concerning John:
"What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken by the wind?
25 If not, what did you go out to see? A man dressed in fine clothes?
Now those who are splendidly clothed
and live luxuriously are in royal palaces.
26 (Lk 1:76; 20:6) What then did you go out to see? A prophet?
Yes, I say to you, and much more than a prophet.
27 (Mal 3:1; Mk 1:2) This is he of whom it is written:
'Look, I am sending My messenger before Your face,
who shall prepare Your way before You.'(Dt 6:5.)
28 I say to you, among those who are born of women there is no greater
prophet than John the Baptist. Yet he who is least in the kingdom of God
is greater than he."
29 (Lk 3:12; 7:35) All the people who heard Him,
including the tax collectors, justified God, having been baptized
with the baptism of John.
30 (Mt 22:35) But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the counsel of God
for themselves, not having been baptized by John.
31 Then the Lord said, "To what then shall I compare the men
of this generation, and what are they like?
32 They are like children sitting in the marketplace, calling to each other,
saying:
'We played the flute for you,
and you did not dance;
we mourned to you,
and you did not weep.'
33 (Lk 1:15; Mt 3:4) For John the Baptist came neither eating bread
nor drinking wine. But you say, 'He has a demon.'
34 (Lk 15:2; Mt 9:11) The Son of Man has come eating and drinking.
But you say, 'Look, a glutton and a drunkard,
a friend of tax collectors and sinners!'
35 (Pr 8:32-36; Lk 7:29) But wisdom is justified by all her children."

[19] And John calling unto him two of his disciples sent them to Jesus,

unto thee, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?
[21] And in that same hour he cured many of their infirmities and plagues,
and of evil spirits; and unto many that were blind he gave sight.
[22] Then Jesus answering said unto them, Go your way, and tell John what
things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the

Matthew 11:20-30

Unrepentant Cities
Lk 10:13-15

20 (Ps 81:11-13; Isa 1:2-5) Then He began to reprimand the cities
where most of His mighty works were done, because they did not repent:
21 (Mt 15:21; Mk 6:45) "Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida!
For if the mighty works which were done in you had been done
in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.
22 (Mt 10:15; 11:24) But I say to you, it will be more tolerable
for Tyre and Sidon on the Day of Judgment than for you.
23 (Isa 14:13-15; Mt 4:13) And you, Capernaum, who is exalted toward heaven,
will be brought down to Hades. For if the mighty works which have been done
in you had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.
24 (Mt 10:15; 11:22) But I say to you that it shall be more tolerable
for the land of Sodom on the Day of Judgment than for you."

Come to Me and Rest

A Sinful Woman Forgiven

and what kind of woman she is who is touching Him, for she is a sinner."
40 Jesus answered him, "Simon, I have something to say to you."
He said, "Teacher, say it."

The Priest Tries to Banish Amos

10 (Jer 38:4; 26:8-11) Then Amaziah the priest of Bethel sent a message
to Jeroboam king of Israel, saying, "Amos has conspired against you
at the very center of the house of Israel. The country cannot endure
all his words.
11 For this is what Amos said:
'Jeroboam will die by the sword,
and Israel will surely be exiled
away from its land.' "
12 (Mt 8:34; 1Sa 9:9) So Amaziah said to Amos, "O seer, go,
flee back to the land of Judah.
Earn your sustenance there, and prophesy there.
13 (Am 2:12; 1Ki 12:29) But do not prophesy any more at Bethel,
for it is the king's sanctuary and a royal temple."
14 (2Ki 2:5; 4:38) But Amos answered Amaziah: "I am no prophet,
and I am no prophet's disciple. Rather, I am a herdsman
and a dresser of sycamore trees.

Amos 7

me, Go, prophesy unto my people Israel.
[16] Now therefore hear thou the word of the LORD: Thou sayest, Prophesy
not against Israel, and drop not thy word against the house of Isaac.
[17] Therefore thus saith the LORD; Thy wife shall be an harlot in the
city, and thy sons and thy daughters shall fall by the sword, and thy land
shall be divided by line; and thou shalt die in a polluted land:
and Israel shall surely go into captivity forth of his land.

