LEVITICUS 8

The Consecration of Aaron and His Sons

Ex 29:1-37

1 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
2 (Ex 28:2-4) Take Aaron and his sons with him,
and the garments, and the anointing oil,
and a bull for the sin offering,
and two rams, and a basket of unleavened bread,
3 and gather all the congregation together
at the entrance of the tent of meeting.
4 And Moses did as the Lord commanded him,
and the assembly was gathered together
at the entrance of the tent of meeting.
5 Moses said to the congregation,
"This is the thing which the Lord commanded to be done."
6 (Ex 29:4; 1Co 6:11) Moses brought Aaron and his sons
and washed them with water.
7 (Ex 28:4) Then he put the tunic on him, and tied the sash around him,
and clothed him with the robe, and putthe ephod upon him, and he girded
him with the decorative band of the ephod and bound the ephod to him.
8 (Ezr 2:63) He put the breastplate on him. He also put the Urim
and the Thummim in the breastplate.
9 Then he put the turban upon his head.
Also on the turban at the front he put the golden plate,
the holy crown, as the Lord commanded Moses.
10 Moses took the anointing oil,
and anointed the tabernacle and all that was in it,
and sanctified them.
11 He sprinkled oil on the altar seven times and anointed the altar
and all its vessels, both the laver and its stand, to sanctify them.
12 (Ex 30:30; Ps 133:2) Then he poured some of the anointing oil
on the head of Aaron and anointed him to sanctify him.
13 (Ex 29:8-9) Moses brought the sons of Aaron and put tunics on them,
and girded them with sashes, and put headbands on them, as the Lord
commanded Moses.
14 (Eze 43:19) He brought the bull for the sin offering,
and Aaron and his sons laid their hands on the head of the bull
for the sin offering.
15 (Lev 4:7) He slaughtered it, and Moses took the blood,
and put it on the horns of the altar around it with his finger,
and purified the altar, and poured the blood at the base of the altar,
and sanctified it to make reconciliation on it.
16 (Ex 29:13) He took all the fat that was on the entrails,
and the appendage above the liver, and the two kidneys with their fat,
and Moses burned them on the altar.
17 (Lev 4:11-12; Ex 29:14) But the bull, and its hide, its flesh,
and its refuse he burned with fire outside the camp,
as the Lord commanded Moses.
18 (Lev 8:2) Then he brought the ram for the burnt offering,
and Aaron and his sons laid their hands on the head of the ram.
19 He killed it, and Moses sprinkled the blood on the sides of the altar.
20 He cut the ram into pieces, and Moses burned the head, the pieces,
and the fat.
21 (Ex 29:18) He washed the entrails and the legs in water,
and Moses burned the whole ram on the altar. It was a burnt offering
for a pleasing aroma, and a food offering made by fire to the Lord,
as the Lord commanded Moses.
22 (Lev 8:2) Next he brought the other ram, the ram of consecration,
and Aaron and his sons laid their hands on the head of the ram.
23 (Ex 29:20; Lev 14:14) He slaughtered it, and Moses took some
of its blood and put it on the tip of the right ear of Aaron,
and on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot.
24 He brought the sons of Aaron, and Moses put some of the blood
on the tips of their right ears, and on the thumbs of their right hands,
and on the big toes of their right feet.
Then Moses sprinkled the blood on the sides of the altar.
25 He took the fat, and the fatty tail, and all the fat that was
on the entrails, and the appendage above the liver, and the two kidneys,
and their fat, and the right thigh,
26 (Ex 29:23) and out of the basket of unleavened bread that was before
the Lord he took one unleavened cake, and a cake of oiled bread,
and one wafer and put them on the fat and on the right thigh.
27 And he put all these on the hands of Aaron and on the hands of his sons
and waved them for a wave offering before the Lord.
28 (Ex 29:25) Then Moses took them from off their hands
and burned them on the altar with the burnt offering.
This was a consecration for a pleasing aroma,
an offering made by fire to the Lord.
29 Moses took the breast and waved it for a wave offering before the Lord.
This part of the ram of consecration was for Moses,
as the Lord commanded Moses.
30 (Nu 3:3; Ex 29:21) Then Moses took some of the anointing oil
and some of the blood which was on the altar and sprinkled it on Aaron,
and on his garments, and on his sons, and on the garments of his sons
with him and sanctified Aaron, and his garments, and his sons,
and the garments of his sons with him.
31 (Ex 29:31-32) Moses said to Aaron and to his sons,
"Boil the flesh at the entrance of the tent of meeting
and eat it there with the bread that is in the basket of consecrations
just as I commanded, saying, 'Aaron and his sons shall eat it.'
32 (Ex 29:34) That which remains of the flesh
and of the bread you shall burn up.
33 (Ex 29:35) You shall not go out of the door of the tent of meeting
for seven days, until the days of your consecration are at an end,
for your consecration will take seven days.
34 (Heb 7:16) As he has done this day, so the Lord has commanded
what is to be done to make atonement for you.
35 (Nu 3:7; 9:19) Therefore you shall abide at the entrance of the tent
of meeting day and night for seven days and keep the charge of the Lord
that you do not die, for so I have been commanded."
36 So Aaron and his sons did all things which
the Lord commanded by the hand of Moses.

