American people and american planes fly outside US airspace. It's 
in the US interest that they are treated according to the 
internationally agreed rules. What the US should do depends on 
the rules and whether they were violated and whether innocent 
people were endangerred.

Also Poland and Greece are NATO allies. If they call on NATO to 
defend them, the US must respond.