There are fourteen billion trees in the state of Michigan, most of them quite
ordinary by most standards. Yet the state hosts an annual "Big Tree Hunt," a 
contest to identify those trees that are oldest and biggest, trees that can be
honoured as a living landmark. The contest elevates ordinary trees to another 
level: inside any forest could be an award-winner, just waiting to be noticed.

Unlike most people, God always notices the ordinary. He cares about the what 
and whom that others overlook. God sent a common man named Amos to Israel 
during the reign of King Jeroboam. Amos exhorted his people to turn from evil 
and seek justice but was ostracized and told to be quiet."Get out, you seer!"
they said with scorn. "Go back to the land of Judah . . . and do your 
prophesying there" (Amos 7:12). Amos responded, "I was neither a prophet nor 
the son of a prophet, but I was a shepherd, and I also took care of 
sycamore-fig trees. But the Lord took me from tending the flock and said to 
me, 'Go, prophesy to my people Israel'" (vv. 14-15).

God knew and noticed Amos when he was just a common shepherd, tending to 
flocks and trees. Hundreds of years later, Jesus noticed and called out the 
ordinary Nathanael (John 1:48) and Zacchaeus (Luke 19:4-5) near the fig and 
sycamore trees. No matter how obscure we feel, He sees us, loves us, and uses
us for His purposes.

John 8:12

shall not walk in the darkness, but shall have the light of life."

12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world:
he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness,
but shall have the light of life.

When Judy Garland stepped onstage, she filled the spotlight. Nothing was
illuminated but her face, and as she sang, her listeners had a sense of being
transported beyond themselves into the meaning of her song. The focus of
reality, at that moment, was "Judy", and everything else faded into the dim
recesses of the shadowed room. The spotlight brought her into sharp focus
as the center of attention, and all around her was darkness.
When the scriptures speaks of Jesus as "the light," the image is not
of thousands of blazing bulbs lighting up a football field for a night game.
Rather, he is like a hand-help lamp that throws a circle of light in the
immediate vicinity. such a lamp lights the path that a traveler will walk,
but lights it only one step at a time.
Jesus is the center of that circle of light. As we follow him, we share the
light, but he is always at center. Jesus Christ is the focal point,
and everything else fades into dim gray by comparison.
If we are to keep our lives illuminated, to have his light falling upon the
road we walk, we must stay close to him. Jesus does not hand the lamp
to us and suggest that we go the way he wants; he , the Light, leads,
and if we want to stay in the light, we follow.

Application

Charlottetown does not currently (fall 2014) have a local CNMM network.
Pray with us for God's people to come together in reaching Muslims
cooperatively across denominational and organisational lines.

More than 200 attended the Eid festival at the end of Ramadan, the Islamic
month of fasting during daylight hours and the reading of the Qur'an, at
the Dar as-Salam mosque in 2014. This second mosque established
in Charlottetown, the other being the Muslims Association of PEI.
As of mid-2014,there are between 250 to 300 families, mostly in Charlottetown.

The Muslims of Charlottetown see their community as symbolically important
for this nation since this is known as the "birthplace of Canada". Yet we were
established as the "Dominion of Canada" with an appeal not only to
monarchial authority, but even more to God's higher Biblical authority as
shown in Psalm 72:8, "May he have dominion from sea to sea,
and from the River to the ends of the earth."
Let us intercede together for:

- the growing Muslim population of Charlottetown and spreading
outward through PEI to encounter the Prince of Peace.
- believers to have faith and vision to reach out to the Muslim Community
in contextual ways to share the Gospel
- churches and ministries to rise up in wisdom, knowledge and understanding,
giving and training, coaching and encouragement to believers reaching
out to Muslims locally.
- a prayer movement to be established, feeding a growing move of Yahweh's
Spirit in His churches and people , and an awakening an openness
and spiritual hunger in Muslims for relationship with the Father
through the Son.

