To "die" then, means your soul is separated from your body and/or God, not that it ceases to exist. > 2) No Hellfire: Jer 7:31: "to burn their sons and their daughters in > the fire, which I did not command, nor did it come into My heart." > KJV) It is not the children of God who go to the lake of fire, but the children of the devil (Matthew 25:41; John 8:44; 1 John 3:10; etc.). Can it be tortured? > --Even "Hell" is cast into it. Can "Hell" be tortured? • It doesn't say death and hell are tortured in the lake of fire. It says they are cast there. You fabricate a condition the Bible never says exists, then make that false condition the standard for concluding it must not be literal. • Further, the context shows that being separated from God in the lake of fire itself "is" the second "death" (Revelation 20:14). Death "is" the condition of being separated from God in that place of torment. > 4) Lake of fire is symbolic. Of what? "The second DEATH" (Rev 20:14) • Being "tormented", "day and night" for a period that lasts "forever an ever" (Revelation 14:11; 20:10), is NOT symbolic of "instantly ceasing to exist and never feels any pain". Symbols don't represent something which is the perfect antithesis of what they plainly state. • It flatly states that having your portion in the lake of fire "is" the second death. "is" is not a symbol. It's an equation. Death is to be separated from God in the lake of fire. No one has a portion in the lake of fire, if they cease to exist. > 5) No one in the OT went to Heaven. John 3:13 "No one has ascended to > heaven". Old Testament saints generally went to a place of "comfort" before Jesus provided an atonement for our sins, and to paradise in heaven afterward (Luke 16:5; Luke 23:43; 2 Corinthians 12:3). Further, contrary to your Bible-contradicting claims, Scripture specifically records that Old Testament believers entered heaven: "And as they still went on and talked, behold, chariots of fire and horses of fire separated the two of them. And Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven." (2 Kings 2:11 ESV) "Enoch walked with God, and he was not, for God took him." (Genesis 5:24 ESV) "By faith Enoch was taken up so that he should not see death, and he was not found, because God had taken him." (Hebrews 11:5 ESV) "You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will receive me to glory." (Psalm 73:24 ESV) > 6) Did Jesus think he was Almighty God? (John 14:28; 1 Cor 11:3) > --"my Father is greater than I. (KJV) • You seek to confuse role and function with essence of being. Philippians 2 shows that although Jesus was equal to God, He voluntarily submitted Himself to the will of the Father. Submission in role and function does not imply inferiority of being. • By your twisted lies, women would have to be sub-human, since the Bible tells them to submit to their husbands (Ephesians 5; Colossians 3; 1 Peter 3). > --"the head of Christ is God." (KJV) idem. > -- "because I said, I am the Son of God?" (John 10:36) "Son of God" does not mean "not God". It means He IS God: “This was why the Jews were seeking all the more to kill him, because not only was he breaking the Sabbath, but he was even calling God his own Father, making himself equal with God.” (John 5:18, ESV) That's John writing, not the religious leaders. They correctly understood that by claiming God was His Father, Jesus was making Himself equal with God. “The Jews answered him, “It is not for a good work that we are going to stone you but for blasphemy, because you, being a man, make yourself God.”” (John 10:33, ESV) > 7) The Earth will not be destroyed by fire. (Ec1:4) > --"the earth abideth for ever" (KJV) This lie has been refuted 10 times or more. The word "forever" means undefined horizons, not never-ending eternity. This is evident in many passages of Scripture: Exodus 21:6 Then his master shall bring him unto the judges; he shall also bring him to the door, or unto the door post; and his master shall bore his ear through with an aul; and he shall serve him for ever. 1 Samuel 1:22 But Hannah went not up; for she said unto her husband, I will not go up until the child be weaned, and then I will bring him, that he may appear before the LORD, and there abide for ever. 1 Samuel 1:28 Therefore also I have lent him to the LORD; as long as he liveth he shall be lent to the LORD. And he worshipped the LORD there. Jonah 2:6 