Leviticus 8
[1] And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
[2] Take Aaron and his sons with him, and the garments, and the anointing
oil, and a bullock for the sin offering, and two rams, and a basket of
unleavened bread;
[3] And gather thou all the congregation together unto the door of the
tabernacle of the congregation.
[4] And Moses did as the LORD commanded him; and the assembly was gathered
together unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
[5] And Moses said unto the congregation, This is the thing which the LORD
commanded to be done.
[6] And Moses brought Aaron and his sons, and washed them with water.
[7] And he put upon him the coat, and girded him with the girdle, and
clothed him with the robe, and put the ephod upon him, and he girded him
with the curious girdle of the ephod, and bound it unto him therewith.
[8] And he put the breastplate upon him: also he put in the breastplate the
Urim and the Thummim.
[9] And he put the mitre upon his head; also upon the mitre, even upon his
forefront, did he put the golden plate, the holy crown; as the LORD
commanded Moses.
[10] And Moses took the anointing oil, and anointed the tabernacle and all
that was therein, and sanctified them.
[11] And he sprinkled thereof upon the altar seven times, and anointed the
altar and all his vessels, both the laver and his foot, to sanctify them.
[12] And he poured of the anointing oil upon Aaron's head, and anointed him,
to sanctify him.
[13] And Moses brought Aaron's sons, and put coats upon them, and girded
them with girdles, and put bonnets upon them; as the LORD commanded Moses.
[14] And he brought the bullock for the sin offering: and Aaron and his sons
laid their hands upon the head of the bullock for the sin offering.
[15] And he slew it; and Moses took the blood, and put it upon the horns of
the altar round about with his finger, and purified the altar, and poured
the blood at the bottom of the altar, and sanctified it, to make
reconciliation upon it.
[16] And he took all the fat that was upon the inwards, and caul above the
liver, and the two kidneys, and their fat, and Moses burned it upon the
altar.
[17] But the bullock, and his hide, his flesh, and his dung, he burnt with
fire without the camp; as the LORD commanded Moses.
[18] And he brought the ram for the burnt offering: and Aaron and his sons
laid their hands upon the head of the ram.
[19] And he killed it; and Moses sprinkled the blood upon the altar round
about.
[20] And he cut the ram into pieces; and Moses burnt the head, and the
pieces, and the fat.
[21] And he washed the inwards and the legs in water; and Moses burnt the
whole ram upon the altar: it was a burnt sacrifice for a sweet savour, and
an offering made by fire unto the LORD; as the LORD commanded Moses.
[22] And he brought the other ram, the ram of consecration: and Aaron and
his sons laid their hands upon the head of the ram.
[23] And he slew it; and Moses took of the blood of it, and put it upon the
tip of Aaron's right ear, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the
great toe of his right foot.
[24] And he brought Aaron's sons, and Moses put of the blood upon the tip of
their right ear, and upon the thumbs of their right hands, and upon the
great toes of their right feet: and Moses sprinkled the blood upon the altar
round about.
[25] And he took the fat, and the rump, and all the fat that was upon the
inwards, and the caul above the liver, and the two kidneys, and their fat,
and the right shoulder:
[26] And out of the basket of unleavened bread, that was before the LORD, he
took one unleavened cake, and a cake of oiled bread, and one wafer, and put
them on the fat, and upon the right shoulder:
[27] And he put all upon Aaron's hands, and upon his sons' hands, and waved
them for a wave offering before the LORD.
[28] And Moses took them from off their hands, and burnt them on the altar
upon the burnt offering: they were consecrations for a sweet savour: it is
an offering made by fire unto the LORD.
[29] And Moses took the breast, and waved it for a wave offering before the
LORD: for of the ram of consecration it was Moses' part; as the LORD
commanded Moses.
[30] And Moses took of the anointing oil, and of the blood which was upon
the altar, and sprinkled it upon Aaron, and upon his garments, and upon his
sons, and upon his sons' garments with him; and sanctified Aaron, and his
garments, and his sons, and his sons' garments with him.
[31] And Moses said unto Aaron and to his sons, Boil the flesh at the door
of the tabernacle of the congregation: and there eat it with the bread that
is in the basket of consecrations, as I commanded, saying, Aaron and his
sons shall eat it.
[32] And that which remaineth of the flesh and of the bread shall ye burn
with fire.
[33] And ye shall not go out of the door of the tabernacle of the
congregation in seven days, until the days of your consecration be at an
end: for seven days shall he consecrate you.
[34] As he hath done this day, so the LORD hath commanded to do, to make an
atonement for you.
[35] Therefore shall ye abide at the door of the tabernacle of the
congregation day and night seven days, and keep the charge of the LORD, that
ye die not: for so I am commanded.
[36] So Aaron and his sons did all things which the LORD commanded by the
hand of Moses.

