Comedian Loni Love says shes giving a custom-made wig to the
Louisiana woman who was hospitalized last week for using Gorilla
Glue to style her hair, according to a report.
The 49-year-old funny lady said she empathizes with Tessica
Brown, whose hair became stuck solid after using the industrial-
strength adhesive as a makeshift hair product, according to NBC
LX.
We know as black women how hard it is, our hair is so
important, Love said in a clip that aired Friday. Im one of
the few black women me and I think Whoopi Goldberg [who]
actually wear our hair in braids or locks because traditionally
it has been known to be unprofessional. But the times are
changing, she said. So I totally have empathy for Tessica and
I want to help.
Love, who co-hosts the talk show The Real, noted that Brown
had the glue removed by a plastic surgeon and may be in need
of a good wig.
Im offering to gift her a wig. I have a wonderful wig maker,
who will make a wig of her styling, she said.
Brown became a viral sensation earlier this month after she
posted a TikTok video explaining that her hair had been stuck
in place for a month a confession that resonated with some
women of color.
Look: My hair, it dont move. You hear what Im telling you? It
dont move, she says in one clip, adding that her scalp burns
with pain.
A Beverly Hills plastic surgeon then volunteered to help her
unstick her hair in a four-hour procedure this week.
Footage of Brown after the surgery shows her running her fingers
through her hair for the first time in more than a month.