I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; the earth with her bars was about me for ever: yet hast thou brought up my life from corruption, O LORD my God. 1 Samuel 27:12 And Achish believed David, saying, He hath made his people Israel utterly to abhor him; therefore he shall be my servant for ever. Leviticus 25:46 And ye shall take them as an inheritance for your children after you, to inherit them for a possession; they shall be your bondmen for ever: but over your brethren the children of Israel, ye shall not rule one over another with rigour. Philemon 1:15 For perhaps he therefore departed for a season, that thou shouldest receive him for ever. > --"like the earth which he hath established for ever." (Ps 78:69) > (KJV) idem. Further, many verses show the exact opposite of your claims: Isaiah 24:19-20 The earth is utterly broken down, the earth is clean dissolved, the earth is moved exceedingly. The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard, and shall be removed like a cottage; and the transgression thereof shall be heavy upon it; and it shall fall, and not rise again. Isaiah 34:4 And all the host of heaven shall be dissolved, and the heavens shall be rolled together as a scroll: and all their host shall fall down, as the leaf falleth off from the vine, and as a falling fig from the fig tree. Isaiah 51:6 Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look upon the earth beneath: for the heavens shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment, and they that dwell therein shall die in like manner: but my salvation shall be for ever, and my righteousness shall not be abolished. Psalm 102:25-26 Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of thy hands. They shall perish, but thou shalt endure: yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment; as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed: Zephaniah 1:18 Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the LORD'S wrath; but the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of his jealousy: for he shall make even a speedy riddance of all them that dwell in the land. Zephaniah 3:8 Therefore wait ye upon me, saith the LORD, until the day that I rise up to the prey: for my determination is to gather the nations, that I may assemble the kingdoms, to pour upon them mine indignation, even all my fierce anger: for all the earth shall be devoured with the fire of my jealousy. Matthew 24:35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. Hebrews 1:10-12 And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands: They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment; And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail. 2 Peter 3:10-12 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? Revelation 20:11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. Revelation 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. > --"for they shall inherit the earth." (Mt 5:5) (KJV) > --"But the meek shall inherit the earth"; (Ps 37:11) (KJV) The meek do inherit the earth. They inherit the present heavens and earth for 1000 years when Christ returns to reign (Revelation 20), and the New Heavens and earth for eternity after the present heavens and earth flee and no more place is found for them (Revelation 20:11ff; cf. 21-22). > ***John 1:1 says the Word was God. That is a translation error, not > going by Greek grammar translation rules. (if you want all the > details, just ask)" NOWHERE ELSE IN THE BIBLE DOES IT SAY JESUS WAS > GOD. BUT THERE ARE SOME SCRIPTURES THOUGH, THAT CAN BE TWISTED TO READ > THAT WAY. No, John 1 is accurate. The Word was with God and the word was "God". Satan's Witnesses CHANGE and TWIST the Scriptures to read "a god". Many other passages say the same (Jesus is God), and you have to TWIST and DENY the plain teaching of Scripture to conclude otherwise. Scripture explicitly, repeatedly, and unambiguously calls Jesus Christ God in numerous places in both the Old and New Testaments. 1. John 1:1: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." (John 1:1 ESV) Explanation: The Greek construction /theos en ho logos/ clearly identifies the Word as God in nature and essence. 2. John 20:28: "Thomas answered him, 'My Lord and my God!'" (John 20:28 ESV) Explanation: Thomas addressed Jesus directly as God. Jesus accepted this worship without correction or hesitation. 