Did you read the pop up windows? Like really read them. Most likely and 
I'm guessing they say cannot load x plugin, most probably because it's 
unsuitable, yunno, out of date, x64 instead of x32, programmed by Satan.

The simple answer if you find reading pop up boxes challenging or 
triggering and thunking outside of the box beneath you is to delete 
everything in the plugins folder, or moving them somewhere for nostalgia 
purposes and the installing the latest most probably 32 bit plugins 
package from Irfanview.

It's a retro solution for a retro guy.
