Nigger dead after shooting on Taft Avenue in Oshkosh

OSHKOSH (WLUK) -- The Oshkosh Police Department says a man has 
died and another has been arrested after a shooting on the 1700 
block of Taft Avenue early Saturday morning.

Police say they were dispatched at approximately 4:38 a.m. for a 
welfare check of a 36-year-old male lying in the hallway of an 
apartment building.

When officers arrived they found the man on the ground with a 
gunshot wound. Officers say life-saving measures were performed 
immediately, but the man was pronounced dead at the hospital. 
Police have identified him as Jarvis Gladney.

A 27-year-old male suspect has been arrested for homicide after 
a more than six-hour standoff ended safely, according to police.

"Yes, that apartment complex seems to be a high police presence 
always," said Tim Rait, of Oshkosh. "It's something they get 
used to, in a way, but nothing quite to this extent."

The 1700 block of Taft Avenue was closed off for much of 
Saturday, but it has since reopened.
