Proverbs 25
More Proverbs of Solomon
1 (Pr 1:1; 1Ki 4:32)These are also proverbs of Solomon,
which the men of Hezekiah king of Judah copied.
2 (Dt 29:29; Job 29:16) It is the glory of God to conceal a thing,
but the honor of kings is to search out a matter.
3 As the heaven for height, and the earth for depth,
so the heart of kings is unsearchable.
4 (2Ti 2:20-21) Take away the dross from the silver,
and there will come forth a vessel for the refiner.
5 (Pr 16:12; 20:8) Take away the wicked from before the king,
and his throne will be established in righteousness.
6 Do not exalt yourself in the presence of the king,
and do not stand in the place of great men;
7 for it is better that it be said to you, "Come up here,"
than that you should be put lower in the presence of the prince,
whom your eyes have seen.
8 (Mt 5:25; Pr 17:14) Do not go forth hastily to strive;
lest you do not know what to do in the end,
when your neighbor has put you to shame.
9 (Pr 11:13) Debate your cause with your neighbor himself,
and do not disclose a secret to another;
10 lest he who hears it put you to shame,
and your reputation be ruined.
11 (Pr 15:23; Isa 50:4) A word fitly spoken
is like apples of gold in settings of silver.
12 (Ps 141:5) As an earring of gold and an ornament of fine gold,
so is a wise reprover to an obedient ear.
13 (Pr 13:17) As the cold of snow in the time of harvest,
so is a faithful messenger to those who send him,
for he refreshes the soul of his masters.
14 (Pr 20:6) Whoever boasts himself of a false gift
is like clouds and wind without rain.
15 (Pr 15:1; Ecc 10:4) By long forbearing is a prince persuaded,
and a soft tongue breaks the bone.
16 (Pr 25:27) Have you found honey? Eat only as much as is sufficient for you,
lest you be filled with it and vomit it.
17 Withdraw your foot from your neighbor's house,
lest he be weary of you and so hate you.
18 (Ps 57:4; Pr 12:18) A man who bears false witness against his neighbour
is like a club, a sword, and a sharp arrow.
19 (Isa 36:6 )Confidence in an unfaithful man in time of trouble
is like a broken tooth and a foot out of joint.
20 (Ro 12:15) As he who takes away a garment in cold weather,
and as vinegar on soda,
so is he who sings songs to a heavy heart.
21 (Ex 23:4-5; Mt 5:44) If your enemy is hungry, give him bread to eat;
and if he is thirsty, give him water to drink;
22 (2Sa 16:12) for you will heap coals of fire upon his head,
and the Lord will reward you.
23 (Ps 101:5 ) The north wind brings rain,
and a backbiting tongue an angry countenance.
24 (Pr 21:9) It is better to dwell in the corner of the housetop
than with a brawling woman in a wide house.
25 (Pr 15:30) As cold waters to a thirsty soul,
so is good news from a far country.
26 A righteous man falling down before the wicked
is as a troubled fountain and a corrupt spring.
27 (Pr 27:2) It is not good to eat much honey;
so for men to search their own glory is not glory.
28 (Pr 16:32) He who has no rule over his own spirit
is like a city that is broken down and without walls.

Proverbs 26
1 As snow in summer, and as rain in harvest,
so honor is not seemly for a fool.
2 (Nu 23:8; 2Sa 16:12) As the bird by flitting, as the swallow by flying,
so the curse without cause will not alight.
3 (Ps 32:9; Pr 10:13) A whip for the horse, a bridle for the donkey,
and a rod for the fool's back.
4 Do not answer a fool according to his folly,
lest you also be like unto him.
5 (Pr 28:11; Mt 16:1--4) Answer a fool according to his folly,
lest he be wise in his own conceit.
6 (Pr 10:26) He who sends a message by the hand of a fool
cuts off the feet and drinks violence.
7 (Pr 26:9) The legs of the lame are not equal;
so is a parable in the mouth of fools.
8 (Pr 26:1) As he who binds a stone in a sling,
so is he who gives honor to a fool.
9 (Pr 23:35) As a thorn goes into the hand of a drunkard,
so is a parable in the mouth of fools.
10 The great God who formed all things
rewards the fool and rewards the transgressor.
11 (Ex 8:15; 2Pe 2:22) As a dog returns to its vomit,
so a fool returns to his folly.
12 (Pr 29:20; Mt 21:31; Pr 26:5) Do you see a man wise in his own conceit?
There is more hope for a fool than for him.
13 (Pr 22:13) The slothful man says, "There is a lion in the way!
A lion is in the streets!"
14 As the door turns upon his hinges,
so does the slothful upon his bed.
15 (Pr 19:24) The slothful buries his hand in his bowl;
it grieves him to bring it again to his mouth.
16 (Pr 26:12) The sluggard is wiser in his own conceit
than seven men who can answer reasonably.
17 He who passes by and meddles with strife not belonging to him
is like one who takes a dog by the ears.
18 As a madman who casts
firebrands, arrows, and death,
19 (Eph 5:4) so is the man who deceives his neighbor,
and says, "I was only joking."
20 (Pr 22:10; 16:28) Where there is no wood, the fire goes out;
so where there is no talebearer, the strife ceases.
21 (Pr 15:18; 29:22) As charcoal is to burning coals, and wood to fire,
so is a contentious man to kindle strife.
22 (Pr 18:8) The words of a talebearer are as wounds,
and go down into the innermost parts of the body.
23 Burning lips and a wicked heart
are like earthenware covered with silver dross.
24 (Pr 12:20) He who hates dissembles with his lips,
and lays up deceit within him;
25 (Ps 28:3) when he speaks kindly, do not believe him,
for there are seven abominations in his heart;
26 though his hatred is covered by deceit,
his wickedness will be shown before the whole congregation.
27 (Pr 28:10; Est 7:10) Whoever digs a pit will fall into it,
and he who rolls a stone, it will return upon him.
28 (Pr 29:5 ) A lying tongue hates those who are afflicted by it,
and a flattering mouth works ruin.

