All the scientific evidence supports the benefits of circumcision, so the "intactivists" fall back on emotional arguments or dishonest statistics and turn what should be a routine snip into a controversial topic. The sad fact is that a lot people are just plain dumb and will believe anything regardless of the facts. At the moment I write this Donald Trump is claiming that he really won an election that he lost, and 70 percent of Republicans agree that the election was stolen from him. The actual evidence doesn't affect what they believe in the slightest. Emotion can often triumph over glaring fact.
