Esther 4:10-16

10 Again Esther spoke to Hathak and ordered him to reply to Mordecai:
11 (Est 5:1-2; 8:4) "All the king's servants and the people of the king's
provinces know that whoever, whether man or woman, wishes to come to the king
at the inner court but has not been summoned, there is one law-to put him
to death-unless for some reason the king should hold out the golden scepter
so that he might live. I, however, have not been summoned to come to the king
for these thirty days."
12 So all the words of Esther were told to Mordecai.
13 Then Mordecai told them to reply to Esther, "Do not think that
in the king's palace you will be more likely to escape
than all the other Jews.
14 For if you remain silent at this time, protection and deliverance
for the Jews will be ordained from some other place, but you
and your father's house shall be destroyed. And who knows if you may have
attained royal position for such a time as this?"
15 Then Esther replied, sending back to Mordecai:
16 (Ge 43:14; Est 5:1) "Go, gather all the Jews who can be found in Susa,
then fast for me. Stop eating and drinking for three days, night or day.
I and my young women will fast likewise. Only then would I dare go
to the king since it is not allowed by law, and if I perish, I perish."

[10] Again Esther spake unto Hatach, and gave him commandment unto Mordecai;
[11] All the king's servants, and the people of the king's provinces, do
know, that whosoever, whether man or woman, shall come unto the king into
the inner court, who is not called, there is one law of his to put him to
death, except such to whom the king shall hold out the golden sceptre, that
he may live: but I have not been called to come in unto the king these
thirty days.
[12] And they told to Mordecai Esther's words.
[13] Then Mordecai commanded to answer Esther, Think not with thyself that
thou shalt escape in the king's house, more than all the Jews.
[14] For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there
enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou
and thy father's house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art
come to the kingdom for such a time as this?
[15] Then Esther bade them return Mordecai this answer,
[16] Go, gather together all the Jews that are present in Shushan, and fast
ye for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day: I also and my
maidens will fast likewise; and so will I go in unto the king, which is not
according to the law: and if I perish, I perish.

A nursing convention was being held at a hotel when a guest experienced 
a heart attack in the lobby. Immediately, more than two dozen caregivers 
came to his side and worked to keep him alive. The guest was incredibly 
grateful for all the nurses who were at the right place at the right time.

Esther was also at the right place at the right time. She'd been chosen to be 
queen after winning the king's favour and approval (Esther 2:17). Yet a decree 
threatened her people, the Jews, so her cousin Mordecai encouraged her to use 
her position to appeal to the king to save them from certain death. 
"Who knows but that you have come to your royal position 
for such a time as this?" he challenged her (4:14). Her decision to risk her 
life and "go to the king" (v. 16) to expose this evil plot saved the Jews 
from certain death (ch. 8). It's apparent that Queen Esther understood that 
God had placed her in that position at just the right time.

Sometimes, we may wonder why situations happen or circumstances change. 
Perhaps we get frustrated and try to get things "back to normal." 
God may have placed us in our current situation for a specific purpose. 
Today, as we encounter disruptions or changes, let's ask God to show us 
if there's something special He wants us to do as part of His perfect plan.

Reflect & Pray

What disruptions have you had lately? What opportunities might God be 
presenting to you in them?

Dear Father, when I get frustrated 
with change, please help me see the bigger picture and understand 
that You may be doing something in and through me.

Week 1 Knowing God's Word Day 5 - Learning by Heart

Ps 119:9,11

9 (Ps 38:6; 18:2) How shall a young man keep his way pure?
By keeping it according to Your word.
11 (Ps 42:5; 43:5) Your word I have hidden in my heart,
that I might not sin against You.

9 Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way?
By taking heed thereto according to thy word.
11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart,
That I might not sin against thee.

"His heart is not just in it," a gifted musician commented about the
pianist onstage. "He's here at the Orchestra Hall, playing for
thousands of people, an his technique is flawless, but something
is missing - his heart is just not in it."
The psalmist , in Psalm 119, draws a similar parallel. We "Keep our
way pure" through obedience of his Word, by ordering our lives according
to the commands of the Scriptures. But outward behaviour is not the only
essential factor in purity of life. The changes in our behaviour need to
come from the heart, from the inside out. Our "technique" for living
the Christian life may be flawless, but our obedience is founded
in heart motivation, something is certainly missing.
"I seek you with all my heart," the psalmist declares in verse 10.
Thus he can say in verse 11, "Your word I have hidden in my heart,
that I might not sin against You."
Often we refer to memorisation as "learning by heart" - and indeed
"by heart" is the biblical mandate for assimilating God's truth
into our daily lives. "By rote" or "By Mind" leaves us
intellectually overstuffed, yet spiritually starving.
When we try to apply the Word outwardly to our behaviour,
we end up in a tangle of legalism, a log "do list" by which
we hope to please God. But when we set our hearts toward God first,
then changes in our behaviour grow out of love for God and a deep
desire to serve him. Then we are truly loving and obeying God with
our whole hearts.