LEVITICUS 9

The Priestly Ministry Begins

1 And it came to pass on the eighth day that Moses called Aaron
and his sons and the elders of Israel.
2 (Lev 4:3; Ex 29:1) Then he said to Aaron, "
Take a young calf for a sin offering and a ram for a burnt offering,
without blemish, and offer them before the Lord.
3 (Lev 4:23; Ezr 6:17) To the children of Israel you shall speak, saying,
'Take a male goat for a sin offering, and a calf and a lamb-both a year old
without blemish-for a burnt offering,
4 (Ex 29:43; Lev 9:6) also an ox and a ram for peace offerings to sacrifice
before the Lord, and a grain offering mixed with oil.
For today the Lord will appear to you.' "
5 They brought that which Moses commanded before the tent of meeting,
and the entire congregation drew near and stood before the Lord.
6 (Ex 24:16; Lev 9:23) Moses said, "This is the thing which the Lord
commanded that you should do; then the glory of the Lord shall appear to you."
7 (Heb 5:3; 5:1) Then Moses said to Aaron, "Go to the altar,
and offer your sin offering and your burnt offering, and make atonement
for yourself and for the people, and offer the sacrifice of the people,
and make atonement for them, as the Lord commanded."
8 Aaron therefore went to the altar and slaughtered the calf
of the sin offering which was for himself.
9 (Lev 4:6-7; 8:15) The sons of Aaron brought the blood to him,
and he dipped his finger in the blood, and put it on the horns of the altar,
and poured out the blood at the base of the altar.
10 But the fat, the kidneys, and the appendage
above the liver of the sin offering he burned on the altar,
as the Lord commanded Moses.
11 (Lev 4:11-12; 8:17) The flesh and the hide he burned
with fire outside the camp.
12 He slaughtered the burnt offering,
and the sons of Aaron presented the blood to him,
which he sprinkled on the sides of the altar.
13 They presented the burnt offering to him,
with its pieces, and the head, and he burned them on the altar.
14 (Lev 8:21) He then washed the entrails and the legs
and burned them with the burnt offering on the altar.
15 (Lev 4:27-31; 9:3) He brought the people's offering,
and took the goat which was the sin offering for the people,
and slaughtered it, and offered it for sin as the first offering.
16 And he brought the burnt offering
and offered it according to its regulation.
17 (Lev 2:1-2) Then he brought the grain offering,
took a handful of it, and burned it on the altar,
besides the burnt sacrifice of the morning.
18 He slaughtered the ox and the ram as a sacrifice of peace offerings
for the people, and the sons of Aaron presented the blood to him,
which he sprinkled on the sides of the altar,
19 and the fat of the ox and of the ram, the fatty tail,
and that which covers the entrails, and the kidneys,
and the appendage above the liver.
20 They put the fat pieces on the breasts,
and he burned the fat on the altar.
21 (Lev 7:30-34) But the breasts and the right thigh
Aaron waved for a wave offering before the Lord just
as Moses commanded.
22 (Dt 21:5; Lk 24:50) Aaron lifted up his hand toward the people,
and blessed them, and came down from offering the sin offering,
the burnt offering, and peace offerings.
23 (Lev 9:6; Nu 16:19) Moses and Aaron went into the tent of meeting,
and when they came out they blessed the people,
and the glory of the Lord appeared to all the people.
24 (Jdg 6:21; 1Ki 18:38-39) A fire came out from before the Lord,
and it consumed the burnt offering and the fat that were on the altar.
When all the people saw this, they shouted and fell on their faces.

