Uh, no. Israel temporarily withdrew troops from the interior of 
Gaza to reinforce guarding and reduction of the Samaria ghettoes. 
However Gaza remains surrounding by Israel military who refuse to 
let palestinian unfetterred economic imports and exports. 
Basically Gaza has been turned into a large prison. Which Israel 
sporadically bombs if they decide palestinians are getting too 
upitty.

As to Israel respecting even partial palestinian sovereignity,

Here I was going to report the 2007 elections, but the search 
actually shows Israel interferes with every election starting 
then by arresting Hamas to keep palestinians from voting from the 
wrong people. Nothing says respect for democracy like deciding 
the election result while ignoring votes.......

Now I understand why republicans admire Israel.