When the new moon is sighted it marks the beginning of t he new Islamic month
and Eid al-Fitr, the "Festival of Breaking the Fast", will start! After 30 days
of fasting, the Eid celebration at the end of Ramadan is a joyful time that
usually lasts about 3 days. Muslims will buy new clothes, exchange gifts and,
of course, enjoy special foods. In Muslim-majority nations, the streets may be
decorated and festivals will be held.
For many Muslims, Eid-al-Fitr begins with communal prayers at daybreak and the
distribution of money (zakat) to the poor, which is one of the 5 pillars of
Islam.
You can greet Muslim friends during this time by saying "Eid Mubarak",
which means Blessed Eid!"
Ramadan is over for this year, but you can continue to pray for Muslims you
know, and Muslims around the world:
- Despite the unsettling developments in our world today that involve actions
in the name of Islam, there is at the same time a largely untold story about
unprecedented movement to Christ among Muslims. There have been more such
movements of thousands or more new disciples among Muslims in the last three
decades or so than in all the previous history of Christian Muslim
relationships! Pray for this momentum to continue.

Acts 2:12-17 : 17 12 They were all amazed and perplexed, saying to each other,
"What does this mean?"
13 (1Co 14:23) Others mocking said, "These men are full of new wine."

Peter's Speech at Pentecost

14 (Ac 1:26) But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice
and said to them, "Men of Judea and all you who dwell in Jerusalem,
let this be known to you, and listen to my words.
15 For these are not drunk, as you suppose,

- Pray for Christian workers an organisations focused on seeing effective
discipleship movements among Muslim people.

- Ask the Holy Spirit to continue to inspire you to have god's heart for
Muslims, to see them as He does, and to be the light that then to Jesus.

Ideas for prayer

- Pray for opportunities to show the love of Christ to Muslims around you
- Pray for, and offer generous hospitality to, those you know who are serving
Christ among Muslim people -

Romans 12:13 "contribute to the needs of the saints, practice hospitality."
- When you gather with fellow believers, remember to pray for Muslims
throughout the year and encourage them to also participate in 30 Days!

My paternal side is of Muslim heritage and will offer this section to further
call for Muslim converts to Christian and any other converts to Christianity

a) Pray for a more effective witness by the church in every Canadian community

statutes, and say, "Surely this great nation is a wise and
understanding people."

to it as the Lord our God is in all things whenever we call on Him?

your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these

I) Pray for the leaders of British Columbia.
 that God's Spirit would influence then to
act justly, serve with integrity and honour high moral standards.
( 1 Tim 2:1 - 4) 1 Therefore I exhort first of all that you make supplications,
prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings for everyone, 2 (Ezr 6:10) for kings
and for all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceful life
in all godliness and honesty, 3 (1Ti 1:1; Lk 1:47) for this is good and
acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 4 (Eze 18:23; 18:32)who desires all
men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers,
intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; 2 for kings,
and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable
life in all godliness and honesty. 3For this is good and acceptable
in the sight of God our Saviour; 4 who will have all men to be saved,
and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

II) Pray for the churches of the province, that they would be lighthouses
beaming forth the illuminating truth of God's Word.

III) Pray that the Lord would use the Finding the Hope Campaign and booklet
to turn many hearts to Jesus 


Conclusion:

Pray to the Lord and pray to know how you are justified in the Salvation
of Jesus Christ.

Pray to the Lord and pray to have Faith in Him who saves you. 

Pray to the Lord: "Dear God, thank You for loving me, 
even when I feel overlooked."

Pray to the Lord and pray to know Him as the Light of the World.

Pray to the Lord and pray not to choked in the ways of the world.

Pray to the Lord and pray to seek His Wisdom.