Leviticus 9

LORD; and a meat offering mingled with oil: for to day the LORD will appear
unto you.
[5] And they brought that which Moses commanded before the tabernacle of the
congregation: and all the congregation drew near and stood before the LORD.
[6] And Moses said, This is the thing which the LORD commanded that ye
should do: and the glory of the LORD shall appear unto you.
[7] And Moses said unto Aaron, Go unto the altar, and offer thy sin
offering, and thy burnt offering, and make an atonement for thyself, and for
the people: and offer the offering of the people, and make an atonement for
them; as the LORD commanded.
[8] Aaron therefore went unto the altar, and slew the calf of the sin
offering, which was for himself.
[9] And the sons of Aaron brought the blood unto him: and he dipped his
finger in the blood, and put it upon the horns of the altar, and poured out
the blood at the bottom of the altar:
[10] But the fat, and the kidneys, and the caul above the liver of the sin
offering, he burnt upon the altar; as the LORD commanded Moses.

[15] And he brought the people's offering, and took the goat, which was the
sin offering for the people, and slew it, and offered it for sin, as the
first.
[16] And he brought the burnt offering, and offered it according to the
manner.
[17] And he brought the meat offering, and took an handful thereof, and
burnt it upon the altar, beside the burnt sacrifice of the morning.
[18] He slew also the bullock and the ram for a sacrifice of peace
offerings, which was for the people: and Aaron's sons presented unto him the
blood, which he sprinkled upon the altar round about,
[19] And the fat of the bullock and of the ram, the rump, and that which
covereth the inwards, and the kidneys, and the caul above the liver:
[20] And they put the fat upon the breasts, and he burnt the fat upon the
altar:
[21] And the breasts and the right shoulder Aaron waved for a wave offering
before the LORD; as Moses commanded.
[22] And Aaron lifted up his hand toward the people, and blessed them, and
came down from offering of the sin offering, and the burnt offering, and
peace offerings.
[23] And Moses and Aaron went into the tabernacle of the congregation, and
came out, and blessed the people: and the glory of the LORD appeared unto
all the people.
[24] And there came a fire out from before the LORD, and consumed upon the
altar the burnt offering and the fat: which when all the people saw, they
shouted, and fell on their faces.

