Close (I think). I would guess they were speaking Greek or Chinese, but the thought of the snake speaking Chinese seems a bit far-fetched. Some have theorized on this thread that it was an early dialect of Hebrew. In my experience, the only ones speaking Yiddish is Jewish. By default, that would make the snake Jewish. I know you people have been compared to vermin in the past but please, don't do it to yourself.