2 Corinthians 3:12-18


12 (2Co 7:4; Ac 4:13) Seeing then that we have such hope,
we speak with great boldness,
13 (Ex 34:33-35; 2Co 3:7) not as Moses, who put a veil over his face,
so that the children of Israel could not look intently at the end
of what was fading away.
14 (Ac 13:15; Ro 11:25) Instead, their minds were blinded.
For until this day the same veil remains unlifted in the
reading of the old covenant, the veil which was done away
with in Christ.
15 But even to this day, when Moses is read, the veil is in their hearts.
16 (Ex 34:34; Isa 25:7) Nevertheless when anyone turns to the Lord,
the veil is removed.
17 (Gal 4:6; Jn 8:32) Now the Lord is the Spirit.
And where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
18 (Ro 8:29; 1Co 13:12; 2Co 4:4) But we all, seeing the glory
of the Lord with unveiled faces, as in a mirror,
are being transformed into the same image from glory
to glory by the Spirit of the Lord.

[12] Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech:
[13] And not as Moses, which put a vail over his face, that the children of
Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished:
[14] But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same
vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done
away in Christ.
[15] But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their
heart.
[16] Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken
away.
[17] Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there
is liberty.
[18] But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the
Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the
Spirit of the Lord.

When Neil Douglas boarded his flight to Ireland, he discovered his seat was 
occupied by another passenger, so he began a conversation to sort out the 
discrepancy. When the passenger looked up to answer, Neil was face to face 
with his lookalike! Onlooking passengers laughed at the men's resemblance 
while the two took a selfie. Later, they ran into each other again when 
checking into the same hotel and a third time at a local pub. The next
morning, they discovered their selfie had gone viral on social media 
due to their striking facial similarities.

Bearing a resemblance to another human being is a surprise for those 
of us without a biological twin, but the Bible says we'll begin to look 
more like God as we follow Him. In the Old Testament, Moses' countenance 
was changed by his face-to-face encounter with God - so much so that 
"the Israelites could not look steadily at [his face] because of its glory"
(2 Corinthians 3:7; see Exodus 34:33-35).

Today, we see the glory of Jesus revealed in people who "are being transformed
 into his image" through the ministry of the Spirit (2 Corinthians 3:18; 
 see v. 8). Our growing knowledge of and love for God results in moral 
 and spiritual transformation that's visible both inwardly and outwardly. 
 When God "makes over" our hearts and minds, it's evident to our fellow 
 travelers in this journey of life.

How has knowing Jesus changed you? What is He growing in you today?

Col 1:21-22

and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled

to present you holy and blameless and above reproach in His sight,

Some 50 years ago, Orson Welles's radio broadcast of The War of the Worlds
threw the nation into panic; people on the East Coast ran for their lives,
expecting at any moment to be destroyed by alien invaders from outer space.
Today, of course, we are more sophisticated about such matters.
Television and movies have educated us about alien life forms.
Star Wars and Star Trek have taught us that their appearance can be much
different than ours. Sometimes they are unable to exist in our atmosphere
with artificial life-support systems; their physical makeup is often
incompatible with our environment.
God says that we, apart from Christ, are as incompatible with his kingdom
as the 'aliens' of movies are with Earth's environment.
We are at war with God, a true "war of the worlds" that staggers
the imagination.
Yet God has 'reconciled' us to his world. He has made us fit,
made us able to exist in his kingdom. He has made us part of
his world through Christ's death and resurrection.
Now, through Christ, we are 'holy' and 'without blemish' in God's sight.
And that transformation, ironically, make us 'alien' in the world around us.
No longer do we fit in a world of selfishness and greed, a world where Self
is god and everyone does what is right in his own heart.
We belong, instead, in the kingdom of God's righteousness.