LEVITICUS 10

The Death of Nadab and Abihu

1 (Lev 16:12; Nu 26:61; Ex 24:1) Now Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron,
each took his censer and put fire in it, and put incense on it,
and offered strange fire before the Lord,
which He did not command them to do.
2 (Nu 26:61; Lev 9:24; Nu 16:35) Then a fire came out from the Lord
and devoured them, and they died before the Lord.
3 (Eze 28:22; Ex 19:22) Then Moses said to Aaron,
"This is what the Lord spoke, saying:
'I will be sanctified
by those who come near Me;
and before all the people
I will be glorified.' "
And Aaron held his peace.
4 (Ex 6:22; 6:18) Moses called Mishael and Elzaphan, the sons of Uzziel
the uncle of Aaron, and said to them,
"Come near, and carry your brothers
from before the sanctuary out of the camp."
5 So they went near, and carried them in their tunics
out of the camp as Moses had said.
6 (Nu 16:22; Jos 7:1) Moses said to Aaron,
and to Eleazar and Ithamar his sons,
"Do not let your hair be loosely disheveled,
nor rend your clothes, lest you die,
and lest wrath come upon all the people.
Instead, let your brothers, the whole house of Israel,
mourn the burning which the Lord has caused.
7 (Lev 21:12; Ex 28:41) You shall not go out from the entrance
of the tent of meeting, lest you die, for the anointing oil
of the Lord is upon you." And they did according to the word of Moses.
8 The Lord spoke to Aaron, saying:
9 (Lk 1:15; 1Ti 3:3; Isa 28:7) Do not drink wine nor strong drink,
you or your sons with you, when you go into the tent of meeting,
lest you die. It shall be a perpetual statute throughout your generations,
10 (Lev 11:47; Eze 22:26) so that you may differentiate between what is
holy and common and between what is unclean and clean.
11 (Dt 24:8; Mal 2:7 ) And so you may teach the children of Israel
all the statutes that the Lord has spoken to them by the hand of Moses.
12 (Lev 21:22; Nu 18:9-10) Moses spoke to Aaron, and to Eleazar and Ithamar,
his sons who were left: Take the grain offering that remains of the food
offerings of the Lord made by fire
and eat it without leaven beside the altar. For it is most holy.
13 (Lev 2:3; 6:16) And you shall eat it in a holy place, because
it is your due and your sons' due from the food sacrifices of the Lord
made by fire. For so I have been commanded.
14 (Nu 18:11) The breast that is waved and the thigh that is contributed
you shall eat in a clean place, you, and your sons, and your daughters
with you, for they are your due and your sons' due which are given out
of the sacrifices of peace offerings of the children of Israel.
15 (Lev 7:34) The thigh that is contributed and the breast that
is waved they shall bring with the fat pieces of the food offerings
made by fire to wave them as a wave offering before the Lord,
and it shall be yours and your sons' with you as a perpetual statute,
as the Lord has commanded.
16 (Lev 9:3; 9:15) Moses diligently sought the goat of the sin offering
and saw it was burned up. And he was angry with Eleazar and Ithamar,
the sons of Aaron who were left alive, saying,
17 (Ex 28:38; Lev 22:16) "Why have you not eaten the sin offering
in the sacred area, knowing that it is most holy and God has given
it to you to bear the iniquity of the congregation to make atonement
for them before the Lord?
18 (Lev 6:30; 6:26) Its blood was not brought into
the inner part of the sanctuary. Indeed you should have eaten
it in the sanctuary as I commanded."
19 (Lev 9:12; 9:8) Aaron said to Moses, "Today they have offered
their sin offering and their burnt offering before the Lord,
and such things have happened to me! If I had eaten the sin offering today,
should it have been accepted in the sight of the Lord?"
20 And when Moses heard that, he approved.

