Maybe you should broaden/expand your OS horizons.

While I still do a few things in Win (typically Win7, very very rarely 
W10 which came installed on the last laptop I bought); oh, yeah; the 
other day I booted a Hirens W11 PE to 'check something out', back when I 
used to occsly boot an XP, I was 'dismayed' by the lack of availability 
of a modern browser.

I have no 'problem' w/ your not wanting to 'equip yourself' w/ a 
currently supported Win (W8.1 support ended '23 Jan) but I think you 
should also be able to use a currently supported OS. Linux comes to mind.