Care and Anxiety

True Wisdom

The Lord's prayer

Quick facts on Muslims in Quebec

Quebec 2015 population  8214 000

CNMM Networks:  Montreal

There is a growing Muslim population in Quebec City and a smattering
of Muslims scattered around the rest of the province, yet the vast majority
of Muslims live in the greater Montreal area. n fact, 23% of Canada's Muslim
population live in Quebec. Why is that? It is largely because Francophone
African Muslims are attracted to La Belle Provence.
And here's an interesting, perhaps even shocking fact: There are more 
Muslims in Montreal than there are evangelical Christians. 
This is one demographic factor creates a challenging environment for churches
and believers here: The size of the available 'workforce' is small 
by comparison to begin with. Believers are already is a host culture that
is often either indifferent to religion  or resistant to it.  And now 
this 'new'  religious community of Muslims - many of whom do not visibly 
or socially conform to Quebec society - are a growing population. It might br
easy for Christians to feel overwhelm by this cultural double-whammy, 
yet God has always worked miracles through the small, the few.
Agree in prayer for :

- The people of Quebec, Muslim or otherwise, to be open to the Gospel
- for Muslims who are encountering believers and responding
-for a new group of Muslim background believers who are meeting 
together for worship!
- For pastors and believers to be full of passion, faith and vision for
  reaching Muslims in Quebec.

When the new moon is sighted it marks the beginning of t he new Islamic month
and Eid al-Fitr, the "Festival of Breaking the Fast", will start! After 30 days
of fasting, the Eid  celebration at the end of Ramadan is a joyful time that 
usually lasts about 3 days. Muslims will buy new clothes, exchange gifts and,
of course, enjoy special foods. In Muslim-majority nations, the streets may be
decorated and festivals will be held.

For many Muslims, Eid-al-Fitr begins with communal prayers at daybreak and the
distribution of money (zakat) to the poor, which is one of the 5 pillars of
Islam.

You can greet Muslim friends during this time by saying "Eid Mubarak",
which means Blessed Eid!"

Ramadan is over for this year, but you can continue to pray for Muslims you 
know, and Muslims around the world:

- Despite the unsettling developments in our world today that involve actions
in the name of Islam, there is at the same time a largely untold story about
unprecedented movement to Christ among Muslims. There have been more such
movements of thousands or more new disciples among Muslims in the last three
decades or so than in all the previous history of Christian Muslim
relationships! Pray for this momentum to continue.
Acts 2:12-17 :  17 "In the last days it shall be," says God,
"that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; 
your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, 
your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.
18 Even on My menservants and maidservants 
I will pour out My Spirit in those days; and they shall prophesy. 
19 And I will show wonders in heaven above and signs on the earth below: 
blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke.  20 The sun shall be turned into darkness,
and the moon into blood, before that great and glorious day of the Lord comes.
21 And whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved."[a]

- Pray for Christian workers an organisations focused on seeing effective
discipleship movements among Muslim people.
- Ask the Holy Spirit to continue to inspire you to have god's heart for
Muslims, to see them as He does, and to be the light that then to Jesus.

Ideas for prayer

- Pray for opportunities to show the love of Christ to Muslims around you
- Pray for, and offer generous hospitality to, those you know who are serving
Christ among Muslim people - 
Romans 12:13 "contribute to the needs of the saints, practice hospitality."
- When you gather with fellow believers, remember to pray for Muslims 
throughout the year and encourage them to also participate in 30 Days!

"My name is Kam. I'm 29 years of age, and I grew up Sikh. As a teenager, 
I struggled with depression, brokenness, and addiction to
cannabis. I didn't know how to stop or how to get help.

Then a friend invited me to church. As I spent time with Christians 
and heard the message of the Gospel, I experienced the
love of Jesus Christ, and it was like nothing I'd known before. 
One night I had a dream where I saw Him - a figure surrounded by
light who I knew was Jesus, the light of the world.

As I began to understand the gospel message, I encountered a reassuring and
confident solution to the problem of sin. I knew that I needed a solution 
to my sin problem, and I gave my life to Christ.

Slowly, God began to heal my broken heart and my addiction. 
Nine years have passed, and I am a devoted husband and a father
to two beautiful boys. I grow deeper in love with Jesus each day.

Agree in prayer for Quebec:

- The people of Quebec, Muslim or otherwise, to be open to the Gospel
- for Muslims who are encountering believers and responding
-for a new group of Muslim background believers who are meeting 
together for worship!
- For pastors and believers to be full of passion, faith and vision for
  reaching Muslims in Quebec.

- Pray for opportunities to show the love of Christ to Muslims around you
- Pray for, and offer generous hospitality to, those you know who are serving
Christ among Muslim people - 
Romans 12:13 "contribute to the needs of the saints, practice hospitality."
- When you gather with fellow believers, remember to pray for Muslims 
throughout the year and encourage them to also participate in 30 Days! 

Pray that God will convict the hearts of Canadians of the false

Pray for the few bold evangelists and missionaries in Brunei who despte