Leviticus 10

Uncover not your heads, neither rend your clothes; lest ye die, and lest
wrath come upon all the people: but let your brethren, the whole house of
Israel, bewail the burning which the LORD hath kindled.
[7] And ye shall not go out from the door of the tabernacle of the
congregation, lest ye die: for the anointing oil of the LORD is upon you.
And they did according to the word of Moses.
[8] And the LORD spake unto Aaron, saying,
[9] Do not drink wine nor strong drink, thou, nor thy sons with thee, when
ye go into the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die: it shall be a
statute for ever throughout your generations:
[10] And that ye may put difference between holy and unholy, and between
unclean and clean;
[11] And that ye may teach the children of Israel all the statutes which the
LORD hath spoken unto them by the hand of Moses.
[12] And Moses spake unto Aaron, and unto Eleazar and unto Ithamar, his sons
that were left, Take the meat offering that remaineth of the offerings of
the LORD made by fire, and eat it without leaven beside the altar: for it is
most holy:
[13] And ye shall eat it in the holy place, because it is thy due, and thy
sons' due, of the sacrifices of the LORD made by fire: for so I am
commanded.
[14] And the wave breast and heave shoulder shall ye eat in a clean place;
thou, and thy sons, and thy daughters with thee: for they be thy due, and
thy sons' due, which are given out of the sacrifices of peace offerings of
the children of Israel.
[15] The heave shoulder and the wave breast shall they bring with the
offerings made by fire of the fat, to wave it for a wave offering before the
LORD; and it shall be thine, and thy sons' with thee, by a statute for ever;
as the LORD hath commanded.
[16] And Moses diligently sought the goat of the sin offering, and, behold,
it was burnt: and he was angry with Eleazar and Ithamar, the sons of Aaron
which were left alive, saying,
[17] Wherefore have ye not eaten the sin offering in the holy place, seeing
it is most holy, and God hath given it you to bear the iniquity of the
congregation, to make atonement for them before the LORD?
[18] Behold, the blood of it was not brought in within the holy place: ye
should indeed have eaten it in the holy place, as I commanded.
[19] And Aaron said unto Moses, Behold, this day have they offered their sin
offering and their burnt offering before the LORD; and such things have
befallen me: and if I had eaten the sin offering to day, should it have been
accepted in the sight of the LORD?
[20] And when Moses heard that, he was content.

Hebrews 11:1-12, 32-40

Faith

1 (2Co 4:18; 5:7) Now faith is the substance of things hoped for,
the evidence of things not seen.
2 For by it the men of old obtained a good report.
3 (Jn 1:3; Ro 4:17) By faith we understand that the universe was framed
by the word of God, so that things that are seen were not made
out of things which are visible.
4 (Mt 23:35; Heb 12:24) By faith Abel offered to God a more excellent
sacrifice than Cain offered. Through this he was approved as righteous,
with God testifying concerning his gifts. He still speaks through his
faith, though he is dead.
5 (2Ki 2:11; Jude 1:14) By faith Enoch was taken to heaven so that
he would not see death. He was not found, because God took him away.
For before he was taken, he had this commendation, that he pleased God.
6 (1Ch 28:9; Jer 29:13-14) And without faith it is impossible to please God,
for he who comes to God must believe that He exists and that He is a
rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
7 (1Pe 3:20; Eze 14:14) By faith Noah, being divinely warned about things
not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark to save his family,
by which he condemned the world
and became an heir of the righteousness that comes by faith.
8 (Ge 12:1-4; 12:7) By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out

When Michele and her family felt God inviting them to live in a missional
community in Peru, they knew that moving to another culture would come at a
cost. But they said yes: "It's about putting God first: whatever God has
called us to do, we do it." Over the years they've faced challenges, such as
waiting for provisions and help, but through these trials they trust God even
more: "He's never, ever, let us down." Sometimes their faith would be "a bit
shaky" but whatever happens, they find that "God is so, so faithful."