3. Titus 2:13: "Waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ." (Titus 2:13 ESV) Explanation: Greek grammar (the Granville Sharp rule) establishes that "our great God and Savior" refers to one single person: Jesus Christ. 4. Romans 9:5: "To them belong the patriarchs, and from their race, according to the flesh, is the Christ, who is God over all, blessed forever. Amen." (Romans 9:5 ESV) 5. Hebrews 1:8: "But of the Son he says, 'Your throne, O God, is forever and ever, the scepter of uprightness is the scepter of your kingdom.'" (Hebrews 1:8 ESV) Explanation: God the Father Himself explicitly addresses the Son as "O God." 6. Isaiah 9:6: "For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." (Isaiah 9:6 ESV) Further, the disciples translated the OT name for God (YHWH) as Kyrios (Lᴏʀᴅ), and attribute the name of YHWH to Jesus: 1. Joel 2:32 → Romans 10:13 • Joel 2:32 (LXX): “Everyone who calls on the name of the LORD (*Kurios*) will be saved.” • Romans 10:13: “Everyone who calls on the name of the LORD (*Kurios*) will be saved.” Paul applies this to Jesus in Romans 10:9, identifying Him as the *Kurios* on whom we call for salvation. 2. Isaiah 45:23 → Philippians 2:10–11 • Isaiah 45:23 (LXX): “To Me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall confess to God.” • Philippians 2:10–11: “At the name of Jesus every knee should bow... and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is LORD (*Kurios*).” Paul applies this passage about YHWH to Jesus, calling Him *Kurios*. 3. Deuteronomy 6:4 → 1 Corinthians 8:6 • Deuteronomy 6:4 (LXX): “The LORD (*Kurios*) our God, the LORD (*Kurios*) is one.” • 1 Corinthians 8:6: “Yet for us there is one God, the Father... and one LORD (*Kurios*), Jesus Christ.” Paul affirms monotheism and includes Jesus as *Kurios* within the divine identity. 4. Psalm 34:8 → 1 Peter 2:3 • Psalm 34:8 (LXX): “Taste and see that the LORD (*Kurios*) is good.” • 1 Peter 2:3: “If indeed you have tasted that the LORD (*Kurios*) is good.” Peter quotes the psalm about YHWH and applies it to Jesus as *Kurios*. 5. Isaiah 8:13–14 → 1 Peter 3:15; Romans 9:33 • Isaiah 8:13: “But the LORD (*Kurios*) of hosts, Him you shall honor as holy...” • 1 Peter 3:15: “Honor Christ the LORD (*Kurios*) as holy in your hearts.” • Isaiah 8:14: “And He will become a sanctuary and a stone of stumbling...” Romans 9:33 and 1 Peter 2:8 apply this stumbling stone to Christ, identifying Him as the *Kurios*. 6. Psalm 102:25–27 → Hebrews 1:10–12 • Psalm 102:25 (LXX): “You, LORD (*Kurios*), laid the foundation of the earth in the beginning.” • Hebrews 1:10: “You, LORD (*Kurios*), laid the foundation of the earth in the beginning.” The writer explicitly says this was spoken “of the Son,” identifying Jesus as *Kurios*. 7. Deuteronomy 10:17 → Revelation 19:16 • Deuteronomy 10:17 (LXX): “For the LORD (*Kurios*) your God is God of gods and LORD (*Kurios*) of lords.” • Revelation 19:16: “King of kings and LORD (*Kurios*) of lords.” The title for YHWH is applied to Jesus, who bears the name *Kurios* of all. The New Testament authors consistently affirm *Kurios* as the proper translation of YHWH and deliberately apply passages about the *Kurios* of the Old Testament to Jesus Christ. Conclusion: The assertion that "nowhere else in the Bible does it say Jesus was God" is contradicted by the plain text of Scripture. Jesus Christ is named God, assigned divine attributes, given divine worship, and described as performing divine works throughout the word of God. > True Bible doctrines can't contradict other Scriptures. Which is exactly what your Satan's Witness heresy does at every point. Stupid hypocrite! -- Good News † Jesus is God: christrose.news/Jesus-God. No other message can save except the true gospel: Christ died for our sins and rose from the dead (1 Corinthians 15:1-4; Galatians 1:8-9). Any contrary gospel is false and plunges people into conscious, eternal torment in the lake of fire (2 Thessalonians 1:8-9; John 3:18; Revelation 14:10-11; Revelation 19:20; Revelation 20:11-15). Denying the deity of Jesus ensures you will die in your sins (John 8:58). Through the cross, Christ erased the spiritual debt we owed to God for our rebellion (Colossians 2:14), a reality established when God raised Him from the dead (Romans 1:4). God can now righteously pardon our sins (Romans 3:26) and exempt us from the coming divine judgment (1 Thessalonians 1:10). Salvation cannot be earned; it is a free gift for believers (Romans 6:23).