Application

a) In what ways have I tried to apply God's word to my behaviour
without having the truth firmly in my heart? What was the result?

b) How can I set my heart toward God and give myself more fully
to his Word?

c) What areas of my life need "purifying"? How can these verses
help me to "make my way pure"?

 Where do Muslims live?

Canada is a land of immigrants. And Muslims are coming in increasing numbers
to our shores. Where do they live? How can we pray for these areas? Use this as
your more effectively for Muslims in Canada.

Data for those population figures is extrapolated for the 2011 National
Household Survey and population growth projections by Pew Forum. These have
also been adjusted by +40% as reliable sources state that on 60% of Muslims
self-identify on government surveys and forms. These estimates are still on
the conservative end of the spectrum. Percentages represent that of the total
Canadian population, not provincial

30 days of prayer for the Muslim World 24 April to 23 May 2020

When the new moon is sighted it marks the beginning of t he new Islamic month
and Eid al-Fitr, the "Festival of Breaking the Fast", will start! After 30 days
of fasting, the Eid  celebration at the end of Ramadan is a joyful time that 
usually lasts about 3 days. Muslims will buy new clothes, exchange gifts and,
of course, enjoy special foods. In Muslim-majority nations, the streets may be
decorated and festivals will be held.

For many Muslims, Eid-al-Fitr begins with communal prayers at daybreak and the
distribution of money (zakat) to the poor, which is one of the 5 pillars of
Islam.

You can greet Muslim friends during this time by saying "Eid Mubarak",
which means Blessed Eid!"

Ramadan is over for this year, but you can continue to pray for Muslims you 
know, and Muslims around the world:

- Despite the unsettling developments in our world today that involve actions
in the name of Islam, there is at the same time a largely untold story about
unprecedented movement to Christ among Muslims. There have been more such
movements of thousands or more new disciples among Muslims in the last three
decades or so than in all the previous history of Christian Muslim
relationships! Pray for this momentum to continue.
Acts 2:12-17 :  17 "In the last days it shall be," says God,
"that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; 
your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, 
your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.
18 Even on My menservants and maidservants 
I will pour out My Spirit in those days; and they shall prophesy. 
19 And I will show wonders in heaven above and signs on the earth below: 
blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke.  20 The sun shall be turned into darkness,
and the moon into blood, before that great and glorious day of the Lord comes.
21 And whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved."[a]

- Ask the Holy Spirit to continue to inspire you to have god's heart for
Muslims, to see them as He does, and to be the light that then to Jesus.

Ideas for prayer

- Pray for opportunities to show the love of Christ to Muslims around you
- Pray for, and offer generous hospitality to, those you know who are serving
Christ among Muslim people - 
Romans 12:13 "contribute to the needs of the saints, practice hospitality."
- When you gather with fellow believers, remember to pray for Muslims 
throughout the year and encourage them to also participate in 30 Days!

My paternal side is of Muslim heritage and will offer this section to further
call for Muslim converts to Christian and any other converts to Christianity
(Hindus, Jews, aboriginals Canadian, ...) .

a) Pray that the Lord will open a door for the message for the Gospel
at every level of Canadian Society. (

Col 4:3

us a door of utterance to speak the mystery of Christ,
for which I am also in chains,

b) Pray for the Province of Saskatchewan

I) Pray for the leaders of Saskatchewan,
that God's Spirit would influence
then to act justly,
serve with integrity
and honour high moral standards. ( 1 Tim 2:1 - 4

1 Therefore I exhort first of all that you make supplications,
prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings for everyone,
2 (Ezr 6:10) for kings and for all who are in authority,
that we may lead a quiet and peaceful life in all godliness and honesty,
3(1Ti 1:1; Lk 1:47) for this is good
and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior,
4 (Eze 18:23; 18:32)who desires all men to be saved
and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

II) Pray for the churches of the province,
that they would be lighthouses
beaming forth the illuminating truth of God's Word.

III) Pray that the Lord would use
the Finding the Hope Campaign
and booklet to turn many hearts to Jesus

Conclusion:

Pray to the Lord and pray to be a humble leader in the eyes of the Lord Jesus
Christ.

Pray to the Lord: "Dear Father, when I get frustrated 
with change, please help me see the bigger picture and understand 
that You may be doing something in and through me."

Pray to the Lord and pray to keep your ways pure by hiding the Word in your
heart.

Pray to the Lord and pray to honour the covenant with the Lord.

Pray to the Lord and pray to know His Word as a Lamp unto your feed.

Pray for Muslims in Canada to know Jesus as Saviour.

Pray for Christian workers an organisations focused on seeing effective
discipleship movements among Muslim people.