The writer to the Hebrews defines faith as "confidence in what we hope for
and assurance about what we do not see" (Hebrews 11:1). He shares how Old
Testament believers served God "by faith": "by faith Abel . . ." (v. 4);
"by faith Noah . . ." (v. 7); "by faith Abraham . . ." (v. 8);
"by faith . . . Sarah . . ." (v. 11). The writer seemingly throws up his hands
with so many examples to share: "I do not have time to tell about Gideon,
Barak . . . about David and Samuel and the prophets, who through faith
conquered kingdoms, administered justice and gained what
was promised . . ." (vv. 32–33, abridged).

When we put our faith in God, He commends us with delight and shows Himself
faithful. In life we might not receive what we're promised (v. 39),
but we know that God will not fail us.

Rom 8:1-2

Life in the Spirit

1 (1Co 1:30; 2Co 5:17) There is therefore now no condemnation
for those who are in Christ Jesus,
who walk not according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.
2 (1Co 15:45; Ro 6:18; Jn 8:32) For the law of the Spirit of life
in Christ Jesus has set me free from the law of sin and death.

The Spirit of God Within You
1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus,
who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free
from the law of sin and death.

In the classic movie, I want to live! actress Susan Hayward
plays a woman convicted of murder and sentenced to be executed.
The suspense builds; the execution is delayed as the officials
wait for a word of pardon. Finally, the woman in executed;
the call comes, and the pardon has been granted, but it is too late.
When no pardon is granted, condemnation leads to death. Our sin
marks us as "guilty" before God, and we deserve the wages of sin,
which is death. But in Jesus Christ, the pardon does come - and
it comes in time. Our sin deserves condemnation by God, and yet
he forgives us because Christ paid the penalty for us,
But we face other kinds of condemnation as well - self-condemnation,
that internal accusation that we still, somehow, must pay the price
of our own sin. Others often condemn us as well, offering much less
forgiveness and mercy than God does. And the Enemy of our souls condemns
us, trying to convince us that we don't, after all, have real freedom
from sin.
Yet Paul tells us in Romans 8, "There is therefore now no condemnation
for those who are in Christ Jesus". God has forgiven us freely; he has
granted his pardon. And in light of his forgiveness, how can we live
under the condemnation of others - or even of ourselves?
We are free, Paul says - free from the "law of sin and death,"
free to live in the liberty of the Spirit. The stay of execution
has come: the pardon has been granted. Never again can we tried
for the same crimes: never again must we live under the burden
of condemnation.

Application

a) Have I ever lived under the burden of condemnation from myself
or others? Why?

b) How can Romans 8:1-2 help me live in freedom of such condemnation?

It is estimated that Calgary has 82000 Muslims and Edmonton another 50000 .
Alberta may have a total as high as 195240 today.
Calgary is notable as the first Canadian city with a Muslim mayor. It's
become a prominent place of Islamic fundamentalism.
Edmonton's Muslim population is very diverse, with the largest group
coming from Tanzania, followed by Somalia, and then North African countries
such as Egypt, Morocco, etc.
Muslims are coming to faith in Jesus! They overcome huge spiritual,
emotional and cultural hurdles to follow Christ. Yet their challenges still
continue, especially in growing in discipleship. They often fell lost in our
Western congregations, and equally lost trying to find a church body with whom
they can identify. some are even being lured into Christian cult groups.

Please join us in praying for:
- The church to reach out to the growing Muslim populations in Alberta.
- for Canadian churches to start contextualised discipleship ministries to
Muslim-background believers.
- for Muslm-background believers to be well grounded spiritually and socially
in their faith and the Church.
- and for Muslim-background believers to share their faith with their
not-yet-believing family and friendship networks.
- for Farsi and Arabic fellowships to grow in spiritual maturity and outreach.
- for current and new workers among Muslims in these growing Muslim
in these growing Muslim population centres.

When the new moon is sighted it marks the beginning of t he new Islamic month
and Eid al-Fitr, the "Festival of Breaking the Fast", will start! After 30 days
of fasting, the Eid celebration at the end of Ramadan is a joyful time that
usually lasts about 3 days. Muslims will buy new clothes, exchange gifts and,
of course, enjoy special foods. In Muslim-majority nations, the streets may be
decorated and festivals will be held.

For many Muslims, Eid-al-Fitr begins with communal prayers at daybreak and the
distribution of money (zakat) to the poor, which is one of the 5 pillars of
Islam.

You can greet Muslim friends during this time by saying "Eid Mubarak",
which means Blessed Eid!"

Ramadan is over for this year, but you can continue to pray for Muslims you
know, and Muslims around the world:

- Despite the unsettling developments in our world today that involve actions
in the name of Islam, there is at the same time a largely untold story about
unprecedented movement to Christ among Muslims. There have been more such
movements of thousands or more new disciples among Muslims in the last three
decades or so than in all the previous history of Christian Muslim
relationships! Pray for this momentum to continue.
Acts 2:12-17 : 17 "In the last days it shall be," says God,
"that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;
your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.
18 Even on My menservants and maidservants
I will pour out My Spirit in those days; and they shall prophesy.
19 And I will show wonders in heaven above and signs on the earth below:
blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke. 20 The sun shall be turned into darkness,
and the moon into blood, before that great and glorious day of the Lord comes.
21 And whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved."[a]

- Pray for, and offer generous hospitality to, those you know who are serving
Christ among Muslim people -
Romans 12:13 "contribute to the needs of the saints, practice hospitality."
- When you gather with fellow believers, remember to pray for Muslims
throughout the year and encourage them to also participate in 30 Days!

My paternal side is of Muslim heritage and will offer this section to further
call for Muslim converts to Christian and any other converts to Christianity
(Hindus, Jews, aboriginals Canadian, ...) .

8 ) Fast and Pray

DAY TWENTY:

WHAT DID THE FAST REVEAL?

Fasting and prayer leads to profound transformations, not only within
ourselves but also in our families, communities, and nations. When we engage
in biblical fasting, we invite God to hear our cries and bring healing
and revival into our lives and the lives of others. This spiritual practice
has the power to shift our hearts and reshape the lives of those we cherish.

VERSE OF THE DAY:

Matthew 6:16-18

Teaching About Fasting

16 (Mt 6:2; Ps 35:13) "Moreover, when you fast, do not be like
the hypocrites with a sad countenance. For they disfigure their faces
so they may appear to men to be fasting. Truly I say to you,

18 (Mt 6:4; 6:6) so that you will not appear to men to be fasting,

PRAYER:

Heavenly Father, as we come to Day 20 of fasting and prayer, I lift up all the
prodigals who have wandered from Your path. Please soften their hearts and
open their eyes to Your love, drawing them back to You. I pray for the
transformative power of Jesus to not only impact my loved ones but also
myself.

Grant divine encounters that lead them to repentance and restoration.
Surround them with people who will guide them home. Help me keep my
eyes fixed on You and strengthen my faith as I trust in Your perfect timing.
Heal broken relationships and bring hope to families longing for
reconciliation.

Thank You for Your faithfulness. I eagerly await the testimonies of their
return. In Jesus' name, Amen.

REFLECTION:

What revelations have emerged from your time of prayer and fasting?

Conclusion:

Pray to the Lord and pray ask Him what you can do for Him and
give Him reverence.

Pray to the Lord: "Faithful God, thank You for being
utterly trustworthy, even though I might not always perceive You at work.
Build my faith in You."

Pray to the Lord and pray to know you are not under the condemnation of sin
because of the Salvation of Jesus Christ .

Pray to the Lord and pray to know His Will will be accomplished.

Pray to the Lord and pray for healing in your life.

Pray for the Lord to convict all of His Righteous standards of living.

Pray for the strength of believers who are ministering God's love and comfort
to victims of Islamists' attacks in Cameron.

Pry that Christians in Israel will be beacons of God's hope, love and peace
in a region dominated by extremism.

Thank You for Your faithfulness. I eagerly await the testimonies of their
return. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray to the Lord that to know the Holy Spirit.
and Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness
